RACE ONE

Proving a costly conveyance to favourite backers this campaign, HOLD MY HAT DOUG (1) has gone under as the starting favourite at his past three in succession. Runner-up at his first two runs back, he made a complete mess of the start last time. This looks his chance to get it all in order.

EVERYSECONDCOUNTS (11) made an error last start that ended her afternoon. The start prior she was too strong in the closing stages from a 40m handicap to claim a 5m winning margin which had followed a tidy 2nd behind KAR MANOR. Despite the big impost, she can issue a challenge.

THE REAPER (7) does not have the figure form to suggest much of an endorsement, however he has performed well here on The Triangle previously. With his safe manners, he can be sharper here.

HAMMER SON (8) has only had one previous assignment here at The Triangle where he was unplaced. Closing out hard for the silver last start, he can be joining into the money once again.

SELECTIONS: HOLD MY HAT DOUG (1), EVERYSECONDCOUNTS (11),THE REAPER (7), HAMMER SON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: HOLD MY HAT DOUG (1) to win

RACE TWO

There looks some early speed on the front line here which should set it up nicely for SOULWRITER (9) to be issuing a closing raid. Trying to chime in from outside the second line at AP last time when just missing a place, she has faced wide gates at both previous starts. This looks to profile ideally.

AWAYOVERNIGHT (7) has been trying to crack an AP victory and been runner-up at his past three in succession, with two of those from inside the second line when locked away three back. A return to this deck where he is a four-time winner helps his chances to throw down the challenge.

EASTBRO TEX (3) steps up slightly from his recent assignments but has speed off the arm to get himself a forward position. Runner-up at his past two, he can get forward to feature.

MISTER WOODPORT (8) has placed at his past four in succession, the latest when sent forward from the second line to sit parked and finishing 5m astern of the winner. He can be joining in again.

SELECTIONS: SOULWRITER (9), AWAYOVERNIGHT (7), EASTBRO TEX (3), MISTER WOODPORT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SOULWRITER (9) to win

RACE THREE

Resuming from a spell on the last day in December, the smart FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (1) was beaten by gate 7 when finishing out of the money behind ARODA. Freshened since that outing, he takes his first look at Redcliffe and with the benefit of this gate can kick his 3YO campaign off with a victory.

EXCITING TIMES (2) settled in the 1x1 trail last start when tackling the middle trip for the first time in her career and was just outside the money as ARODA proved too strong. Placed her previous two in succession, she is 2 from 3 here at Redcliffe and can be close enough to make a play.

SOHO CASABLANCA (5) was making good metres in the closing stages last start after retreating from gate 7 to settle at the rear, able to grab the bronze. The gate hurts here, but he is not far away.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (3) found the 2138m out of reach last start after firing out to set the tempo. Grafting out a 3rd the start prior when parked, he has the hustle to find a spot to feature.

SELECTIONS: FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (1), EXCITING TIMES (2), SOHO CASABLANCA (5), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (1) to win

RACE FOUR

After grabbing the bronze from the pocket trail last start, FIRST STRING (2) can show his early hustle to get forward and take control. Collared two starts back over the AP mile when trying to take them all the way, he is 3 from 4 here at the Peninsula and gets his chance to cash in.

BITCOIN (8) was buried against the poles last start when 5m in arrears of the airborne LE TISSIER, the start prior he was a beaten fav behind subsequent winner JONAH JONES. From this gate he should be able to secure a perfect trail through in the early stages to be handy enough to issue a challenge.

OHOKA JIMMY (1) will appreciate getting back to a peg line alley for this battle. Chasing in vain last start as BETTOR JIGGLE put them to the sword, he can be tucked away and ready to offer.

KANYE CRUSADER (7) was buried in the run last start from inside the second line when finishing 9m from the flying BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS. Beaten a lip the start prior, he will be probing to feature.

SELECTIONS: FIRST STRING (2), BITCOIN (8), OHOKA JIMMY (1), KANYE CRUSADER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: FIRST STRING (2) to win

RACE FIVE

SISTA BLISS (5) was second up from a let up last time out when making an early move from the second line to get outside the leader. Fighting to the wire in holding 2nd to NAKULA, her first up effort had merit behind subsequent Saturday winner FLIGHT CREW. Despite a tricky gate, she looks up to it.

DEVOUGED (2) faced gate 6 last time out and eased to secure position was left chasing in holding on for 3rd over the AP 2138m as O B LEGAL charged home to score. A tough 3rd three starts back when sitting parked, he has his best gate for some time which is a big plus for his challenging chances.

TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC (6) is 1 from 1 here on this deck and despite the outside paint will find this easier than his last outing when sitting parked outside BURNS BAY before fading.

MACH TORQUE (1) will be second up since joining the Butler stable after finishing down the line at her first appearance. With the options from this gate, she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: SISTA BLISS (5), DEVOUGED (2), TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC (6), MACH TORQUE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SISTA BLISS (5) to win

RACE SIX

With his last win coming on this deck and overall a handy record of 8: 3-1-1 here, LITTLELIONELJAMES (3) looks to find the conditions for a breakthrough. Runner-up two starts back from the pocket trail, he was too far back and then hitting dead ends last time. He can capitalise.

MIGHTY GEORGE (1) was beaten by the outside front line gate last start yet was still closing out in nice fashion to be under 5m from the winner. Midfield behind CHEETAH LODGE the start prior, he maps for a soft trip here and will be probing for the openings.

MONTANA EXPRESS (7) faces another step up here but has found good form after wins at his past two. Charging over the top last start, a soft trip here can see him making a closing play.

THE MAHARANI (2) resumes from a spell following her last start when down the line behind LADY AVANA. Claiming a mare’s qualifier four runs back, her early hustle will help here.

SELECTIONS: LITTLELIONELJAMES (3), MIGHTY GEORGE (1), MONTANA EXPRESS (7), THE MAHARANI (2)
SUGGESTED BET:  LITTLELIONELJAMES (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

BURNS BAY (3) was back to his best last start when sent forward from the wide gate and finding the front was able to see it out in impressive fashion. That followed a late closing 3rd to FLIGHT CREW and if handling the Redcliffe track at his first outing, he will take no end of stopping.

ALTA REVELRY (5) is a three-time winner here and last start ran home some electric closing splits when finishing 6m in arrears of  CALL ME KEITH after retreating from this same gate to find position. Relying on tempo from back in the pack, he can be closing out hard to challenge.

THE HIGH COMMANDER (4) is another that takes his first trip up the Houghton Highway to Redcliffe and brings placings in his past three. Runner-up to subsequent winner DELTA THREE last time, he looms large.

FORBIDDEN JEWEL (2) is first up in Qld for Ron Sallis, the lightly raced mare the winner of 4 of just 8 starts. With a sound preparatory trial, she has the gate to feature fresh.

SELECTIONS: BURNS BAY (3), ALTA REVELRY (5), THE HIGH COMMANDER (4), FORBIDDEN JEWEL (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BURNS BAY (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

Asked to do it the tough way last start when sitting parked at the 2138m trip, ITS MR CLOONEY (5) was game in defeat to be just a neck from the winner. Beaten by second line gates prior to that outing, he chased home MANILA PLAYBOY and then LE TISSIER. He can capitalise here.

GLENLEDI BOY (7) at in the trail last start from inside the second line and when presented to the outside, sprinted sharply down the outside to arrive in the last stride. Buried the start prior, he will be tucked away here and waiting for the gaps to throw down the challenge.

ROLL ONE OVER (1) has placed at his past two starts, the latest a tidy effort when setting out to chase BETTOR JIGGLE who put a space on them. 3rd to subsequent winner TUAPEKA GLORY the start prior, he can chime in.

MOHS EM DOWN (8) has been freshened since his last outing when trailing the field home over the 2138 trip. A winner in one of his two appearances here, with the right trail he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS:  ITS MR CLOONEY (5), GLENLEDI BOY (7), ROLL ONE OVER (1), MOHS EM DOWN (8) SUGGESTED BET:
