RACE ONE

Scoring a brace with his only two appearances in Qld to date, RONALDO (2) has found the gate and conditions to put the hat-trick in the bag, Pressing on from gate 4 last start to take control through a sizzling 54.6 opening panel, he was able to see it out. With an easier first half, the threepeat is on.

CRIME WRITER (10) looked to have found the right conditions for a breakthrough here last week and was heavily supported to land the loot. Settling back in the pack from a second line gate, he was attacking the line over the closing stages to be a neck in arrears. He can be throwing it down again.

ROCKIN WITH ELVIS (1) looks set to enjoy the ideal trip in behind the speed here. Just 3m in arrears 3 runs back, he then scored a sharp Menangle win two starts back and gets every chance here.

OBI ONE (3) had gone 18 starts without a win on this deck before claiming victory four starts back. Quickly adding another win two back, he was only collared late last start and can feature again.

SELECTIONS: RONALDO (2), CRIME WRITER (10), ROCKIN WITH ELVIS (1), OBI ONE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: RONALDO (2) to win

RACE TWO

With her races spaced since being in Qld where she is a perfect 2 for 2, AMORE VITA (11) will need to be at her best to overcome this alley. Charging over the top in the twinkling of an eye here two runs back, she was then never in danger in front in the Redcliffe Oaks. Oozing class, she can arrive.

STENO (3) is a classy NSW filly that comes into this contest first up but really opened the pipes in a slick Menangle trial to prepare for this assignment. A high gate speed filly she was shut down after her last Menangle win which made it four on the bounce following a tough NSW Oaks run. The gate is a huge plus.

NOT TO BE DENIED (1) arrives from NSW with a sharp record and in search of a hat-trick. A smart win last start at Wagga followed a gritty Menangle win and she has the gate to be right in the mix.

COVER GIRL (9) has never been far away in five Qld appearances, winning two and placing in the other three. Scoring last start over the 2138m, she can get the right trip from this gate to feature.

SELECTIONS: AMORE VITA (11), STENO (3), NOT TO BE DENIED (1), COVER GIRL (9)
SUGGESTED BET: AMORE VITA (11) to win

RACE THREE

Sent into last week’s Rising Sun first up, the run to hold on for the bronze was enormous from LEAP TO FAME (3) after being left exposed three-wide at the 800m once BETTER ECLIPSE got to the chair. Grafting it out for a top effort, back to his own age and tightened from the run, he should be too classy.

DANGERZONE (1) will be far better suited this week after beaten by the gate last week and forced to do the hard work right when the power went on as MY ULTIMATE RONNIE scorched the last 800m. 2 for 2 when leading, he secures the opportunity to look to pinch it out in front.

CANTFINDABETTORMAN (2) is unbeaten since arriving in the Sunshine State, claiming wins at the mile and then the 2138m from the front. Fighting off a late challenge last week, he has claims again.

TEDDY DISCO (4) was looking for a hat-trick of victories when taking his place in the Redcliffe Derby last start and the effort was full of merit to hold on for the bronze. Where he maps is the concern.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (3), DANGERZONE (1), CANTFINDABETTORMAN (2), TEDDY DISCO (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LEAP TO FAME (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Resuming from a spell last start at Menangle with a slick 1.55.9 mile for his 26th win on the big oval, the multiple G1 winner TOUGH MONARCH (6) returns to Qld. Fitter following the last start victory, he needs to negotiate the tricky gate, but he can press on here to flex his muscle.

GLOBAL FLIGHT (9) has been a revelation since joining forces with Narissa McMullen and could be unbeaten in 5 attempts were it not for a gait break on a sloppy deck two runs back. Stepping straight to the front and leading throughout in the DJA Final last start, he steps up again here with the trailing draw suiting.

CREDIT MASTER (8) has been given no favours from this alley first up and will be needing some factors in his favour to find open running. A last start Melton winner when charging home, his two local trials have been sharp and he will be probing.

WATTS UP MAJESTIC (4) got is campaign back on track last start, ironically after heading back to NSW to claim a G1 4/5YO feature. A big winner first up six starts back, his following five were a mixed bag.

SELECTIONS: TOUGH MONARCH (6), GLOBAL FLIGHT (9), CREDIT MASTER (8), WATTS UP MAJESTIC (4)
SUGGESTED BET: TOUGH MONARCH (6) to win

RACE FIVE

Nothing went right in the Rising Sun last week for BEYOND DELIGHT (6), who started from this same alley and when finding position then was caught in a scrimmage and copped a flat tyre. Searching for late gaps, it was a top effort and fitter after one run back from a break since completing a hat-trick of wins, he can defy this alley to stamp his class.

BIG WHEELS (4) was down the line in the Rising Sun last week, but never really had a clean shot at any point to improve position as LADIES IN RED dominated out in front. Charging home for 2nd to KASHED UP in the Qld Sun the start prior, he can fire some early bullets here to be in a position to challenge.

CAPTAIN CRUSADER (9) secured the good trip in behind the speed in the Redcliffe Cup two runs back and using the inside runs grabbed 3rd. Not much went his way last week from gate 5 in the Rising Sun and with a trial through here, he has podium claims.

KASHED UP (10) has started to find form at the right time for the big races, going into last week’s Rising Sun with successive wins. His run was solid in grabbing 4th and he can be chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: BEYOND DELIGHT (6), BIG WHEELS (4), CAPTAIN CRUSADER (9), KASHED UP (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BEYOND DELIGHT (6) to win

RACE SIX

Resuming from a spell last week in the Fleur De Lil, MAAJIDA (2) found the front in a 28.1 opener and then ambled through the second panel 32.4. That was the end of the section as she is far too classy to be defeated from there and she iced it with a 26.7 sizzler up the stretch. It might be tougher this week, but she is fitter and has the gate to claim yet another G1 in a stellar career.

JERADAS DELIGHT (11) was sectionally strong last week despite nothing at all going in her favour. Soon snookered four back the poles when positions were sorted, she needed some luck and it never arrived and was made even harder when THE HONEY QUEEN galloped in front of her. The gate stings, but she did win this race from this alley last year.

YARRAMAN BELLA (8) has been in nice touch this season, hitting the board at her past 10 in succession, including victory in the G1 Riverina Mare’s Championship. Her effort was full of merit last week when parked and holding on for 3rd and with the cosy trip can again land in the money.

MOMENTSLIKETHESE (6) angled out of the 1x1 trail to give chase to MAAJIDA last week and was game in grabbing the silver when 4m in arrears, running her own last 400 in 26.56. The gate is definitely not sweet.

SELECTIONS: MAAJIDA (2), JERADAS DELIGHT (11), YARRAMAN BELLA (8), MOMENTSLIKETHESE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2 / 6-8-9-11

RACE EIGHT

This edition of the Sunshine Sprint has so many different scenarios to put forward and looks even more open than the early markets suggest. MACH SHARD (9) was slammed with the outside second line last week tracking into the race, was in behind a wall and never fully tested as TRIPLE EIGHT worked off his back to the outside. His previous efforts have been strong, and he can be a knockout.

TRIPLE EIGHT (5) left plenty of watchers speechless last week, unleashing a sharp turn of hoof to round up his opposition in claiming a might impressive victory. That was off the back of a hot tempo in the early stages of the 2138m journey and with the tempo again setting up for some early action, he can look to repeat the close out.

BETTER ECLIPSE (4) was dead game in the Rising Sun last week after making a move at the 800m to sit outside LADIES IN RED and race her to the wire. 4m away. Third up last week, he has already been supported in early trading and can make a play.

SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (2) is a hard read this campaign, perhaps not at his best first up but finding a way to win over the 2680 before looking brilliant second up at 2138m, winning with the appearance of a bit in reserve. Plain to the eye last week, can he bounce back?

SELECTIONS: MACH SHARD (9), TRIPLE EIGHT (5, BETTER ECLIPSE (4), SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH SHARD (9) each-way

RACE NINE

With basically the same field from the same barriers competing in the prelude for this Final last week, finding an alternate result to the dual G1 winner JEWEL MELODY (2) winning again is a difficult prosecution to present. Sent straight to the front and never in danger thereafter, it looks a simple rinse and repeat to become the only 2YO in Australia with three G1s this season.

MY ULTIMATE JACKO (8) was shooting for the hat-trick last start when best of the chasers and getting out of the pack to grab the silver behind JEWEL MELODY. Claiming the APG Bullion two starts back, he will take benefit from last week’s effort and looks best of the rest.

MAYWYNS LA NINA (1) had the sit on JEWEL MELODY in the prelude from this alley and chased gamely to hold on for the bronze over her rivals. With the trip behind the speed, she can place.

MULLUM RUBY (4) claimed the QBRED Breeders two runs back in breaking the maiden tag when swooping over the top. Taking benefit from the first up run in the prelude, she can fill a minor.

SELECTIONS: JEWEL MELODY (2), MY ULTIMATE JACKO (8), MAYWYNS LA NINA (1), MULLUM RUBY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2 / 8 / 1-3-4-7

RACE TEN

A tricky qualifier to close the card over the 2138m where there looks a genuine tempo. Chasing gamely for the silver at her first AP appearance, WINONA WRITER (9) could not reel in the slick winner TRIPLE FOUR and them last start was luckless from back in the pack. With the right cart into the contest, she can arrive.

GOOD AS IT GETS (4) started from inside the second line here three runs back and soon hemmed away, made some nice metres in the closing stages for 3rd to ONE BIG SHEW. A tough 2nd at his next appearance at Redcliffe, he can press on here and with a good record at the trip can challenge.

HEZ DUSTY (1) was first up in Qld last week when finding the poles from gate 2 before making a closing raid to get within a half-neck of the winner. With an economical trip, he can feature.

LADY AVANA (2) made the most of getting a run as the emergency last week and following the inside from the inside 2nd line draw, grabbed the silver behind CANTFINDABETTORMAN. She has podium claims once again.

SELECTIONS: WINONA WRITER (9), GOOD AS IT GETS (4), HEZ DUSTY (1), LADY AVANA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WINONA WRITER (9) to win
