The annual non-TAB meeting at Surat Diggers Race Club on Saturday, September 3 has been postponed to be conducted by the Roma Turf Club on Sunday, September 4.
Rain commenced falling after lunchtime on Friday afternoon (following on from showers earlier in the week), and with rain still falling, making the track unsuitable to race.
Due to the rescheduling to Bassett Park, Roma, the distance of the Benchmark Hcp 1400m has been amended to 1640m.
A “phantom” betting meeting will still be conducted by Surat on Saturday at the racecourse with all facilities available.
All scratchings from the Surat race meeting have been reinstated, with trainers to lodge scratchings for the Roma meeting with Racing Australia prior to 7.45am Sunday, September 4.
Due to the postponement, there will be no fees charged for the Roma race meeting.
Race times for the Roma TC meeting on Sunday are:
- Race 1 - 11am
- Race 2 - 11.30am
- Race 3 - 12 noon
- Race 4 - 12.30pm
- Race 5 - 1pm
- Race 6 - 1.30pm
