The Cunnamulla & District Diggers' Race Club non-TAB race meeting scheduled for Saturday, September 24 has been abandoned due to the state of the track.
On Wednesday, approximately 10mm of rainfall was recorded on the racetrack - on top of 50mm the previous week -making the track unsuitable for racing.
Consideration was given to postponing the race meeting to Sunday, but the club could not source essential staff for this to occur.
Horses nominated for the Cunnamulla race meeting may nominate/accept for any other future Queensland race meeting where acceptances have not been declared.
Due to the abandonment, additional races have been added to upcoming race meetings in the Downs region. They are:
CUNNAMULLA & DDRC – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8
- Open Plate (sw) - 1000m - $9,000
MARANOA DRC – SATURDAY OCTOBER 15
- Class B Hcp - 1000m - $10,000
ST GEORGE JC – SATURDAY OCTOBER 22
- Class B Hcp - 1400m - $8,500
