Albion Park double for ‘Dance’

The Rocknroll Hanover horse A Rocknroll Dance, who is standing his first season at stud in Queensland, took the siring honours at Albion Park on Saturday night with a double in consecutive races.

Dance In The Sun, a former New Zealander prepared by Chantal and Pete McMullen, who stand A Rocknroll Dance at their Somerset Farms, finished strongly along the passing lane to notch her 10th success.

No more than 30 minutes later, the three-year-old Uptown Beachgirl led throughout and sliced two seconds off her lifetime mark, rating 1:52.5 for 1660 metres. She has now won six races.

Earlier in the week Allambie, another A Rocknroll Dance mare from the McMullen barn, saluted for the sixth time at Redcliffe.

A Rocknroll Dance sired winners in six different states and four countries last week.

He was represented by winning doubles at both Ballarat (Duke Of Dundee NZ and Ghost Of Time) and Wagga (Dance Addition 1:54.6 and Island Rocknroll).

The Canola Cup Silver Consolation winner Taste Of Diamonds NZ, Shazzam (Mildura and Ouyen), Tic Tact (1:56.7), A Rocknroll Star NZ (1:56.6), Rocknreturn NZ (1:56.9) and the SA Platinum Pacing Cup heat winner Dancing Finn (1:57.5) were other recent winners sired by A Rocknroll Dance.

Donmaro, a three-year-old gelding, made it five wins from nine starts at Addington, New Zealand, while, in North America, A Rocknroll Dance left fast winners in the three-year-old Hecandancencruise (1:51.8), Don’t Judge A Book (1:51.8) and Rockme Rollme (1:51.8).

A Rocknroll Dance is currently in eighth position on the Australian all aged sires’ list with 156 individual winners and $3.16 million in progeny earnings.

He is second on the three-year-old winner’s list and sixth in prize money.
