RACE ONE

THE WEEKEND (2) was sent out in red figures last start and gave his supporters a few heart palpitations in the closing stages after settling behind the leader. Waiting for the passing lane, it appeared he was not going to get through but arrived in the last stride. 2 from 2 her on The Triangle, the threepeat is on.

BEACH MAGIC (3) landed gate 1 at the 2040m last start where he released the speed and then was trying to take a shot up the passing lane but had his momentum momentarily stalled and he couldn’t pick up late, finishing 6m from the swooping winner. Settling up near the speed, he can challenge.

SMOOTH CASH (8) does his best work when rolling out in front, a position he capitalised upon here two starts back when taking them all the way at the sprint trip. Fading after a tough trip last start, he can follow through to land a handy spot here.

ROSES ARE SWEET (9) worked across from gate 4 last start before securing the 1x1 trail. Trying to make a closing rally, she was hitting the line in nice order when 2m from the winner. Tempo will help her chances.

SELECTIONS: THE WEEKEND (2), BEACH MAGIC (3), SMOOTH CASH (8), ROSES ARE SWEET (9)
SUGGESTED BET: THE WEEKEND (2) to win

RACE TWO

ROCKSLIDE (5) was second up from a spell last time out where he was sent to the front from gate 3 where he was looking to see it out. Grabbed in the last stride by THE WEEKEND that had the cold sit, it was just a half-head margin. The wider gate stings, but with added fitness will be fighting.

WOSTOLEMYPIGEON (1) did some early work last start before cover arrived and then he was making a closing rally to be under 2m from the winner to grab the bronze. With every benefit from the gate, he secures the options and can be issuing the challenge.

ALLAMBIE (8) was a winner here last week from gate 9 when working home wide off the track and owning superior closing power, sweeping by to a 5m margin. With the right cart into this, she looms.

MERGE RIGHT (2) darted across from this gate last start to take control and from the front was able to take them all the way. Showing the benefits of lighting the lamps, she can feature again.

SELECTIONS: ROCKSLIDE (5), WOSTOLEMYPIGEON (1), ALLAMBIE (8), MERGE RIGHT (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

MASTER CHARLES (4)
is a three-time winner on this deck and should appreciate a front-line gate. Placed at his past four in succession at headquarters, he was a beaten fav last start when taking control over the mile but collared up the passing lane. He can look for another victory here.

MYSTICAL JAZZ (1) is a big beneficiary of an improved alley after facing some wide gates in recent attempts. Chasing hard last start after working in the run as MISS MIA arrived, she was wide off the track from outside the second line at Marburg two back. She has all the options to challenge.

VODKA EN ICE (2) was forced to do his share of work last start when wide off the track from the second line when put into the contest in the early stages. Settled close to the action, he can chime in.

BETTING BARON (7) looks set to enjoy the cosy trip in behind the speed here and will be awaiting the gaps. Runner-up to JOHNROD here two starts back when wide off he track, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: MASTER CHARLES (4), MYSTICAL JAZZ (1), VODKA EN ICE (2), BETTING BARON (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MASTER CHARLES (4) to win

RACE FOUR

BETTOR ROCKNROLL (4)
started in red figures here three starts back at the 2040m trip and despite doing it the tough way, was able to graft it out to claim victory by a head margin. Striking trouble from gate 7 over the AP mile at his next start, he faced a torrid trip last start and can bounce back.

TRACER BULLET (2) had a dip for the front last start but was repelled and then sitting parked wilted under the toll. Beaten by gate 6 the start prior, the run was full of merit when under 2m from the winner in a blanket finish. Finding the pegs first will be a huge asset in this contest.

BRILLIANT ART (8) secured the pocket trail last time from inside the second line and was trying to make a closing play in grabbing the bronze. Its been a while since her last win which is a concern.

KUDOS MASON (1) was a winner here three starts back when finishing over the top of them in the closing stages to grab a narrow margin. Not the quickest off the arm, he will be burrowing through.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR ROCKNROLL (4), TRACER BULLET (2), BRILLIANT ART (8), KUDOS MASON (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR ROCKNROLL (4) to win

RACE FIVE

AWAYOVERNIGHT (3)
made his Qld debut with an all the way victory here from gate 3 and followed that with a silver behind CANONLYBEONESIR. A beaten fav last start when snookered on the poles from inside the second line as HEAR THE CALL scored, he can press on with it here to capitalise.

LORD DENZEL (1) finished rearward last start after angling to the pegs from gate 2 to be locked away three back. Just a half-head away here three starts back when securing the 1x1 trail, he has the gate to kick through early and with the available options issue the challenge.

DARBY BRIGHTS (4) has placed in 4 of her past 6, the latest when grabbing the bronze after being buried in the run as DOWNTOWN LUCCA kicked clear. She may need to do some work in this.

THREE MACHS (7) is at her best with a soft trip and from this gate should be able to secure that here. Best of the chasers two starts back, she can be ready to make a closing play.

SELECTIONS: AWAYOVERNIGHT (3), LORD DENZEL (1), DARBY BRIGHTS (4), THREE MACHS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: AWAYOVERNIGHT (3) to win

RACE SIX

PUSHINIT UPHILL (5)
has the wide gate to negotiate but should find this level of opposition well below what he has been meeting in recent outings. 6m from MY ULTIMATE VICTOR last start, he was the beaten fav two back behind MAYWYN TROUBADOR. He finds his chance to capitalise.

EXCITING TIMES (8) is a 2YO filly returning from a spell after winning on debut here back in May. That was against her own age where she was able to find the front, walk them early and pull clear for an easy 9m victory. With a tidy trial to prepare, she can be joining in.

BLACKJACK BETH (2) opened her account over the AP mile four starts back when taking them all the way. Beaten behind some smart 2YO fillies at each of her next three, she has the gate to feature.

IRON ANNIE (3) settled in the 1x1 trail from a second line gate here last week when finishing down the line behind ARKIN WICKED. Settling handy she is a podium hope in this set up.

SELECTIONS: PUSHINIT UPHILL (5), EXCITING TIMES (8), BLACKJACK BETH (2), IRON ANNIE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: PUSHINIT UPHILL (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

HEAR THE CALL (4)
was first up back in Qld for the Butler stable last start. Off the back of a tidy trail, he rolled forward from gate 5 to sit parked and was able to grind out the victory with 3m to spare on the wire. He finds a race no tougher and can get forward again to stake his claim.

MATAI REACTOR (8) settled in the trail here last week and with the cosy trip in behind the speed, had the pace to arrive up the passing lane to a 4m margin. Luckless two starts back, he can secure the right spot in the running line to make a closing challenge in this contest.

ROCCO VARIETY (6) was a Marburg winner three starts back when pressing on to take control from gate 4 and lead throughout. Placed in both runs since, he is a podium player again despite the gate.

MY ULTIMATE HESTON (7) eased to the running line from gate 4 last start and with the right tempo was able to sail home over the top in the closing stages. Likely to be hemmed away, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: HEAR THE CALL (4), MATAI REACTOR (8), ROCCO VARIETY (6), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (7)
SUGGESTED BET: HEAR THE CALL (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

GULMARG (1)
was a winner here two starts back at the 1780m trip when settled behind the leader and making the closing shot a winning one. Just 6m away in a tougher contest last week, he was just a half-neck from the winner at this trip four back from the trail from this same gate. Options appeal.

JET FORCE (9) started from gate 1 last time out over the AP mile and looked set to enjoy the perfect trip, only to be buried soon after the start. A winner here three back when arriving over the top, he can look to get into the running line and be making a closing challenge.

CIRCLE LINE (2) started from inside the second line last time and using the passing lane was making late ground to be 4m in arrears of the winner. A winner four back, he can settle handy to feature.

MAJOR TRALEE (8) has not had much go his way at his past two starts where he has been drawn wide off the front line in each. Hitting the board in all four previous starts, he can be joining in.

SELECTIONS: GULMARG (1), JET FORCE (9), CIRCLE LINE (2), MAJOR TRALEE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-9

RACE NINE

TUFFY (2)
eased to the poles last start and was snookered away before finding some space to grab the bronze. Buried in the run two starts back, he gets the alley here to look to roll forward. Looking a one-paced customer, he can look to keep it rolling to get on the board.

VILLAGE SMIRKER (4) has been runner-up in 2 of his past 4 starts, the latest when having an early dip from gate 4 before sitting parked after being repelled. Fighting it out in a slogging run to the wire, he might need to graft it out again here to throw down the challenge.

BETS ON MILLIE (6) returns from just on 12-months off the scene and has joined the States premiership leading stable of Jack Butler. With a tidy trial against her name, she stays under watch.

EXWHYGEETEE (9) was midfield last start after sliding across from gate 6 to find position. The second line makes it tougher, but he can be making a play to finish on the podium in this line up.

SELECTIONS: TUFFY (2), VILLAGE SMIRKER (4), BETS ON MILLIE (6), EXWHYGEETEE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TUFFY (2) to win

RACE TEN

HOLLYWOODBOUND (3)
has gained the ticket back into the main draw after being on the ODM embargo at her past two starts. Given the tag after her run two starts back, she was sent for a spell and resumed with a 3rd from gate 5. With good hustle, she finds conditions to open the account.

ENGLISH DANCE (7) should take good benefit from his return from a spell when using the passing lane to grab the silver last start behind DARED TO DREAM. He did not get the smoothest passage in that contest and despite a tricky gate, can be searching for a way clear to challenge.

POTTER (5) has placed in 4 of his past 5 starts, the latest when hemmed away from inside the second line and making some nice metres in the latter stages. The wider gate stings here.

HOLLADOR DAISY (1) was runner-up from this gate two starts back when settled in the trail and finishing 3m from the winner MAJORMISS. Back to The Triangle from this gate she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: HOLLYWOODBOUND (3), ENGLISH DANCE (7), POTTER (5), HOLLADOR DAISY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HOLLYWOODBOUND (3) to win
