RACE ONE

Rounding out her 2YO term in good fashion, SKYLAR BREE (2) lines up here fresh after sharing the spoils last start in late November. The dead-heat victory keeps her qualified for this maiden event and with good speed off the arm, she can look for the front and claim an outright victory.

TIN AMBER MINE (1) has placed at his past four starts in succession as he chases the elusive maiden breaker. Chasing home out of the 1x1 trail last start in slick time for 3rd behind GWYNETH P, he has the benefit of a likely cosy trip in behind the speed and can look to mount a challenge.

MARTY THE MARTIAN (8) is an American Ideal 3YO gelding making his race debut for trainer Shannon Price. With the likely soft peg trip, he can be chiming into the minors.

CONFUSED ARTIST (5) is a 4YO gelded son of Artsplace on debut for Daren Garrard. With a sound effort in a preparatory trial, he stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: SKYLAR BREE (2), TIN AMBER MINE (1), MARTY THE MARTIAN (8), CONFUSED ARTIST (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SKYLAR BREE (2) to win

RACE TWO

This might be a 1-win contest, but it shapes as a good contest with plenty of progressive types entered. BACK TO BETOOTA (2) fits that category but he needs to bring his talent race day. Despite just two starts this campaign, he has trialled on six occasions. The trials have been super, its time to convert them for the money.

GWYNETH P (3) was making her first appearance in Qld last week when stepping out in maiden company and overturning a white-hot favourite. With a nice trip in the trail, she let down nicely when asked to claim a 1.53.9 first win. Settling handy again, she can look for a repeat.

FILLY THIRTEEN (1) found the poles before releasing last time out and then used the passing lane to dart through for 2nd behind SUNNY COVE. With another soft trip, she can be searching for the gaps.

SWOOPING EAGLE (6) started off the second line last start and was strong to the line in the closing stages to finish 5m from the winner LORD OF MISRULE. The gate dents but tempo will help.

SELECTIONS: BACK TO BETOOTA (2), GWYNETH P (3), FILLY THIRTEEN (1), SWOOPING EAGLE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BACK TO BETOOTA (2) to win

RACE THREE

After being faced with the outside front line at his past three starts owing to an ODM embargo, LOOKS JUST RIGHT (3) should appreciate a return to the main draw. Rolling forward early to slot into the 1x1 trail, he made a closing raid to finish just a neck away and can press the button here.

TULHURST CUDDLES (10) was a Redcliffe winner from inside the second line two starts back, finding the space to slice through and arrive after being shuffled back in the run. Sent to sit parked last start from wide off the front line, she is in nice touch and can transfer it here to the big deck.
KEAYANG SPONGE BOB (4) held on for the silver last start at Marburg from the standing start and might have been closer than the 2m margin if the gap opened. He can get forward to feature.

BELLA GODIVA (5) is never too far away and last start was making nice metres in the closing stages to be 5m from the winner HIT THE TRACK. She can be chiming in again here.

SELECTIONS: LOOKS JUST RIGHT (3), TULHURST CUDDLES (10), KEAYANG SPONGE BOB (4), BELLA GODIVA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LOOKS JUST RIGHT (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Rounding out his 2YO season with victory to take his tally to 4 wins in 11 attempts, THE TAX CULLECTOR (4) was a comfortable winner on The Triangle. Sent forward to dictate from gate 5, he was able to claim a 4m margin. Pressing forward here, he can look to stamp his authority.

FRAYA (3) will strip fitter from her return to the track here last week when first up in four months with no public trial. Sent straight to the front, she was trying to repel the challengers when holding on to 3rd, 2m in arrears of the winner SUNNY COVE. She can get forward to make a play again here.

MAJOR SLIP UP (5) was asked to sit parked two starts back and was fighting hard when just a half-neck from the winner. Eased from gate 6 last start before powering over the top, he can feature.

HIT THE TRACK (8) was runner-up two starts back when beaten as a red figure fav from gate 1 when worried out of it by BATMAN BART. Charging home to score last start, he will be probing for gaps.

SELECTIONS: THE TAX CULLECTOR (4), FRAYA (3), MAJOR SLIP UP (5), HIT THE TRACK (8)
SUGGESTED BET: THE TAX CULLECTOR (4) to win

RACE FIVE

After starting her career with a hat-trick of victories, EXCITING TIMES (1) was then able to hold on for the bronze behind the talented CHEER LEADER. Only 3m from YOGI in a strong 2YO race at Redcliffe followed and last start was stung by a second line gate. Back to the ace and with good speed off the arm, she gets every chance here.

PEPPA BLISS (8) is not entirely suited off the inside gate but if able to burrow through and follow the leader, should be in the right position to offer a challenge. 3rd along the passing lane here three starts back behind SHEZA BONNY SHEILA, she can be ready to go when the gaps arrive.

ALLSTAR SEA (3) is never too far from the action, his latest when 4m from the flying BATMAN BART after easing from gate 6 and then coming with a strong finish. He can be handy enough to feature.

MALINJANG (5) sat in behind the speed here last start and was best of the chasers behind the dominant winner QUARTZITE. Grabbed after leading over the 2040m at Redcliffe three back, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: EXCITING TIMES (1), PEPPA BLISS (8), ALLSTAR SEA (3), MALINJANG (5)
SUGGESTED BET: EXCITING TIMES (1) to win

RACE SIX

A winner from inside the second line here two starts back, BONZA GUY (1) owned superior closing speed to claim a 3m margin. From the same gate last start he was trying to dart through when a half-head from the winner and back to the front, lands all the options to capitalise.

MISS FERNANDEZ (3) should appreciate the improved alley after starting from the second line in all four starts since joining the Trent Dawson stable. Trying to wind up in the latter stages last start, settling closer to the action can see her issue a challenge.

BATMAN BART (2) is on a heater and lines up here chasing down five on the bounce. Grafting it out first over last start to claim a narrow margin, he steps up in grade here but is flying.

SOME GIRLS DONT (10) lands another second line alley after facing the back row at her past two in succession. A winner three back from the front end before placing her next two, she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: BONZA GUY (1), MISS FERNANDEZ (3), BATMAN BART (2), SOME GIRLS DONT (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

The early pace and search for the lamp lighting duties in this race looks to be keenly contested. With early speed ONLYSBEST (3) might just be able to get across but can also tuck in if needed. Bereft of luck last start when losing all momentum on the pegs at Redcliffe, he gets his chance here to cash in.

STOKER ACE (1) was beaten by gate 7 last start when forced to retreat and look for short cuts along the inside. Placed in both prior attempts from second line gates, the move to the front line is a big gate improvement from his last five starts. He can secure the right trip to challenge.

OCTOBER RACKETEER (8) tried to take them all the way last start from gate 1 and setting a slick tempo out in front, was collared late to finish with the silver. A soft trip can see him chime in.

MIGHTY GEORGE (10) angled down to the inside for the shorter way home last start, he was making some closing ground to grab 3rd behind BE MY ROCK. A good tempo can see him closing hard.

SELECTIONS: ONLYSBEST (3), STOKER ACE (1), OCTOBER RACKETEER (8), MIGHTY GEORGE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: ONLYSBEST (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

YEP GOT CHOOKS (6)
was second up from a freshen last start when settled on the pegs from the inside second line gate. Trying to make a closing raid, he found the line in nice style to grab the silver behind the dictating HY VOLTAGE. The gates stings, but some tempo will help his cause.

BONNIES CAM (1) has placed in 4 of his past 5 outings, the latest when trying to see it out from this same gate. Setting a slick tempo, he was out of bullets but able to hold on for the bronze as AWAYWEGO took the prize. Just a head away two back, he has all the options to challenge.

SHADOW MINISTER (8) looks set to enjoy an easy trip in behind the speed and if finding the passing lane with momentum can take his shot. Buried last start behind LYRICAL GENIUS, he will be probing.

CHAMONIX (2) was responsible for a much-improved effort last start when working home wide off the track to grab 2nd behind THE HUMMER in a second division qualifier. Limiting the workload will be key.

SELECTIONS: YEP GOT CHOOKS (6), BONNIES CAM (1), SHADOW MINISTER (8), CHAMONIX (2)
SUGGESTED BET: YEP GOT CHOOKS (6) to win

RACE NINE

An intriguing contest looms here with a front-line flush with early hustle. Quickest of those looks to be BRIGADIERS SON (5) who is a gazelle off the arm and despite handing over at his past two, this looks a race he can try to dictate. Beaten a lip here four back when trying to see it out, this might just be his chance for Qld win number 1.

BURNS BAY (1) fired out from this gate at his local debut two starts back and repelled the early challenge. Trying to see it out, he was just a half-head short of a first up victory. Beaten by a wide gate second up, he secures the options here to issue the challenge.

IM FEELING FIREY (2) is knocking on the door of his first win in Qld, the latest effort when using the passing lane to get within 2m of BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS. He can tuck in behind the action here to chime in.

B MAC C (10) showed good speed to get across and lead before taking a trail two starts back at Redcliffe. Owning the closing speed to arrive, if they go too hard in the early stages, he is the swooper that can capitalise.

SELECTIONS: BRIGADIERS SON (5), BURNS BAY (1), IM FEELING FIREY (2), B MAC C (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BRIGADIERS SON (5) to win
