Racing Queensland (RQ) and the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) have approved the new 315m start at Bundaberg for racing following successful field trials on Thursday, March 30.
RQ intends to stage the introduction of 315m race events with a limited number of races for specified grades throughout April and May as follows:
- Masters 5th Grade 315m – April 17
- Maiden 315m – May 1
- Novice 315m – May 15
- Pathways 5th Grade 315m – May 29
Furthermore, graded races over 315m will be drawn on an ‘as required’ basis, after events programmed for the 460m and 531m distances, at each race meeting in Bundaberg commencing Monday, April 10.
RQ will monitor the rollout of 315m racing and assess the provision of racing over this distance on an ongoing basis.
