RACE ONE

After finishing midfield last start from the 20m tape, HAMMER SON (7) should appreciate a slightly smaller field size. Buried in the run last start, two back he was rattling home when 2m in deficit behind JACCKA WATCH. With the right cart home, he can look to start the season in style.

YEA YOU (9) was put into the contest in the early stages last time from the 30m tape before receiving cover. Trying to raise a closing rally in holding 3rd, it followed a 2nd when only beaten a head by BOURBONONTHEROCKS. This sets up for him to throw down the challenge.

SET ME FREE (2) was off the front tape last start when stepping cleanly, releasing and then holding on for the silver behind NORTIE NORTIE. With a similar tag and release set up, she can feature.

ALLANON (1) ducked in behind the speed last start and was soon three back on the inside when holding 3rd. With the right getaway, he can be in the right position to land in the money again.

SELECTIONS: HAMMER SON (7), YEA YOU (9), SET ME FREE (2), ALLANON (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HAMMER SON (7) to win

RACE TWO

Having tackled the AP 2138m trip just once previously when holding 3rd, the race looks to set up nicely for DELTA THREE (5). In the money in 4 of her 5 appearances here at HQ, the latest was a tough effort when holding on for 3rd after doing the work outside the leader. This is within reach.

FOUR FOR FOUR (1) was forced to park out last start and despite looking a spent force on the home turn, dropped back to the inside and then grafted out the win up the passing lane. With the inside alley advantage, if limiting the work over the 2138m trip, she can throw it down.

SHEREACTS (4) has been runner-up at her past two starts, the latest when finding the front and then only collared in the last strides. Pressing forward again can see her In the mix.

DEVOUGED (8) was a winner here three starts back when pressing to the front over the mile and fighting them off. Wide in the closing stages last start, he has second line options.

SELECTIONS: DELTA THREE (5), FOUR FOR FOUR (1), SHEREACTS (4), DEVOUGED (8)
SUGGESTED BET: DELTA THREE (5) to win

RACE THREE

Sent to the post as the fav last start from gate 4 last start, CALVERT HOT SHOT (2) pressed forward off the arm but with no position on the pointy end available was forced to be snagged to the rear. Rattling home in the stretch to grab 3rd, he can settle forward and capitalise.

TELL ME THIS (9) was soon hemmed away from gate 1 last start over the mile and just peaked halfway up the stretch after the cosy trip in behind the speed. That was a tougher contest than what he gets to square off against this time and with the right trail through early can challenge.

BRAEVIEW FELLA (3) started off the second line last start when unable to go with them in the closing stages. Setting the speed two back when collared in the stretch, he has podium claims in this.

LA PISTOLA (1) is effective from the trail and should secure the easy trip here to look for the passing lane. A Marburg winner two starts back, he attacks this fresh, with the gate a big asset.

SELECTIONS: CALVERT HOT SHOT (3), TELL ME THIS (9), BRAEVIEW FELLA (3), LA PISTOLA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CALVERT HOT SHOT (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Yet to miss the top-two in six appearances here at The Creek, ISNTTHATRIGHT (6) finds suitable conditions to chase down another victory. Holding them out from gate 1 last start, he was worried out of it by SHEZ ALL STYLE. A winner at his previous three in succession, he can bounce back.

RISKY BUZINESS (3) did not have the smoothest passage last start when finishing in the second half of the pack. Sent to sit parked from the second line and grafting it out for the silver at Marburg two starts back, he can get forward here to issue a challenge.

LORD DENZEL (1) secures the options off the ace and has the early hustle to set the tempo if required. Beaten by gate 6 last start when retreating, the improved gate puts him in the mix.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9) started fav last time out at Redcliffe from a wide front-line gate but never got warm in the closing stages. Grabbing the silver behind ISNTTHATRIGHT three back, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: ISNTTHATRIGHT (6), RISKY BUZINESS (3), LORD DENZEL (1), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ISNTTHATRIGHT (6) to win

RACE FIVE

After settling deep in the pack last start at Redcliffe, MY ULTIMATE HESTON (4) was able to pick off some good metres in the closing stages to grab the silver. With is previous two starts from the second line, he can settle handy enough to take his shot in an open contest.

THE CROM (3) made the most of the economical trip in behind the speed last start and was able to use the passing lane to dart through to grab the prize. Landing a spot cheaply from this gate can see him in the right position to issue another challenge.

BEE GEES BEST (2) should appreciate the wider expanse on offer here at The Creek after seeing plenty of Redcliffe. Forced to retreat so secure position last start, he can be closer to the action.

EAGLES RESPONSE (5) was asked to grind it out when sitting parked last start at Redcliffe and likely will need to be working in the run again. Fighting on for 2nd last start, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE HESTON (4), THE CROM (3), BEE GEES BEST (2), EAGLES RESPONSE (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

After missing the money in his first campaign, ENGLISH DANCE (1) returned in style, hitting the board in 6 of 7 appearances to close out the term, which included a pair of wins. A tough 2nd from the chair at Redcliffe last start, he has all the options to capitalise.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (8) is in search of the hat-trick after successive wins here at this trip. Both wins have been when doing it tough outside the leader, the latest when showing too much grit and claiming a career PB in the process. Tucked away here, she will be probing for gaps chasing the threepeat.

CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (9) was taken back from gate 7 last start to settle on the pegs and from there was never in the mix. Wilting the start prior, he can follow through to feature in this.

OUR BOY ROY (3) was making ground along the passing lane last start and just missed the money when 4th behind BONZA GUY. Under 2m from the winner two starts back at Redcliffe, he can join in.

SELECTIONS: ENGLISH DANCE (1), SHEZ ALL STYLE (8), CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (9), OUR BOY ROY (3)
SUGGESTED BET:  Exotics 1-3-8-9

RACE SEVEN

With good early speed when required and coming into this in some nice form, CHAINLINC (2) can look to force the issue in the early stages to take control. Darting along the passing lane last start to grab the silver, he rattled home from the rear to score at Redcliffe two back. This looks within reach.

SWEDISH STARLET (6) overcame the second line and the middle trip last time out when charging home to claim a 7m margin. Luckless the start prior when going to the line in gridlock searching for a gap in a mare’s qualifier, the gate dents her chances but she still looms large.

BE MY ROCK (10) found the conditions to end a win drought last start when pressing to the front from gate 4 to take them all the way at the mile and claim a career PB. He can be joining in here.

LITTLELIONELJAMES (1) did not have much in his favour last start in a second division qualifier and was rearward as a result. Runner-up from the trail here three back, he has the options to feature.

SELECTIONS: CHAINLINC (2), SWEDISH STARLET (6), BE MY ROCK (10), LITTLELIONELJAMES (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CHAINLINC (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

2022 was a lean season for KASH US BACK (1) who found the going tough. He was asked to race FFA company last start, and he start prior was beaten by a wide gate behind the flying LE TISSIER. He finds his way into veterans’ company and with the benefit of the gate can start 2023 with a bang.

BITCOIN (9) has reached the 7YO point of his career and earns makes his first appearance of the season in the 7YO+ veteran’s grade. Chasing in vain behind the talented SLIP THE HUNDY last time in holding 3rd, he was asked to work hard over the 2280m at Redcliffe the start prior. He can challenge.

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2) tackled the Redcliffe Christmas Cup last start and after showing some early speed, settled in the 1x1 trail but could not go on with it. He can take control here and be gripping on.

OUR BONDI BEACH (8) chased gamely but ultimately was not in the same class as the winner SLIP THE HUNDY last time out. Beaten a lip here two back, he will be probing for the gaps to feature.

SELECTIONS:  KASH US BACK (1), BITCOIN (9), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (2), OUR BONDI BEACH (8)
