Racing Queensland today confirms details of a travel subsidy for Bundaberg-based trainers to race and trial outside the Bundaberg region.

Eligible trainers will receive a travel subsidy of $100 at Queensland race meetings outside Bundaberg where they have at least one starter.

The subsidy will commence at race meetings from September 5, 2022, and payments will be automatically made to trainers on a weekly basis.

Furthermore, the travel subsidy will also be offered at Rockhampton trial sessions from Friday October 21, 2022. The Rockhampton Greyhound Racing Club will offer these trials at no cost to the Bundaberg-based trainers.

The following eligibility conditions apply for the travel subsidy:

  • The trainer must hold a current trainer’s license and must reside in the Bundaberg region, defined as Gympie (post code area 4570) to Seventeen Seventy (post code area 4677).
  • The trainer must have raced at Bundaberg at least once between April 1, 2022, and July 25, 2022.

The travel subsidy will only be offered once on the same day (e.g., if racing and trialing at Rockhampton on the same day).

The travel subsidy will apply in addition to the Bundaberg Greyhound Care Assistance Fund. The travel subsidy will cease when the Bundaberg Greyhound Racing Club resumes racing following the track modification works currently being undertaken.
