The brave, fighting win of Uptown Beachgirl in the Group 3 $31,768 Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale 3YO Fillies Classic at Albion Park provided the highlight of another busy week for A Rocknroll Dance, who stands at Pete and Chantal McMullen’s Somerset Farms stud.

Uptown Beachgirl, who started from gate five, was forced to work overtime in the early part before assuming control at the 1200-metre mark.

It was her seventh success and spiked her stake earnings to almost $70,000.

A Rocknroll Dance left 25 individual winners for the week across four countries.

He sired a winning treble at Ashburton, New Zealand with the two-year-old filly Jubilee Rock (1:57.8) and the three-year-olds Woodbine Rocks and Tempo Warrior and a winning double at Newcastle with Nifty Studleigh (1:55.5) and the NZ bred three-year-old Home And (1:55.7).

Other recent Australian winners sired by A Rocknroll Dance were A Perfect Dance, a winner in 1:57.7 at Cranbourne, Chubby Checker NZ (Kilmore), Island Rocknroll (Shepparton and Cobram), the three-year-olds Im Princess Bella (Mildura) and Rock On Top (Bunbury).

In North America, A Rocknroll Dance was represented by the fast winners Go Dancing (1:51.8), Premier Rockstar (1:52.2), The Bird Dance NZ (1:52.2), Kickupyaheels NZ (1:52.4) and Larry Karr (1:52.4).

A Rockroll Dance is in ninth position on the Australian all aged sire list with $3.5 million and 167 individual winners including 54 three-year-olds. He is second on the three-year-old winner’s table.
