RACE TWO

Facing some tough gates in recent outings, a return to the front line looks ideal for KING TRITON (2) to capitalise in this contest. Deep in the pack from the 2nd line last start when trying to set out after GOVERNOR JUJON, buried away when a close 3rd here 3 starts back, he can fire the first shot and will have options thereafter to cash-in here.

MAJOR FERNCO (10) was for a period looking like he was a leader but in recent starts he has developed some versatility. Eased early from gate 6 last start, he powered home in the closing stages to claim victory by 4m in sharp time. With the right trail, he can make a closing challenge in this.

BEAST MODE (9) did some early work to secure position last start before gaining the 1x1 trail and finishing nicely for the bronze. Pushing through early he can be in the mix once again.

KEAYANG MARVEN (1) is not really suited from this gate as he likely will lack the early hustle to protect the poles. Shuffled back from this alley mid-week, he will be searching for a way clear.

SELECTIONS: KING TRITON (2), MAJOR FERNCO (10), BEAST MODE (9), KEAYANG MARVEN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: KING TRITON (2) to win

RACE THREE

LOMBO HEAVEN (1)
started from this gate 2 starts back at the 2138m and firing off the arm was able to get a relative comfortable opening half. Dialling it up, he was nutted on the wire via the passing lane before being buried away from gate 8 here last week. Back to the ace over the mile, he will give them the target.

NURBURGRING (8) took a seat from gate 1 here last week at the mile and with the cosy trip behind the action had the closing speed to arrive for a half-neck victory. With a similar trip behind the speed again from this gate, he will be looking to make his challenge in the stretch.

VIRGIL (2) was searching for a quartet of victories last start when slammed with gate 7. Sent forward to sit parked, he was mighty game to hold on for the bronze as WILL THE WIZARD carved out a sharp mile in front. He may need to roll the sleeves again.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (9) was sent forward early last start over the 2138m trip when asked to hang tough in the breeze before wilting late to be 4m from the winner. 5m away the start prior, taking inside runs can help here.

SELECTIONS: LOMBO HEAVEN (1), NURBURGRING (8), VIRGIL (2), SUBTLE DELIGHT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-9

RACE FOUR

An intriguing open class event here where the likely main players drawn wide will give the opportunity to WILL THE WIZARD (4) to look to make use of the gate advantage. Sent to the front from gate 6 last start over the sprint trip, he opened them up sub 27 and then his last 800m had them chasing in a 55.2 section to score. Beaten a lip in FFA grade 2 back, he gets a chance.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (8) has the options as the lone 2nd line runner which as he searches for the right passage to find his way into the race. His individual sections were 2nd only to the winner MACH DA VINCI last week which followed his swooping win here 2 starts back when defeating COLT THIRTY ONE. The tempo will suit for him again here.

CRUNCH TIME (7) was in a foul mood last week when refusing to pace and his chances expired before they even started. Gritty in defeat the start prior when doing all the heavy lifting, he will need to grind it out again.

TOMMY LINCOLN (5) has faced gate 7 at his past 2 starts, the latest when easing early before trying to make a closing play to be 4m from the winner OUR UNCLE SAM. Too strong for MACH DA VINCI the start prior, he can be chiming in here.

SELECTIONS: WILL THE WIZARD (4), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (8), CRUNCH TIME (7), TOMMY LINCOLN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: WILL THE WIZARD (4) to win

RACE FIVE

Eased when there was too much speed to his inside here last week, THE DEMOCRAT (5) found the 1x1 trail before closing out in nice style with some smart closing panels. Grabbing the bronze behind MAKE MINE MEMPHIS in that contest, a drop to Veteran’s grade looks a nice fit and he can look to capitalise.

VINNY CHASE (6) settled in the running line from gate 10 here 4 starts back at the mile and with a genuine tempo worked home over the top to claim the prize. Not too far away in his 3 starts since that win, he was working home in good order last start when 4m from MISTERFREEZE and can throw down a challenge in this.

STOMPEM (9) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when down the line after finding the 1x1 trail from this gate over the mile. A winner at the 2138m 3 runs back, he can chime in here.

THE SHADY ONE (2) returns to Qld joining the Matt Elkins barn and will be first up from a spell tackling this. Trialling in nice style I readiness, he can chime into the action.

SELECTIONS: THE DEMOCRAT (5), VINNY CHASE (6), STOMPEM (9), THE SHADY ONE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THE DEMOCRAT (5) to win

RACE SIX

Proving too strong in a return to mid-week company 2 starts back BLACK HAWK JOE (3) landed gate 10 at his next start here over the mile. Settling deep in the pack as a 56.3 opening half was stomped out in front, he was strong to the line when 1.5m from the winner NOWHERE CREEK. With an improved gate he can apply the heat to take this.

BOMBADIER JUJON (1) has not had the clearest passage at his past 2 starts when trying to launch closing raids from back in the pack. A beaten favourite here 4 starts back when WATCH PULP FICTION launched a back stretch blitz, he lands all the options to capitalise from this alley.

MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (4) lit the candle at both ends last week over the mile, assuming control in a sub 27 opener before putting it out of reach of the chasers with a 27.5 closer. Runner-up his previous 2 starts, early position will be key to his chances.

STREITKID (2) was fired off the gate here last week over this trip and was able to secure a 61.2 opening half before fighting them off in the stretch. He can fire the early bullets here and be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: BLACK HAWK JOE (3), BOMBADIER JUJON (1), MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (4), STREITKID (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACK HAWK JOE (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

Racing in good form despite copping some tough gates in recent weeks FEELS LIKA WINNER (10) will again have to overcome an extreme alley. Sent forward from this gate last week to cut the breeze, she faded under the toll in the closing stages. It will be tough again, but she might just have found the right field balance to arrive this time.

TRUE STEPPER (2) was buried in the run here last week from inside the 2nd line and was sound to the line in the closing stages when probing for open road. A similar trip 2 starts back when resuming from a let up, she was never into clear to make a meaningful challenge. This looks a better option.

MISS VICTORIA (6) was looking to land a quartet of successive wins last start when beaten for speed form gate 1 before grabbing 3rd here last week behind AJAY BREEZY ROSE. With the ability to work, she can get into the battle here.

WHICH HUNT (5) has hit the board her past 4 on the run, the latest when trying to make the closing shot up the passing lane when 6m in arrears. The wider gate stings but she can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: FEELS LIKA WINNER (10), TRUE STEPPER (2), MISS VICTORIA (6), WHICH HUNT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: FEELS LIKA WINNER (10) to win

RACE NINE

Finishing in a quinella position at her past 5 in succession, WAHS FIRE BUG (4) was asked to do it the tough way last start when sitting parked and grafting out a starchy victory over the 2138m. 2m away here 2 starts back as CHIASSO led throughout, she charged late when a head away 3 back and can arrive again here.

TOTAL DIVA (3) held the pocket trail last start from gate 1 when trying to make the closing play up the passing lane as CHIASSO scored. 6m from the winner 2 starts back when doing it the tough way outside A RAINBOW DELIGHT, she may need to roll the sleeves again but is up to the task.

CHIASSO (2) fired out to take control and then never relinquished in an all the way effort over this trip 2 starts back. Buried in the run last start from inside the 2nd line, she can look to repeat her win from the good alley.

OAXACAN DREAM (8) burrowed through to protect the pegs early before releasing with the opening panel lighting the board in sub 27. Trying to fight on in the stretch, a return to mare’s company suits.

SELECTIONS: WAHS FIRE BUG (4), TOTAL DIVA (3), CHIASSO (2), OAXACAN DREAM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WAHS FIRE BUG (4) to win

RACE TEN

He must overcome the big handicaps now he is at the top of the tree so a return to mobile conditions will be a welcome relief for MAJESTIC SIMON (7). The last time from the mobile was 5 runs back in the G1 Qld Cup where he set the speed and it was only the interstate raiders that beat him home. With good early speed he can fire out and get back to winning form.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (6) settled in the 1x1 trail last start and chased hard for the bronze when 3m from the winner GODOFTHUNDER. In for the fight here 2 starts back when working hard in the breeze from the 20m tape. With a tidy record from the mobile, he can throw down a challenge.

MORE SHADES OF GOLD (5) was sent straight to the front here 2 starts back over this trip from a 10m handicap and was able to fight them off. Chasing hard after making an error last week and grabbing 2nd, he can feature again.

DOUG (3) was slowly into stride last week and was a long way off them when trying to launch a bid. Able to get within 4m of the winner, he can take this if the manners come with him to the track.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC SIMON (7), NORTHERN MUSCLE (6), MORE SHADES OF GOLD (5), DOUG (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC SIMON (7) to win
