RACE ONE

Despite coming up with the outside second line gate, this race looks at the mercy of BLACKSADANCE (10). Finding easy conditions last start from the front in a small field of 4, he only had to dart up the stretch which he did in a slippery 26.8 to score. A tragedy beaten the start prior; he looks to have their measure.

TOMMY LINCOLN (5) was due to resume last week but was a late withdrawal on race day. Last seen when starting favourite in early July, he tried to take them all the way, but the 26.6 opening split proved too costly as he faded. Buried in the Redcliffe Cup two starts back, he trialled nicely for the return.

BIG WHEELS (7) has no favours from the outside paint as he goes in search of the three on the bounce. Taking out the 4YO Triad Final last start with a dominant display when sent forward from the second line, he needs to take another step here.

MISTERFREEZE (9) cashed in back in veteran’s grade four starts back and then two runs back was strong to the line when just 2m from the winner COLT THIRTY ONE. He can chine in for some minor money.

SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (10), TOMMY LINCOLN (5), BIG WHEELS (7), MISTERFREEZE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (10) to win

RACE TWO

In a race that throws up a messy early set up, it might pay to stick with the most impressive winner from last week in MUFASA (8). Buried four back on the poles, he was angled wider on the turn and charged over the top to a stylish victory. Only just peaking late first up here two starts back, the tempo can suit a repeat effort.

JENDEN STRIKE (2) has been super at the mile in her past two starts and should appreciate moving out to the middle trip here where her record is super. Eased from gate 7 early before charging hard to arrive two runs back, she was best of the rest behind LOVE YOUR WORK last time. From the gate she can throw it down.

ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (7) cops a stinker out in 7 but he is always super consistent and comes into this after hitting the board in 6 of his past 7. Working hard as UNCLE SHANK scorched the track last week and still holding on for 3rd, he is a podium hope despite the gate.

MISTERY ROAD (3) was luckless last time from inside the second line where he was buried in the run and never found an opening to make a play. Scoring easily two starts back, the 2138m asks some questions.

SELECTIONS: MUFASA (8), JENDEN STRIKE (2), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (7), MISTERY ROAD (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MUFASA (8) to win

RACE THREE

Sent out as the equal favourite here last week, MAJOR JAROD (9) was still last at the 400m and facing a task that was too great as he tried to take shortcuts back along the passing lane. 3rd two starts back behind BIG WHEELS in the Triad Final, he can get a better trip this week to take his shot.

PARAMA (4) settled in the running line from gate 3 last start over the mile before making a strong closing challenge in slick splits to be under 6m from the winner. Beaten by a wide gate the start prior when retreating to the rear before trying to make closing metres, tempo will be his friend here.

THERESACHANCE (2) should appreciate a return to this grade after stepping into B5 company last week and firing out from gate 4 to lead before taking the trail and finishing back in the pack. He can fire some early bullets again.

MIGHTY GEORGE (6) faces the tricky gate here after three runs back from a spell. Putting in an eye-catcher last start at Redcliffe, he was wide off the track in attacking the line smartly in strong splits.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR JAROD (9), PARAMA (4), THERESACHANCE (2), MIGHTY GEORGE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR JAROD (9) to win

RACE FOUR

Starting from inside the second line last time out when just 3m from the winner, SQUIRE (3) will appreciate a return to the front line for this contest. Game in defeat after sitting parked two runs back as THE HONEY QUEEN arrived, he comes into this battle fresh up and finds the gate to capitalise.

THREE IN HEAVEN (6) was huge in taking victory here last week after sitting parked throughout from gate 2. With a sub 27 opening panel it was a tenacious effort to claim a 4m margin in a slick 1.52.8 mile. Beaten an eyelash in a similar race here three starts back, he will throw it down once again.

AUNTY BELLA (7) gets handed the 7 again but was able to defy the same alley here last week in claiming a mare’s qualifier. Taking the Mare’s Triad Final, the start prior, the threepeat is a big ask.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1) found UNCLE SHANK too slick here last Saturday night and has been around again midweek where he was just 3m from the winner. The peg trip is in his favour.

SELECTIONS: SQUIRE (3), THREE IN HEAVEN (6), AUNTY BELLA (7), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SQUIRE (3) to win

RACE FIVE

Runner-up at his past two starts which have been at the mile and middle trip, THE GROGFATHER (3) has gone under as the race favourite on each occasion. From the passing lane last start he was 2m from SWAYZEE when trying to take the closing shot. The early map is the query, but he looks up to the task.

SWAYZEE (2) was large in victory here last start at the mile. Three and four wide through the first 400m before getting to the chair, he then grafted out the victory in strong time. Taking further benefit from the run, which was his fourth run back from a spell, he has the gate to throw it down.

GOOD AS IT GETS (1) lands a fence marble having copped some wider alleys in recent outings. Beaten in red figures two starts back behind MISTERY ROAD, he has the options to be in the mix.

BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (6) has been a model of consistency in recent outings, his latest when strong over the Redcliffe 1780m after sitting parked. Charging home in a 70Final here two runs back, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: THE GROGFATHER (3), SWAYZEE (2), GOOD AS IT GETS (1), BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Facing gate 10 on QStars night in a similar type of race, MAYWYN TROUBADOR (4) moved forward to sit parked as the race favourite but could not reel in the leader and winner SWEET LOMBO. Just 5m away the start prior from the flying THE HIGH COMMANDER when sitting parked, finding the front can change his fortunes.

FUTURE ASSURED (7) tackled the 3YO Boys Triad Final last start from gate 1 where he secured the cosy trip in behind the speed. Runner up to the same winner CAPTAIN SHUFFLES in the heats, he has no favours from the wide gate and will be needing to work at some stage to issue the challenge.

ONE LAST ROLL (6) secured a strong win on QStars night when sent forward to take control and took them all the way to claim a career PB. Just 2m in arrears the start prior, he is again in the mix.

HEADWIN (8) has the second line options as the only runner out the back. Beaten by gate 7 last start when forced to retreat, he can be joining in.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (4), FUTURE ASSURED (7), ONE LAST ROLL (6), HEADWIN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

Just the small field will do battle here which is a help for the chances of KINGDOM COME (1). Last start from this same lane he held on for the silver behind FATHER CHRISTMAS when 5m in arrears. With the chance to get the ideal trip and out to the 13 furlongs, he can celebrate the sesqui centenary of race appearances in style.

KING OF THE NORTH (3) made the most of mobile conditions here last week, finding the front and rolling through the panels in front to hold them off in claiming a 4m margin. A beaten favourite the start prior when making an error in midweek company, a win will take his tally to ten wins from fifty starts.

GEE UP NEDDY (4) started from 10m here tow starts back and rolling forward was able to stroll to the front and once in control held off the challengers. Strong to the line last start from the 2138m mobile for 2nd to VAN SANK, his starting manners are a big asset, and he looms large.

SELECTIONS: KINGDOM COME (1), KING OF THE NORTH (3), GEE UP NEDDY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: KINGDOM COME (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

Finding the x1 trail here last week, LUCKY NUTTER (8) chased in vain as the race was controlled in front by UPTOWN BEACHGIRL, denying the chasers with a 27.6 closing panel. Her run three starts back was a smart effort to be just a head away and was followed with a luckless run. Stalking the speed, she will be ready to strike in the stretch.

PLATINUM REVOLUTION (1) has been crying out to secure a decent gate, having been no closer than gate 5 in her 9 appearances since joining the Trent Dawson barn. Taken back early from gate 6 last week before trying to make a closing raid, it followed a 6m margin when sitting parked from gate 7. Burrowing through to hold them wide, she will throw it down.

GIRL FROM OZ (2) is another that should appreciate an improved alley after starting from gate 6 last start which followed three successive inside second line gates that didn’t work out. Settling handy, she is right in the fight.

WEEWAH (10) slotted into the 1x1 trail last start but could not eat into the deficit as AUNTY BELLA claimed the prize. A beaten favourite at Redcliffe the start prior, she is a podium hope with the right trip.

SELECTIONS: LUCKY NUTTER (8), PLATINUM REVOLUTION (1), GIRL FROM OZ (2), WEEWAH (10)
SUGGESTED BET: LUCKY NUTTER (8) to win
