Co-trainer Matt Hoysted believes favourite She’sgottheboom is ready to fire for her assignment in the $500,000 QTIS 2YO Jewel at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

She’sgottheboom is a $1.95 favourite with TAB punters after two impressive wins at her only two starts.

They were over 1110 metres at Doomben last month before claiming the QTIS Jewel Prelude over 1100 metres at Toowoomba on March 5.

On both occasions, She’sgottheboom showed brilliant gate speed which Hoysted believes is a big factor in her favour for the $300,00 first prize.

The main query for punters is whether She’sgottheboom will cope with a step up in distance to 1200 metres for the first time.

However, Hoysted, who trains in partnership with Steve O’Dea, has no doubt about her handling the extra trip following her effortless win in the Prelude last start.

“We haven’t had to do much with her since her Toowoomba win and she’s rock hard fit,” Hoysted said.

“We’ve got no issues with her going to 1200 metres and there's no real worry with her."

Hoysted revealed She’sgottheboom may miss the TAB Queensland Winter Carnival in favour of an extended spell when she has her final run this campaign in the QTIS Jewel.

“She’s done it all so far and it’s still her first preparation,” Hoysted said.

“There’s not a lot of time to get her ready again for the winter so she might just miss it and have a longer break.”

O’Dea and Hoysted boast one of the best metropolitan strike rates of any trainer in the country and are looking for their first win in the QTIS Jewel.

“I don’t recall us having a runner in the 2YO Jewel but we've had two starters in the three-year-old race,” he said.

O’Dea and Hoysted will saddle up two starters - Birriecart and Enterprise Pomme - in the 3YO QTIS Jewel.

Birriecart is unbeaten in three starts but hasn’t raced since beating Sydney three-year-old Tiger Heart at Doomben in October.

Enterprise Pomme had his first start for the stable after transferring from Michael Lakey when he won at Doomben last month.

“Birriecart is a progressive type and we’re looking to stretch him out in distance to 1600 metres,” Hoysted said.

“He’s had three barrier trials to bring him up to this and he’ll run well.

“Enterprise Pomme is a high-quality filly and she’s got good gate speed to cross from her tricky alley.”
