RACE ONE

RISKY BUZINESS (3)
settled in the 1x1 trail last time out at Redcliffe but could not get warm in the closing stages. He finds conditions here to get forward off the arm and in a race dominated by the Ricky Gordon stable, he can look to fly the flag.

HESLUVABLE (7) was building towards something having finished as the runner-up in three of his previous four starts before cashing in at Redcliffe last start. Sent straight to the front from gate 3, he was able to score an effortless victory with an 8m margin. He has the tough gate to challenge.

MY ULTIMATE HESTON (9) was making some good metres in the closing stages last start when finishing with the silver. Pressing through early can see him in position to feature.

MISTER WOODPORT (10) fired off the gate last start from gate 3 over the Redcliffe sprint trip and from the front held on to claim a 2m margin. The second line makes it a tougher ask here.

SELECTIONS: RISKY BUZINESS (3), HESLUVABLE (7), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (9), MISTER WOODPORT (10)
SUGGESTED BET: RISKY BUZINESS (3) to win

RACE TWO

After two runs at Redcliffe since arriving in Qld, JILLIBY CHAMBERS (10) should relish a return to the big deck despite the tricky second line alley. Making some nice metres first up to grab the silver, she made an error second up that sees the ODM embargo enforced. This looks within reach.

MULLUM AXEL (2) rounded out his 2YO term mid-season last year after 8 starts where he placed four times and claimed victory in the Breeders Classic. Switching to the Daren Garrard stable following the break, he has trialled soundly and has the gate to challenge fresh.

OLLIE ONE SHOT (3) is on a two-day backup after featuring at Redcliffe on Wed night. Breaking the maiden tag three runs back, the improved barrier will aid his chances.

SHE DAZZLES (7) placed in successive Redcliffe appearances before cashing in last start to open her career when powering home over the top. The wide gate stings in her first outing here at The Creek.

SELECTIONS: JILLIBY CHAMBERS (10), MULLUM AXEL (2), OLLIE ONE SHOT (3), SHE DAZZLES (7)
SUGGESTED BET: JILLIBY CHAMBERS (10) to win

RACE THREE

Showing good speed off the arm last time out when tackling a mare’s qualifier, FILLY THIRTEEN (1) found the poles before releasing but found them a little slick thereafter. A winner along the passing lane here four starts back, she comes up with the gate to avail the early options to capitalise.

SHEREACTS (7) was too strong for the opposition two starts back at Marburg when sitting parked and grafting out the victory. Buried from inside the second line last time, she was trying to make late metres when 3rd to MORESCO. From the wide alley, she might need to work hard to challenge.

STUDLEIGH SONNY (8) was trying to make late metres last start in a 2nd division qualifier as MACH DADDY put them away. Placed his previous three in succession, he will be probing.

A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (6) has been kept fresh since her last appearance when 5m from ALLAMBIE in a mare’s qualifier in early February. The wide gate hurts but she has versatility.

SELECTIONS: FILLY THIRTEEN (1), SHEREACTS (7), STUDLEIGH SONNY (8), A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FILLY THIRTEEN (1) to win

RACE FOUR

The third McNeil heat here after two heats last week, where RILEY MOMENT (8) struck trouble in her outing soon after the start. Standing the leaders a big margin, she chased valiantly to grab 4th behind KAR MANOR who kept them moving. With a safe passage, she can capitalise.

BOURBONONTHEROCKS (9) was safely away before being positioned five back as they were in single file through the first lap. Covered when the moves came at the bell, she was a long way off them and chasing. Fitter for that run where she was first up in over six weeks, she can be sharper in this.

BANFF (4) was resuming from a spell in the first round and after stepping cleanly was looking to take them all the way, only to be collared in the shadows of the post. He can feature prominently again.

GUNNING (11) had been held back to chase this series and in the first round was sent around to sit parked before fading out. He will need to feature to chase a spot in the final.

SELECTIONS: RILEY MOMENT (8), BOURBONONTHEROCKS (9), BANFF (4), GUNNING (11)
SUGGESTED BET: RILEY MOMENT (8) to win

RACE FIVE

Banished to the trials after fading out last time out, BEE GEES BEST (3) earned the return following a freshen and finds the gate to get off the arm here. Midfield two starts back, he was big in defeat when parked five runs back and limiting the work load mid race will be key.

MISTER DOMINGO (2) will be fresh up from his last appearance in late January where he finished midfield behind THE WATERBOY. Just 6m from ARODA the start prior at his last outing as a 2YO, he has the gate fresh up to settle handy and against this opposition issue a challenge.

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (1) lands the ace again after wearing the red saddle cloth in five of his past six starts, Unable to cash in, he has never been too far away and can be hunting a minor again here.

MY SECRET BEACH (10) showed some early speed last start before finding cover and finishing midfield behind DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW. Taking them all the way three back, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: BEE GEES BEST (3), MISTER DOMINGO (2), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (1), MY SECRET BEACH (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

The fourth and final McNeil heat before next week’s big Final, when ZEALOUS SPUR (7) should take plenty of benefit from his first up run when grabbing the silver in his heat. Bouncing out cleanly from the 20m tape, he secured running line cover to be 3m in arrears of the winner. This looks well within reach.

KAR MANOR (11) was shot out of the cannon from the 20m last week and poor starting manners were nowhere to be seen as he was in front with a mile to travel and from there was in cruise control to claim a 12m margin. If he gets it right again at the start, he will throw it down.

HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (6) was up to her usual antics here last week when making an error soon after the start. Losing a stack of ground, she was large in defeat to grab 3rd. If she can trot cleanly, a win would be no surprise.

EVERYSECONDCOUNTS (3) was safely away and forced enough early pressure to find the trail. Angled to the outside and able to finish best to claim the prize, a similar scenario can unfold here.

SELECTIONS: ZEALOUS SPUR (7), KAR MANOR (11), HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (6), EVERYSECONDCOUNTS (3)
SUGGESTED BET:  ZEALOUS SPUR (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

After a pair of big wins here at The Creek, SUBSTITOOTH (6) was a beaten fav last start when deep in the red after sitting parked. Both wins prior were from the wide gate where he powered up and ran it hard in front and a return to the big oval looks right in his favour.

HEY MISTER TAYLOR (1) was sent to the post in red figures last start at Redcliffe from gate 3 when finishing 1m from ROCKSLIDE after sitting in the 1x1 trail. Placed his previous two, his record here at The Creek is not great, but he has the right gate to improve those numbers.

HE SAID SHE SAID (8) has been in nice touch, hitting the board at his past four in succession which includes a Marburg win from the front two runs back. He will be probing for an opening to offer.

BOTTLE ROCK (2) was buried in the run last start at Redcliffe and was always facing a task against the tempo as OUR MODERN MINNIE blasted home. He can settle closer to feature.

SELECTIONS: SUBSTITOOTH (6), HEY MISTER TAYLOR (1), HE SAID SHE SAID (8), BOTTLE ROCK (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SUBSTITOOTH (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

It will be a tough ask for SWEDISH STARLET (10) to overcome the second line, yet she is racing in top order since arriving in Qld and strikes a race that should generate some tempo. Beaten by gate 7 last start as UPTOWN BEACHGIRL was too powerful in front, she can be descending on them here.

MELTON BEACH (2) was beaten by a wide gate against the tempo last start after retreating from gate 6 as AMERICAN OUTLAW stepped it out strongly in front. First over the line but relegated to 3rd here two starts back, he can press the issue early to be in a challenging position.

MACH DADDY (7) rolled the sleeves to do all the work outside the leader last time out in a qualifier and proved too strong with a dominant 10m margin at the 2138m. This will be tougher.

REGULUS (9) worked home wide off the track at Redcliffe last start to grab the silver when 4m from the flying STORMTIDE. With the right trail, he can be joining in.

SELECTIONS: SWEDISH STARLET (10), MELTON BEACH (2), MACH DADDY (7), REGULUS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SWEDISH STARLET (10) to win

RACE NINE

Sent around from them in the early stages last time out as the race fav and asked to hang tough outside the leader, LEANDER (1) faded in the closing stages. Setting the tempo from this same gate two runs back when collared by subsequent winner ISNTTHATRIGHT, she can look to see this out.

MISTER GOLDENEYE (8) arrives in Qld with the Ron Sallis barn with limited race experience where he has 2 wins from just 8 starts. A Tamworth winner two starts back when taking them all the way, he has trialled soundly in readiness for his first race appearance in 7 months and should appreciate the soft trip fresh.

JILLIBY TYPHOON (9) has 3 wins in her past 4 starts, with each win where she has been able to find the front. The absence of that luxury here dents the hopes, but a cheap peg trip looks a good play to grab a minor.

PEPPA BLISS (2) was a beaten fav last appearance when sent around to sit parked from a second line gate when 7m from the winner GOZO SUNSHINE. From this gate she can be sharper.

SELECTIONS: LEANDER (1), MISTER GOLDENEYE (8), JILLIBY TYPHOON (9), PEPPA BLISS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: LEANDER (1) to win
