RACE ONE

Having proven costly to his supporters with four defeats when sent to the post as fav since resuming for the Tim Butt stable, HOLD MY HAT DOUG (1) can look to turn it around. Midfield last start at Redcliffe, he made an error two back. Off the front tape on the big deck, he can gain redemption.

OONSKADE (4) was locked away last start from the 10m tape and tried to issue the closing raid behind JUST CALL ME MOLLY when grabbing the silver, finishing 3m adrift of the winner. Asked to do it the tough way parked out the start prior, she can be making a challenge here.

JUST CALL ME MOLLY (7) is chasing down a hat-trick of victories after successive wins when leading them up. Off the front tape in both of those, pressing forward from 30m makes it a tougher ask.

COLUMBIAS DEECEE (2) is a maiden that arrives from Vic to join Nathan Dawson. Not seen in any local trials and not races since early January, he stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: HOLD MY HAT DOUG (1), OONSKADE (4), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (7), COLUMBIAS DEECEE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: HOLD MY HAT DOUG (1) to win

RACE TWO

The biggest line-up of 2YO’s to do battle thus far this season where just two runners have been to the races. MORE SASS (3) is on debut for Shannon Price, the first foal of Ideally American by the top stallion Sweet Lou. With a pair of impressive trials, she can open her account in style.

QUIK CHANGE (8) is another debutant, a Changeover gelding out of the Group 2 winning mare Mathilda Diventa. Preparing with a smart trial effort when rattling home from back in the pack, the Graham Dwyer trained gelding will be searching for openings.

ELLIS STREET (9) was sent to the post as fav last start at Redcliffe against the older horses where he was forced to work hard first over from gate 6. Holding on for 2nd, back to his own age is a big help.

TOBEFAIRTOYOU (1) is a supremely bred filly by Art Major out of Petousa that is a half or full sibling to five winners. Her trial was a nice effort and she lands the gate to feature first up.

SELECTIONS: MORE SASS (3), QUIK CHANGE (8), ELLIS STREET (9), TOBEFAIRTOYOU (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MORE SASS (3) to win

RACE THREE

Still just a maiden tackling the more experienced rivals, MARTY THE MARTIAN (5) might just have enough edge to open his account here. Taken back last start and searching for shortcuts, he found them out of reach as SOHO CASABLANCA claimed a smart win. This looks well within reach.

SAINT LOUIS BEAT (2) was resuming from a spell in early February where he garnered market support but could not repay that faith, ultimately banished to the trials after finishing at the rear. With a handy effort to earn the return, he can do plenty wrong, but has the gate to turn it around.

LANCELOT BROMAC (4) was trying hard last week to reel them in when finishing just a head from the winner after being angled three-wide at the 650. Finding a spot cheaply will be key here.

HANDSOME HARRY (1) resumes from a break after his last appearance back in January. Down the line on that occasions, he has not been seen at the trials, but can get the economical trip fresh up.

SELECTIONS: MARTY THE MARTIAN (5), SAINT LOUIS BEAT (2), LANCELOT BROMAC (4), HANDSOME HARRY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MARTY THE MARTIAN (5) to win

RACE FOUR

In super consistent form at present, ITS MR CLOONEY (6) will need to be near his best from the tough gate. Charging home from back in the pack at the middle trip here last week to claim a narrow victory. That form has been franked already and with a smart chasing effort behind UPTOWN BEACHGIRL, he can capitalise.

EL AGUILA (4) returns to Qld, this time joining the airborne Donny Smith team. Last seen in January at Menangle when finishing at the tail of the field after retreating from a wide gate, stepping out in veteran’s company looks ideal and with early hustle will be throwing it down.

BITCOIN (8) has the second line options as the lone runner out the back and brings three successive placings. Chasing last start after not receiving the clearest passage, he can be chiming in again.

KASH US BACK (2) settled in the 1x1 last start but didn’t make any dent on the deficit behind DESPONDENT. He can be close enough to the action to be thereabouts again here.

SELECTIONS: ITS MR CLOONEY (6), EL AGUILA (4), BITCOIN (8), KASH US BACK (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

Second up from a spell last time out, AMAMI (1) was forced to graft it out from the breeze when holding on for the silver behind the big first up winner RED TRIX. Resuming after 10 months off the scene with a big win from off the speed, he has the options here to bounce back in style.

SISTA BLISS (2) forced the issue in the early stages from gate 5 last time out at Redcliffe and from the front was able to see it out with 7m to spare. Doing plenty of work from the second line two starts back when 4m astern of the winner, she has the gate to dart across and try to pinch it.

ISNTTHATRIGHT (4) settled in the 1x1 trail last start but could not make ground on the winner OUR MODERN MINNIE who ripped home in 27.4. A winner at his only attempt at this trip, he can feature.

THE WATERBOY (12) has the extreme gate to negotiate against the main players that both draw tight on the front. Grabbing 3rd last week behind RED TRIX, he can be making a closing play.

SELECTIONS: AMAMI (1), SISTA BLISS (2), ISNTTHATRIGHT (4), THE WATERBOY (12)
SUGGESTED BET: AMAMI (1) to win

RACE SIX

In nice touch this season where he has been runner-up on three occasions and also a winner from his six outings, COMMODORE JUJON (4) can look to press forward from this alley. Grafting it out when parked over the 2138 last start and finishing under 3m from the winner, this looks winnable.

ESCALERA (8) was attacking the line strongly in the closing stages last start as DESPNDENT stepped it out boldly from the front. That was his first appearance since in six weeks and with the added fitness taken from that, will have the second line options to be issuing the challenge.

MISS MUCHO (1) is the big query, first up in 2023 without a trial and a trip across the Nullarbor since that last appearance. Stepping out for Ron Sallis, she stays under watch from the ace.

SAM IS PERFECTION (6) was beaten by gate 7 over the middle trip last week when taken back and then trying to launch a closing raid wide off the track. The gate is not much better this time.

SELECTIONS: COMMODORE JUJON (4), ESCALERA (8), MISS MUCHO (1), SAM IS PERFECTION (6)
SUGGESTED BET:  COMMODORE JUJON (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

Having his first appearance her at The Creek last start, BRING THE FLAVE (10) was sent to sit parked from gate 7 where he delivered an effort full of starch. Looming up to hit the front in the stretch, he was nabbed up the passing lane. Despite the tough alley, the tempo looks right for him to arrive.

GIRL FROM ROSEDALE (2) was game in defeat here two starts back when taking an early shot from gate 6 and forced to park out when 8m from FRANKIE FEROCIOUS. Starting deep into the red last start, she speared out and took them all the way and lands the gate to chase a repeat performance.
DEVOUGED (6) has been a model of consistency in recent weeks and lines up here after hitting the board at his past four. Runner-up last start from gate 10, he faces another tough alley here.

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (9) was trying to eat into the margin last start when grabbing the bronze behind OUR MODERN MINNIE. He can press through at the start here to feature.

SELECTIONS: BRING THE FLAVE (10), GIRL FROM ROSEDALE (2), DEVOUGED (6), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BRING THE FLAVE (10) to win

RACE NINE

Thes 70Series continue to produce and this heat is a belter. MIDNIGHT CALM (8) will be second up from a spell after returning at Redcliffe when needing a gap that did not present in time behind ALTA REVELRY. Back to the big deck looks ideal and he can stalk the speed awaiting the opening.

CLASSICMAJOR (9) is first up in Qld, joining the Shane Graham stable and arrives with a top-three in each of his five appearances this season. Runner-up last start over the Menangle mile when working forward in the middle stages to go under an eyelash. He can follow through to throw it down.

BURNS BAY (1) was a big winner from gate 7 two starts back when sent forward and fighting them off too a 3m margin. Collared late last start by ALTA REVELRY, he will be burrowing through and gripping on.

CLASSIE WASHINGTON (7) has had four runs back from a spell, the latest when facing a forlorn task from gate 12 as the white hot UPTOWN BEACHGIRL dictated in front. Tempo will be his friend here.

SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT CALM (8), CLASSICMAJOR (9), BURNS BAY (1), CLASSIE WASHINGTON (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MIDNIGHT CALM (8) to win

RACE TEN

Not given any favours from the outside second line, EXCITING TIMES (10) was handed the ODM embargo after an error last start. Chasing behind SOHO CASABLANCA, the start prior she was trying to reel in FRANKIE FEROCIOUS. With the right trio, she can descend on them here.

BEACH ON FIRE (2) was a winner on the grass at Kilcoy two starts back when finishing best in the closing stages. Just a head away from BRAEVIEW FELLA last start after doing some early work, he can lob a handy spot cheaply to issue a challenge.

BRAEVIEW FELLA (4) overcame the outside second line last start when powering home over the top of them in the closing stages. From the gate he can be handy enough to feature again.

ODINS BLACK CROWS (3) will strip fitter following his return to the track last start where he chased home for the bronze behind subsequent winner JILLIBY TYPHOON. He can podium again second up.

SELECTIONS: EXCITING TIMES (10), BEACH ON FIRE (2), BRAEVIEW FELLA (4), ODINS BLACK CROWS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: EXCITING TIMES (10) to win
