RACE ONE

2YO Pace 1660m:

The second 2YO race for the new season shapes as an intriguing affair with the arrival of more interstate visitors in the form of IGNITE THE FIRE and LA DERNIERE for trainer Aaron Goadsby.

BRONSKI ZULU (6) is a beautifully bred son of Sweet Lou who took the opening 2YO race of the season. Pressing on to take control early doors, victory was never in doubt. The barrier today is a tad sticky but he has the class to be the testing material once again.

IGNITE THE FIRE (1) is a Vincent filly who has won a Newcastle trial in preparation for her debut, she looks to have the talent to stretch BRONSKI ZULU from the perfect draw.

BIG BOZZ (4) now under the care of trainer Charlie Cini was any eye catcher last week, settling at the rear of the field he hit the line with gusto.

SHELEFTALOTOFBLING (3) was left to breeze on debut, she fought on stoutly never shirking the issues.

SELECTIONS: BRONSKI ZULU (6), IGNITE THE FIRE (1), BIG BOZZ (4), SHELEFTALOTOFBLING (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BRONSKI ZULU (6) to win

RACE TWO

NR 30 to 35 2138m Trotters Handicap:

The day is coming for HAMMER SON (8), he has finished in the placings at 8 of his last 11 starts. With just a smidge of luck he can be back in the winner’s stall.

JUST CALL ME MOLLY (3) threw her winning hopes away last week by galloping at the start. With a clean get away she can be the one they have to catch.

MARLEY NOVA (5) is an 18 start maiden but she does have her share of ability, manners often bring her undone.

ALLANON (1) loves these 2138m stands, he often can pinch a break on most of the field and finish on the podium.

SELECTIONS: HAMMER SON (8), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (3), MARLEY NOVA (5), ALLANON (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HAMMER SON 1 x 4 Each way

RACE THREE

NR 55 to 75 2138m Trotters Handicap:

11 horse field where the majority of runners have legitimate claims for victory, good manners and luck in running will be vital.

EYRE I GO (1) set a sizzling pace last week in the 2647m Stand just being touched off late by NORTIE NORTIE, the performance was full of merit. With a clean get away he can be leading all the way.

BOURBONONTHEROCKS (2) is a 10YO Mare who had a stellar 2022 season winning 4 races and banking $21k in prizemoney. She loves to stalk from the trail and dash home over the top of the leading brigade.

LEESA CASTLETON (9) is ready to win, after galloping at the start and conceding a huge margin this mare was only beaten 8.8m behind Majestic Simon. Pete McMullen takes the drive today, keep safe.

NORTIE NORTIE (4) is handicapped a further 10m for his last start victory in this grade. Only a 4YO he has a big future ahead.

SELECTIONS: EYRE I GO (1), BOURBONONTHEROCKS (2), LEESA CASTLETON (9), NORTIE NORTIE (4)
SUGGESTED BET:  EYRE I GO to win

RACE FOUR

NR 53 to 58 2138m:

Low confidence, there may be limited mid-race pressure due to the small field size and most runners have a poor winning strike rate at the distance.

MOSSDALE MAC (2) contested the Peak Of The Creek series and performed with distinction, he resumed last week off a short break. If able to recapture his previous form then this former NZ pacer becomes the one to beat.

THE WEEKEND (4) has been consistently around the money of late a win would not surprise, unsure where he maps.

DELTA THREE (3) looks suited back out to the 2138m trip, expect her to look for cover and come with one run.

SELECTIONS: MOSSDALE MAC (2), THE WEEKEND (4), DELTA THREE (3) ONLY ONCE BITTEN (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

NR 30 to 40 1660m:

AWAYOVERNIGHT (7) makes his Albion Park debut for trainer Ben Battle. He will be launched off the gate in search of the top, an effective leader he looks the one they all have to beat.

MISTER WOODPORT (9) is racing in fine order with placings behind the flying Bee Gees Best at two recent starts, that form is good enough to go very close in a race of this quality.

THREE MACHS (10) bobs up for only career start number six at headquarters, she has been racing well at Redcliffe in similar company.

SHEZ GOT BLING (4) was back in the winners stall on Friday in the same grade of race, she has claims again.

SELECTIONS: AWAYOVERNIGHT (7), MISTER WOODPORT (9), THREE MACHS (10), SHEZ GOT BLING (4)
SUGGESTED BET:  AWAYOVERNIGHT to win

RACE SIX

NR 48 to 52 1660m:

BONZA GUY (1) enjoys the mile and leading in his races. Two starts back he saluted in 1.55.4 leading all the way and then last week breezing beaten 12.6m behind WONDERWOMMAN JUJON in 1.54.6. He looks hardest to beat.

ARTS PEREGINE (8) draws perfectly to stalk expected leader BONZA GUY, a podium finish awaits.

MIGHTY GEORGE (7) is a pacer that is unable to make his own luck in running, however he is racing in fine form of late. His fortunes will be dictated by mid-race tempo.

SOME GIRLS DONT (3) may need cover in the running line to show her best but she has the talent to threaten.

SELECTIONS: BONZA GUY (1), ARTS PEREGINE (8), MIGHTY GEORGE (7), SOME GIRLS DONT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BONZA GUY (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

NR 48 to 52 1660m:

Looking forward to seeing the speed machine SURE THING CAPTAIN (5) step out for career start number three. He has this race at his mercy, expect him to find top and zip another quarter.

NAKULA (1) gets the gun draw to sit on the hot favourite, expecting the marker line to play to advantage.

MISTER HART (8) can finish in placings from his likely three pegs position in running.

MAJOR MISCHIEF (3) looks to have to cut a tough mile from the breeze, this is a role the horse relishes. He will not be far away.

SELECTIONS: SURE THING CAPTAIN (5), NAKULA (1), MISTER HART (8), MAJOR MISCHIEF (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SURE THING CAPATIN (5) to win (looks the multi anchor of the day)

RACE EIGHT

NR 41 to 47 2138m:

Interesting race where we have three 3YOs extending to the 2138m for the first time in their careers.

KHULAN KID (2) has good gate speed and should be able to work to the front. Last week running 2nd chasing the talented SURE THING CAPTIAN he can go one better today.

ISNTTHATRIGHT (5) loves the Sunshine State, yet to miss a placing in eight starts for Stephen Cini.  Predicting this pacer slides forward at the start and sits 1-1 in transit.

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (1) can finish on the podium with a cheap peg line trip.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (6) is the most likely breeze horse in transit, she is a tough customer and has a good 2138m record of 28: 5 | 2 | 3.

SELECTIONS:  KHULAN KID (2), ISNTTHATRIGHT (5), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (1), SHEZ ALL STYLE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: KHULAN KID to win

RACE NINE

Veterans 1660m:

KASH US BACK (4) was an eye catching run on Saturday night, coming from last to run 3rd behind the airborne LE TISSIER. With a decent three wide cart into the race he can be in the finish today.

OUR BONDI BEACH (1) gets his perfect set up – barrier 1 over the short trip at Albion Park, another podium finish awaits.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (6) gets an opportunity to press forward at the start and lead over the mile journey, if able to pinch a quarter the old boy will take catching with Brittany Graham in the spider.

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (9) hit the line strongly last week from 3 pegs, he is racing well. A mid race move to the breeze is on the cards.

SELECTIONS:  KASH US BACK (4), OUR BONDI BEACH (1), MAFUTA VAUTIN (6), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (9)
SUGGESTED BET:  OUR BONDI BEACH to place

RACE TEN

NR 41 to 47 2138m:

R10 is a carbon copy of R8 where we have three 3YOs extending to the 2138m for the first time in their careers.

BLUE SHARD (4) is a customer who doesn’t win out of turn, there is a world he can be first to the pegs and have the options of holding or taking cover.

LADY DIGBY (3) is a nice Betting Line 3YO filly for Jason Carkeet, her last trial was sharp. With any luck in running, she can go close.

DOLLARBILL (10) is probably the best performed horse over the middle trip in this race, winning 17 races. Expect him to roll forward mid race and try to turn the event into a staying contest.

WILLEWA LIGHTNING (5) could run a cheeky race despite very poor figure form to his name. He has gate speed and solid middle trip numbers.

SELECTIONS:  BLUE SHARD (4), LADY DIGBY (3), DOLLARBILL (10), WILLEWA LIGHTNING (5)
SUGGESTED BET:  BLUE SHARD 1 x 4 Each way
