The Cloncurry & DRC non-Tab race meeting scheduled for Saturday September 10 has been rescheduled to be conducted at Mount Isa due to the state of the track.

A QRIC Stewards inspection of the Cloncurry racetrack (also attended by 2 senior jockeys) on raceday morning found a number of small stones remaining on parts of the track surface, making the track unsuitable to race.

The race club had top-dressed the surface of the track prior to the race meeting, but the material used was contaminated with small stones.  The race club worked tirelessly over the past week to remove the stones but could not remediate the surface to an acceptable level.

Due to the rescheduling to Mount Isa, there has been an amendment to the race distance of the Benchmark 55 Hcp 1400m – now becomes 1450m.

The first race will now commence at 2.30pm, with approximate 30 minutes between races.

Race fields (including scratchings) will remain as was declared after final scratchings on Saturday morning.

There will be no fees charged for any scratchings from the rescheduled race meeting at the Mount Isa racetrack.

RQ will also pay a floating rebate for all horses that started at this meeting.

Any late scratchings or jockeys unable to participate contact QRIC Steward Peter Warren  0419 710 978.

This rescheduled race meeting will be a patron free race meeting.
