RACE ONE

After competing in both 2YO events to date, this looks the chance for BIG BOZZ (2) to chase down a maiden victory. Closing in smart fashion first up when 2nd to BRONSKI ZULU, second up, he was at the rear of the small field before being the widest runner in the stretch. The improved gate is a plus.

ISLA AND ADDIE (3) showed good arm hustle on debut to find the poles before releasing the race fav and eventual winner BRONSKI ZULU. Chasing on to hold 3rd when 5m from the impressive victor, she will take good experience from the first up effort and can position herself to challenge.

SHELEFTALOTOFBLING (4) has shown good early speed in her two starts, the latest when trying to see it out but collared up the passing lane. In a small contest she is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: BIG BOZZ (2), ISLA AND ADDIE (3), SHELEFTALOTOFBLING (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG BOZZ (2) to win

RACE TWO

Following two runs back from a spell in an interrupted Australian career, HOLZARTE VEDAQUAIS (4) might just have found the right conditions for a Qld breakthrough. Luckless first up behind a tiring leader, the second up run had excuses. The small field combined with a scratchy front line helps.

JACCKA WATCH (1) steps up in grade here but has the benefit of the front tape and the chance to show his manners early off the tapes and from there dictate his position. Pressing forward from 40m last start to sit parked and claim a 2m margin, he can be looking to go back-to-back.

KAR MANOR (3) was sent to sit parked last start and despite a tough trip was fighting hard for the silver behind LEESA CASTLETON who franked that with a subsequent win. He can go close.

KING OF THE NORTH (7) had three runs through December following a spell and was unable to hit the board. They were in tougher company and a return to this grade will aid his chances.

SELECTIONS: HOLZARTE VEDAQUAIS (4), JACCKA WATCH (1), KAR MANOR (3), KING OF THE NORTH (7)
SUGGESTED BET: HOLZARTE VEDAQUAIS (4) to win

RACE THREE

Finally putting it together last start to claim his first victory in Qld, QUERENCIA (2) looks well placed off the front tape to chase a repeat. Working forward to force the issue and take control last week, once in front, he was able to fight them off and can look for similar tactics here.

HAPENNY BRIDGE (1) will be first up since crossing the Tasman and comes into this off a pair of a trials on this deck in readiness for the Qld debut. Placed in two of five in the South Island, she looks set to get the cosy trip here and can be ready to make a closing challenge.

OONSKADE (5) was a winner from the front tape after securing the trail here four runs back to break the maiden status. Placed her past two, with a soft trip she can be chiming into the minors.

HAMMER SON (7) has been a model of consistency and chalked up another 2nd last start to make it three successive 2nd placings. He can be closing out to land in the money again.

SELECTIONS: QUERENCIA (2), HAPENNY BRIDGE (1), OONSKADE (5), HAMMER SON (7)

RACE FOUR

Resuming for his first start as a 3YO, BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (2) looks a smart type after finishing last season with a threepeat of victories. Breaking the maiden tag against older horses in impressive fashion, he then toyed with his rivals second up. He can start this term where he finished the last.

MIKI MAGIC (1) has now had three runs back from a spell, finishing as the runner-up in the past two. Doping some early work last time out before cover arrived, it followed a trip in the trail when claiming silver behind the unbeaten APOLLO DREAMZ with the same trip on offer here.

BEE GEES BEST (8) was chasing down a hat-trick last start when game in defeat after a tough 2nd behind LADY DIGBY. He will be tucked away ready to chime in.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (9) was sent forward from gate 6 last start to sit parked when grafting out 3rd placing behind the in-form ISNTTHATRIGHT. Trailing through she is one for the exotics.

SELECTIONS: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (2), MIKI MAGIC (1), BEE GEES BEST (8), SHEZ ALL STYLE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2 / 1-8-9

RACE FIVE

Tricky race to dissect here with only SHEZ GOT BLING (10) able to boast more than one victory on this track and only two other runners having a solitary victory. Powering over the top from this same gate in a similar race two starts back, she closed nicely last time and with the tempo can repeat.

AWAYOVERNIGHT (8) took his first look here on the big deck last start when sent to sit parked from gate 7. Grafting hard to not be too far from the winner, it followed 3 wins in his previous 5 starts on The Triangle and if spotting the gaps in time can be making a closing challenge.

TULHURST CUDDLES (6) is 0 from 2 here at HQ and is not helped with the wide gate. Fading after a tough trip when parked last start, she might need to be doing the heavy lifting again here.

MISTER WOODPORT (9) has been runner-up in 3 of his past 4 here, the behind REGAL NIGHTSHADE. Chasing home behind a rejuvenated BEE GEES BEST in successive starts, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: SHEZ GOT BLING (10), AWAYOVERNIGHT (8), TULHURST CUDDLES (6), MISTER WOODPORT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SHEZ GOT BLING (10) to win

RACE SIX

It has been ten starts since MELTON BEACH (1) drew closer than gate 4 in a career that has seen him draw wide or second line in the majority of his 16 attempts. Pressing on to the front from gate 7 here two starts back, he was strong late from gate 9 last start. The gate can see him dictate.

MUCH BETTOR (8) loves a fence trip and drawn to trail off the arm should land himself in the ideal position. Eased from gate 3 last start when 7m in arrears of JUST DESSY, he retreated from gate 6 before closing nicely behind TARGARYEN two back. He can stalk the speed.

BETTERTHANAROCKET (2) was a winner here three starts back when arriving in the closing stages to claim a half-head margin. Not suited last start at the 2138m trip, he can be close enough to feature.

OUR BONDI BEACH (5) tackled a veterans race last start and from the trail was best of the chasers to grab the silver behind MAFUTA VAUTIN. He can be looking for late metres again here.

SELECTIONS: MELTON BEACH (1), MUCH BETTOR (8), BETTERTHANAROCKET (2), OUR BONDI BEACH (5)
SUGGESTED BET:  MELTON BEACH (1) (1/8( quinellas/exactas)

RACE SEVEN

The early pace battle here will go a long way to deciding the victor and if BLUE SHARD (2) can show the hustle, can be in position for a breakthrough. Collared in the last strides by ENGLISH DANCE here three starts back when looking to dictate, he finds the conditions to capitalise.

BATMAN BART (5) closed out the 2022 season with four successive victories, the last two in the streak on this deck when doing it the tough way in transit. Down the line two back in tougher company, he was buried last start and a return to the front line can see him challenge.

GETALOADATHISBRO (1) has hit the board in 7 of his 12 on this deck, lining up here with all his recent form at Redcliffe. With good early speed, he has the options to be in the mix.

JET FORCE (7) found the running line from the second row at Redcliffe last start and had the closing power to descend and pull clear to an 8m margin. The gate dents the hopes here.

SELECTIONS: BLUE SHARD (2), BATMAN BART (5), GETALOADATHISBRO (1), JET FORCE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BLUE SHARD (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

Winless here at HQ, the conditions look right for MIGHTY GEORGE (2) to change that after running some sectionally super efforts in recent times. Snagged back from gate 7 last start before rattling home for the bronze, he was just a head away here three back and can be close enough to strike.

GABBYS SPORTSTAR (1) has struggled to land a decent marble since arriving in Qld, including drawing inside gate 6 just once in his past eight starts. Runner-up on The Triangle last start from outside the front line, he secures the tight alley which brings the options to challenge.

FLIGHT CREW (7) made a mess of things last start and trailed the field home. A Redcliffe winner two starts back when sent to sit parked, if she is able to pace throughout, she can be in the mix.

ONLY ONCE BITTEN (8) was first up off a freshen last start when eased for a cosy trip against the poles. With the economical trip on offer, she can be ready to take a closing shot.

SELECTIONS:  MIGHTY GEORGE (2), GABBYS SPORTSTAR (1), FLIGHT CREW (7), ONLY ONCE BITTEN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MIGHTY GEORGE (2) win/place

RACE NINE

Not much has been in the favour of LILAC FLASH (7) in recent times and he is given no favours again here from the outside paint. Sectionally however he has been super and last time out was hitting dead-ends when retreating to last on the fence. Tempo and clearer air can see him arrive.

KASH US BACK (5) was sent to the post as fav last time out from gate 4 and soon found himself at the rear of the pack. Facing too big a task thereafter, he was sound to the line despite finishing at the tail. Placed his previous three in succession, he can be joining in here to challenge.

MAJORDOIT (8) forced the issue on Saturday night to take control over the 2138m trip and then was looking to see it out when collared in the last strides by TUAPEKA GLORY up the passing lane. He needs a slice of luck here.

SOLE AMBITION (3) held the 1x1 trail last start and was only 3m from the winner OUR MAJOR DAY. With good hustle off the arm, he can be forward enough to feature.

SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (7), KASH US BACK (5), MAJORDOIT (8), SOLE AMBITION (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LILAC FLASH (7) to win

RACE TEN

In a tricky contest to close out the card, the mare SOME GIRLS DONT (5) can look to claim her second win here at The Creek. Doing some early work before taking the closing dive to be an eyelash short of victory, she can roll forward to get close to the action.

ISNTTHATRIGHT (4) has been in super form since joining the Steve Cini stable, finishing in the money in all nine attempts here at HQ which includes five wins. Overcoming gate 5 last start, he can settle off the speed and look to descend on them to issue the closing challenge.

LEANDER (1) will strip fitter from her latest outing where he was first up since the 3YO fillies Triad consolation. Grabbing the bronze behind the talented SURE THING CAPTAIN, the gate is a big help.

TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (7) will strip fitter from his last appearance where he was returning from a spell and was strong to the line in the closing stages when beaten a head. The gate stings.

SELECTIONS: SOME GIRLS DONT (5), ISNTTHATRIGHT (4), LEANDER (1), TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (7)
SUGGESTED BET:
