RACE ONE

THE WEEKEND (2) is 1 from 1 here at the Peninsula after claiming victory three runs back at his first appearance in Qld. Too strong over the closing stages in that contest, he followed it with a gritty 2nd after sitting parked, before going under as the fav last start. Moving into gate 1, he looks too sharp.

KATACHA MAN (9) tackled a strong qualifier on Saturday night and stuck to the poles to grab 4th behind SOEXTRA. Down the line the start prior when it was a SOEXTRA and BETTOR JIGGLE breakaway, he should appreciate a return to Redcliffe to challenge from the second line.

MISSTREPO (8) appreciated a strong tempo up front last time out and saved for the closing rally, had too much closing speed to arrive for the prize. She will be relying on a similar pattern again.

IDEAL TIGER (7) eased into the 1x1 trail last start in a 70Heat and was midfield when 7m from the winner MISTERY ROAD. Tucked away from this alley, he will be searching for the openings.

SELECTIONS: THE WEEKEND (2), KATACHA MAN (9), MISSTREPO (8), IDEAL TIGER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: THE WEEKEND (2) TO WIN

RACE TWO

IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (5) faces an awkward draw and will need to alter his stats here at The Triangle where he is yet to land a victory. Returning from a let up last start, he was strong to the line when 7m in arrears of SAILALONG SINBAD. Fitter for that run, he can look to capitalise.

JOHNROD (6) overcame the second line here last week when pressing through and the grinding away wide off the track to pull clear and post a 13m winning margin. The gate stings but with his one pace pattern, he can press on and try to out stay them at his 50th appearance on this deck.

FORTES IN FIDE (1) was angled to the poles last start and made some closing metres over the AP mile as THE CASUAL GOOSE arrived. The gate is a huge asset for this contest.

ALLAMBIE (9) showed some early hustle here last start but was forced to ease into the 1x1 trail and then held on for 3rd behind the fast-finishing MISSTREPO. Hitting the board in 7 of 9 here, she can chime into the money once more.

SELECTIONS: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (5), JOHNROD (6), FORTES IN FIDE (1), ALLAMBIE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (5) to win

RACE THREE

GETALOADATHISBRO (5)
felt the pinch of a tough trip last start when sitting parked and working hard before wilting to the rear of the pack as BELLA BRONSKI claimed a big win. Grabbed late by PRESS STATEMENT the start prior after setting the pace, in this line up he looks the one to stop.

FEELING THE POWER (8) will take further benefit from his latest outing where he was second up from a spell. Facing gate 6 in that battle, he eased early before working home in the latter stages to grab the bronze behind DATSINAHURRI. With the right trail after release, he can issue a challenge.

BERTILS FIREFOX (4) had this gate last start and was forced to retreat to the rear to secure position. That was the end of his chances and if he can settle closer this time, he can feature.

ABBEY DIADEMA (9) was midfield last starts when trying to make a closing raid as SHAKATIE took them all the way. Strong to the line two back when 2m away, she can be closing out here.

SELECTIONS: GETALOADATHISBRO (5), FEELING THE POWER (8), BERTILS FIREFOX (4), ABBEY DIADEMA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GETALOADATHISBRO (5) to win

RACE FOUR

MOTU AMETHYST (2)
started from outside the second line here last week and settling in the running line was attacking the line in fine style over the closing stages to get within a head of the winner. Snaring her best gate in recent attempts, she has the options to stake her claim.

THE RAGNBONE MAN (4) was not suited last start when doing some early work and was unable to go on with it as PRESS STATEMENT took the prize. Fading from back in the pack two starts back, he is best when up on the engine and he finds the gate and conditions to issue the challenge.

SIGNOR JUJON (5) retreated from the wide gate last week and from deep in the pack was then trying to weave a passage through traffic, finishing 3m from the winner. He can be closing out hard.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (1) has the tight gate and does have the speed to hold them wide if required here. Just 3m from JET FORCE here two starts back, the gate advantage boosts his claims.

SELECTIONS: MOTU AMETHYST (2), THE RAGNBONE MAN (4), SIGNOR JUJON (5), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-4-5

RACE FIVE

LIVING FREE (3)
was first up for the new stable last start when facing gate 6 over the AP mile. Taken off the arm to settle at the rear, he was picking off some closing metres to be 7m from the winner LOOKS JUST RIGHT. With the chance to utilise his speed off the arm, he can capitalise.

LURKING (2) started form this gate last week and without the speed to get across was forced to do the heavy lifting outside the leader. Grafting it out to be under 4m from the winner, he might need to hang tough again here to issue the challenge.

CANNAN (9) grabbed 3rd last start when eased to the poles from this same gate and then hitting the line smartly to be just 3m in arrears. This is no tougher and he can be joining in again.

MISTER WOODPORT (6) started from the second line last start when settling rearward before chiming in for the bronze behind RISKY BUZINESS at Marburg. The gate dents his chances.

SELECTIONS: LIVING FREE (3), LURKING (2), CANNAN (9), MISTER WOODPORT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVING FREE (3) to win

RACE SIX

SUNNY COVE (3)
will strip fitter after his return to the track last start where he was strong to the line when 3rd and under 5m from the winner BETTOR KEEP ROCKING. Just a half-head from FAST TRACKER two starts back before being shut down for a break, he finds the ideal conditions here.

KASE (1) was sent forward and asked to sit parked last start over the AP mile before working to the front with 1000m left to travel. Fading in the closing stages, he lands the gate to chase down his first Qld victory and is presented with all the options.

ARKIN WICKED (5) is a 2YO tackling the older horses first up here after being shut down following his last outing back in August. That was in a strong 2YO contest where he was 4th behind WISPER A SECRET. The gate stings fresh.

IRON ANNIE (8) should take some benefit from her first Qld appearance here last start in stronger company when finishing an 11m 4th behind PRESS STATEMENT. She can press through to feature.

SELECTIONS: SUNNY COVE (3), KASE (1), ARKIN WICKED (5), IRON ANNIE (8)
SUGGESTED BET:  SUNNY COVE (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

MAJOR RUMBLE (8)
should take plenty of benefit from his return where he was first up in over 12-months. Finishing 4m in arrears of subsequent winner GO THE RED, it was a handy effort from the wide gate. Despite the second line, he finds a suitable assignment to open the account.

SHESFEELINSPECIAL (1) will strip fitter after her return to the track last start where she took on a tougher contest at Marburg. A return to maiden company from this alley should be a huge plus and with the right trip she can be making a play.

VILLAGE SMIRKER (5) was at the rear of the pack last start and did not get warm over the latter stages as STAR OF THE ARTS took the win. Positioning cheaply can see him grab a minor.

TUFFY (4) started from inside the second line last time out and never featured as STUDLEIGH PATRICIA took the win. This maiden looks open outside the main chance.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR RUMBLE (8), SHESFEELINSPECIAL (1), VILLAGE SMIRKER (5), TUFFY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR RUMBLE (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

MATAI REACTOR (1)
started from inside the second line last week and was snookered in the run and never had a crack at them when 8m in arrears. Trying to make a closing raid from the 1x1 trail two starts back when 3m away, he can be tucked away ready to capitalise.

BATMAN BART (4) was chasing a hat-trick of victories last start when buried in the run from an inside second line gate and never found open road. Charging over the top of them to go back-to-back here two starts back, he can benefit on any tempo to issue the challenge.

WONDERWOMAN JUJON (9) looks best placed of the swoopers if they go too hard up front. Charging over the top to score here two starts back, she will be ready to descend.

DATSINAHURRI (3) was back in winning form last week and showed the advantage she takes when able to control the speed. If she can get across here and pinch a panel, a repeat is within reach.

SELECTIONS: MATAI REACTOR (1), BATMAN BART (4), WONDERWOMAN JUJON (9), DATSINAHURRI (3)
SUGGESTED BET:
