RACE ONE

ALTANA BLUE (2)
is at his best when able to roll in front and from this gate secures the opportunity to match his preferred pattern. Stepping safely and dictating an all the way victory at Marburg two starts back, he was chasing from the second line last time. This looks ideal.

ZACH LOWE (1) is a newcomer to Qld and joins the Ben Battle stable as the winner of three races. Fresh up since his last appearance at Shepparton over five weeks back, he will benefit from the inside gate and burrowing through can stalk the speed waiting for the passing lane.

GABBYS SPORTSTAR (7) claimed his first win here on The Triangle last week after forcing the issue from gate 4 and controlling it on the front end. He will be tucked away here and probing for gaps.

LITTLE CHANGE (9) was making some nice metres in the closing stages last start behind the in-form LA SAFRON after starting from this same gate. He will be making a late rally once again.

SELECTIONS: ALTANA BLUE (2), ZACH LOWE (1), GABBYS SPORTSTAR (7), LITTLE CHANGE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ALTANA BLUE (2) to win

RACE TWO

STUDLEIGH MARK (2) was not suited off the second line last start at HQ over the middle trip in a contest made even hared for those back in the pack when the leader walked them through the opening 1200m. A return to the front line in this company can see him claim his first for 2023.

TORQUE IS MY GIRL (1) will take plenty of benefit from her latest outing where she was first up from a spell at her first appearance for the Butler stable. Settled in the 1x1 trail, she was trying to make a closing challenge when finishing in 2nd place. With all the options she can throw it down.

TRACER BULLET (9) was a winner here from this alley three starts back when finishing over the top of them in the stretch to take the prize. Wide front-line gates have stung at his past two.

CANDYKANE (3) could not cope last start when asked to sit parked and after the tough trip, faded out to finish rearward. With less work in transit, she can feature here.

SELECTIONS: STUDLEIGH MARK (2), TORQUE IS MY GIRL (1), TRACER BULLET (9), CANDYKANE (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

AURORA FIG (1)
eased from gate 3 looking for position last start and dropping down to the poles was then making late metres to be just 1.5m from the winner. In the second half of the field the start prior as COURAGEOUS SAM arrived, she lands all the options from this alley to take her shot.

MOONAN NINA (2) fired off the arm last time from this same alley and was trying to see it out but had to settle for the silver. Midfield to FILLY THIRTEEN the start prior over the AP mile, she will be tightened from her latest run after one month between appearances and has the gate to challenge.

MISTER HART (8) started in red figures last start but never made it to the finish line when broken gear ended his day. Placed in 3 of his previous 4, he can follow through to be in the mix.

TELL ME THIS (5) pressed on from gate 5 and grafted out the win here two starts back and held on for 3rd last start when attempting the same play. He can apply the pressure to feature once again.

SELECTIONS: AURORA FIG (1), MOONAN NINA (2), MISTER HART (8), TELL ME THIS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: AURORA FIG (1) to win

RACE FOUR

THE GROGMOTHER (2) has had two runs back from a spell, the latest from inside the second line where things did not go in her favour, and she may have been much closer with better luck. With the speed to take a good early shot, she can get across and look to see it out.

TORQUE IN CONTROL (1) found the ideal conditions last week and was Able to power home over the top from the second line to claim a narrow victory. With the chance to tuck in behind the speed, she can secure the easy trip and be ready to offer the closing challenge.

BETTING BARON (8) was a winner from this same alley four runs back when powering home over the top. Runner-up from the pocket trail two back, he will be chiming in wide out again.

DIEGO DELGADO (7) started from inside the second line two starts back and making a passing lane raid, was just a blister short of the prize. Making some nice metres last start, he can be probing here.

SELECTIONS: THE GROGMOTHER (2), TORQUE IN CONTROL (1), BETTING BARON (8), DIEGO DELGADO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: THE GROGMOTHER (2) to win

RACE FIVE

BEACH ON FIRE (1)
was not suited last start over the 2138 at The Creek with it made even harder when the leader walked them early. Just a head away over the mile two back, it followed a win on the grass at Kilcoy. With all the options available, he gets a chance to cash in.

MATAI REACTOR (5) sat in the pocket trail last start and when the gap arrived, took his opportunity to dart through for a narrow victory. Beaten by a wide gate the start prior when retreating to the rear, the wide gate stings again here, but with even luck he can feature.

DOLLARBILL (9) started from inside the second line last start and needed a gap sooner after he chased through to grab the silver behind DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW. He can be winding up here.

TORQUE WRITER (8) was looming into the contest strongly last start wide out, finishing just a neck behind the winner that secured the passing lane passage. Look for her chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: BEACH ON FIRE (1), MATAI REACTOR (5), DOLLARBILL (9), TORQUE WRITER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BEACH ON FIRE (1) to win

RACE SIX

TULHURST CUDDLES (4)
was too tough for them at Marburg three starts back when sent forward to sit parked and able to grind out the prize. Luckless two starts back when needing a gap that did not open in time, she can force the issue here and getting forward can see her stake a claim.

AWAYOVERNIGHT (6) followed through from the second line here last week and was soon left exposed over a lap out from home. Whacking away, he was lifted over the line in the closing stages when looking vulnerable to claim a half-neck margin. The wide gate makes the repeat a tough ask.

WHATA REACTOR (8) was a winner on the grass three back before being banished to the trials at her next start. Eased from gate 5 last time, she can follow through and look for some minor money.

SONNY ORLANDO (3) rolled forward from gate 4 last start to sit parked and after the tough trip was under 8m from the winner. Just a half-neck away the start prior at Marburg, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: TULHURST CUDDLES (4), AWAYOVERNIGHT (6), WHATA REACTOR (8), SONNY ORLANDO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TULHURST CUDDLES (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (1)
has not really shown much by way of speed out of the machine, but lands the gate to burrow through should the opportunity present. Strong to the line last start when grabbing the bronze when 3m from SHE DAZZLES, with added fitness, she can throw it down.

KEITH WILL DO (5) had gate 3 here last week and after easing back in the early stages was trying to make closing metres when finishing midfield. Not far from the flying GIRL FROM ROSEDALE the start prior, he can get forward to feature.

IMA MIDNIGHT REBEL (7) grabbed some minor money last start when darting through from a cheap run to finish in 2nd place behind JUSTUNDERTHELIMIT. With the cosy trip, she can be probing again.

THEMOSTESS (3) was sent around to work in the run last start and was not suited by the tough trip. Finding position cheaply to limit the work will be key to her minor chances.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (1), KEITH WILL DO (5), IMA MIDNIGHT REBEL (7), THEMOSTESS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

HARLEY BLUE (3)
was sent to the post as fav here last week when resuming from a spell and after settling with 1x1 cover, could not reel them in over the closing stages, finishing 5m in arrears of the winner. Tightened from her first run as a 4YO, she has the gate to bounce back in style.

OLLIE ONE SHOT (8) was on the two day back up last time out when asked to sit parked over the AP mile. Unable to see it out under a solid tempo, it followed a 2m margin the start prior when making metres wide off the track in the closing stages. He can press through early to challenge.

BARROM BLITZ (2) settled in the pocket trail here two starts back from inside the second line and with the cosy trip was able to grab the silver when just a neck away. She can be handy enough to feature.

DEECEE ROCKIN (9) has placed at his past three starts, the latest when trying to make a closing raid wide out as EMMALEEN claimed the prize. The gate makes it a tough task once again.

SELECTIONS: HARLEY BLUE (3), OLLIE ONE SHOT (8), BARROM BLITZ (2), DEECEE ROCKIN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: HARLEY BLUE (3) to win

RACE NINE

GWYNETH P (8)
faces a huge drop in grade for this 3-win contest and should have little trouble in overcoming the second line. Buried from inside the second line when 10m from ROSES ARE SWEET in a Saturday mare’s event, she was just 1m away the start prior and should be rounding them up.

PROSPECTUS (1) started from inside the second line last start and was soon buried in the run before the gap arrived and she sprinted sharply to arrive for a half-neck margin. Strong to the line over the mile at HQ the start prior when just 5m away, she has the gate to issue some form of challenge.

MULLUM BOY (2) was a winner here three runs back when firing out before taking cover and the landing the closing blow. Strong to the line form deep in the pack last start behind LA SAFRON, a return to this grade helps.

IM A CLASSY GIRL (5) has placed in three of her past four, the latest when trying to see it out in front but just fading in the stretch when 5m from AWAYOVERNIGHT. The gate is tricky here.

SELECTIONS: GWYNETH P (8), PROSPECTUS (1), MULLUM BOY (2), IM A CLASSY GIRL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GWYNETH P (8) to win
