Punters will soon have access to enhanced sectional data for races across all three codes in Queensland.

Racing Queensland has today announced an agreement with tripleSdata that will see real-time tracking technology and sectional timings for thoroughbred and harness racing available online.

The new service will be provided to customers and stakeholders via Sky Racing’s broadcast and digital platforms, through the individual clubs, and on Racing Queensland’s website.

The rollout will occur in two phases, with data for all Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Toowoomba thoroughbred meetings already available on the RQ website.

The completion of the Phase 1 rollout will see data for all Albion Park and Redcliffe harness meetings available in the near future.

Phase 2 – set to commence in early 2023 – will see timings introduced for Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton and Townsville thoroughbred meetings.

In total, nine thoroughbred clubs across the state will have access to sectional data, following the Brisbane Racing Club’s rollout earlier this year as a part of the Queensland Racing Carnival.

The completion of both phases will ensure that sectional data and analysis will be available for more than three quarters of all TAB meetings in the state.

Timing systems for the greyhound code have been undergoing testing from multiple vendors, with a preferred supplier and installation to be completed at both the Brisbane and Ipswich Greyhound Racing Clubs by March, 2023.

Racing Queensland CEO Brendan Parnell said the rollout of reliable, accurate, and relevant sectional data is a win for all industry stakeholders.

“We are delighted to partner with tripleSdata to deliver sectional times for Queensland’s racing product,” he said.

“This announcement is a win for punters, participants, and broadcasters who will have access to more analytical data than ever before here in Queensland.

“At the conclusion of Phase 2, around 75% of all Queensland TAB meetings will have this data available, and we look forward to being able to continue that roll out across the state in FY24.”

tripleSdata founder and CEO Carlos Santo said that they are proud to be working with Racing Queensland.

“It’s an honour to partner with RQ in delivering world leading sectional timing technologies to racecourses and tracks across the state,” he said.

“We know that rich data drives engagement with racing, and with coverage that will soon encompass three quarters of Queensland's TAB meetings, punters and industry professionals will have the benefit of this added depth of data for form analysis at their disposal."
