RACE ONE

Taken back from gate 6 last start to settle rearward, STORMTIDE (1) was always facing mission impossible as HIPSTAR ripped home in 54.2 from the front. Beaten in red figures two starts back as DAZZLE ME took the closing shot on him, he might need some space for the retake but looks up to it.

ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (3) was not suited from the second line last start in the same race where HIPSTAR dictated. Finding the front before taking cover two back and only beaten a half-neck behind SURF ACE, the start prior he was chasing the airborne UPTOWN BEACHGIRL. He can throw it down.

KEAYANG MARVEN (4) settled in the running line last start and was making a closing raid to be under 2m from the winner. Striking trouble two back, settling handy will aid his podium hopes.

NOR WESTA (8) is staring down a hat-trick after wins at the mile and then the middle trip. Snookered in the run last start, she sprinted sharply when shaking free and will be probing here.

SELECTIONS: STORMTIDE (1), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (3), KEAYANG MARVEN (4), NOR WESTA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: STORMTIDE (1) to win

RACE TWO

Staring down the barrel of four on the bounce last time out, AMERICAN OUTLAW (8) led them up with the 26.5 opening panel proving too costly as he faded in the closing stages. He will be tucked away and with a sharp change of speed when required, can await the gaps to rattle home.

TARGARYEN (9) went on with it last start to take control and once in front over the 2138m trip was able to bring them home in a sub 55 closing half to claim a half-head margin. 3rd in open company the start prior behind TURN IT UP, a solid tempo will aid his chances to issue the challenge.

SWEDISH STARLET (1) was too slick against her own sex last start when darting off the arm from gate 4 and taking them all the way. This is tougher but she has all the options to feature from gate 1.

SURF ACE (5) bounced back to winning form last start when forcing the issue to take control from gate 3 and once in front saw it out with a 27.7 closing panel. The gate looks awkward.

SELECTIONS: AMERICAN OUTLAW (8), TARGARYEN (9), SWEDISH STARLET (1), SURF ACE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: AMERICAN OUTLAW (8) to win

RACE THREE

With the chance to tuck in behind the speed and look to exploit any chinks in the armour of the 2, BOMB SUIT (1) will be coiled and ready to take the snipers shot. Unable to finish it off last start after charging the arm in a sub 27 opening panel before taking cover, he will be waiting for the gap.

LORD ZARIAS (2) will be first up in Aus, arriving from the North Island of NZ with 6 wins and 10 minors from just 20 outings. Looking sharp in a local trial from the tapes, he ran slick time for the 2138 and closed it out with a 26.4 last panel. The only query to him arriving will be fitness.

KANYE CRUSADER (8) was first up for the new stable last start when deep in the pack and finishing off soundly when 5m from the winner CLASSIE WASHINGTON. With the soft trip, he has claims.

SWAGGIE SHANNON (10) has been sectionally super in recent starts, the latest when getting home in 54.36 and 27.34 along the poles behind HIPSTAR. With the right trip he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: BOMB SUIT (1), LORD ZARIAS (2), KANYE CRUSADER (8), SWAGGIE SHANNON (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-10

RACE FOUR

After going winless through 2022, SCARLET BABE (2) is starting to put it together this season and might just have found the conditions to capitalise. Rattling home wide off the track last start when just 3m from the winner after retreating from gate 7, she gets her chance.

CAPTAIN NEMO (9) was beaten by the wide gate last start when eased to the rear and then faced with a mountain too steep as L L COOL J ripped home in 55 from the front. Fighting 6m deficit the start prior when parked out, he can look top press through to make his challenge.

MISDEMEANOR (1) forced the issue here four starts back from gate 4 and once in control took them all the way to claim a PB mile. 6m away at Redcliffe at her next start, she has faced the back line at her past two and back to the ace is a huge benefit.

MISS MUCHO (3) eased from gate 7 last time out and from deep in the field did not receive the smoothest passage when still only 6m from the winner. Taking them all the way here three back when first up, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SCARLET BABE (2), CAPTAIN NEMO (9), MISDEMEANOR (1), MISS MUCHO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SCARLET BABE (2) to win

RACE FIVE

Claiming last week’s mare’s race against some of these same runners, NAVAGIO (4) can look to make it a repeat. Rolling to the front before taking cover when angled into space in the stretch, she was too slick for her opponents to cruise on by to a 7m margin. She looks too classy.

OUR MODERN MINNIE (6) was chasing five on the bounce here last week when rolling forward from gate 5 and working in the run, with the third run taking a toll as she faded to a midfield position. With speed to her inside, the map looks tricky, but she can be throwing it down.

RED TRIX (8) will need plenty to go her way from this alley as she looks in danger of being snookered in the run. Holding on for the bronze last start when chasing a hat-trick, she will be probing.

MORESCO (3) might just be the fly in the ointment for a few of her opponents, with her good arm hustle to get forward. Taking them all the way last start from gate 4 in a career PB, she has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: NAVAGIO (4), OUR MODERN MINNIE (6), RED TRIX (8), MORESCO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: NAVAGIO (4) to win

RACE SIX

Sent to the post as fav last start from gate 6, ALTA REVELRY (1) was eased off the arm to settle rearward and then found the job too large in chasing down THE GROGFATHER. Strong to the line from a bad gate the start prior when chasing a hat-trick, he lands all the options to capitalise here.

ASTERISM (2) was first up for the new stable two starts back and after a solid middle half over the long trip was just collared in the closing stages. Too far back when chasing against the tempo last start behind MACH DADDY, he can fire the early bullets and be looking to see it out.

CLASSIE WASHINGTON (5) eased from gate 6 last start over the mile and when asked for the effort let down strongly running his closing half in 54.86 to descend on them. Tempo will ais his chances.

ANIMADO (4) has been runner-up at his past two starts, the latest when chasing home behind CHAINLINC at Redcliffe. Using the passing lane behind THE HIGH COMMANDER two back, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ALTA REVELRY (1), ASTERISM (2), CLASSIE WASHINGTON (5), ANIMADO (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ALTA REVELRY (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

Returning from a Bathurst Gold Bracelet campaign where she was able to claim the consolation, MISS FROUFROU (5) has hit the board in all three starts since returning this season. Under 3m from SOHO CASABLANCA when resuming, she closed out smartly last start to score and this looks within reach.

MAYWYNS LA NINA (2) has had two runs back from a spell and been eased off the arm on both occasions. Charging home wide off the track last start behind JILLIBY CHAMBERS, she has super speed out of the machine when let go and can put herself in a challenging position here.

MISTER DOMINGO (8) is in search of a hat-trick after successive wins here at the mile. Overcoming gate 6 and a flat tyre last start, he will be searching for open space to take his shot.

QUEENSLANDER (7) returns to kick start his 3YO term after his 2YO season finished with a 3rd to BETTER BE THE BEST in the NSW Breeders Blue Final. The gate makes it a tough ask fresh.

SELECTIONS: MISS FROUFROU (5), MAYWYNS LA NINA (2), MISTER DOMINGO (8), QUEENSLANDER (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

Faced with the outside second line last start, BETTYS LASS (9) had the closing speed to descend on them and cruise past to a 6m margin in a new career PB. With second line gates at her past four starts in succession, she can be trailing through early again here and can take the closing shot.

MISSTREPO (6) has the wide gate to negotiate and at her best off the speed will be relying on some tempo being injected at some stage. Buried away last start from gate 1, she was making a late raid to be 2m from the winner to claim the bronze. With the right trip she can be challenging,

SHESA POCKETROCKET (1) drew inside the second line last start and was angled off the inside when midfield behind REGAZZO DI TILLY last start. Just a half-neck away in a similar race two starts back, she has claims.

HARLEY BLUE (4) was second up this season at Redcliffe last start when pressing to the front and once in control was never in danger with 13m to spare. This is another step, but she is up to it.

SELECTIONS: BETTYS LASS (9), MISSTREPO (6), SHESA POCKETROCKET (1), HARLEY BLUE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTYS LASS (9) to win

RACE NINE

First up in Qld last time out when securing the Trotters Marathon, C K SPUR (8) showed a tremendous closing sprint when shaking free of the poles and cruising past to claim an 11m margin. Fitter for that run which was his first in over a month and from the 20m he can chase the repeat.

ADELLE (6) was allowed plenty of time to balance up last time out when first up from a spell before being sent to sit parked. Game to the wire when only 2m from the winner SUGARINSPICE, she should derive plenty of benefit from the run. The big query is her stand manners, but from 10m she can challenge.

CALL ME TROUBLE (5) made a complete mess of the mobile start last week, but his effort in chasing thereafter had the flashing lights on it to only be 7m from the winner. If he can be close enough in the run, he looms large.

SUGARINSPICE (7) is staring down a hat-trick and looks well placed from the 10m tape after defeating most of these last week under mobile conditions. Safely into stride, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: C K SPUR (8), ADELLE (6), CALL ME TROUBLE (5), SUGARINSPICE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TEN

Runner-up in two of his four this season, MACH DA VINCI (1) has found his chance to open his 2023 account. Asked to graft it out when parked outside TURN IT UP last week, it was a brave effort to be 5m in arrears through the sizzling sub 26 last panel. From the ace, he looks to get every hope.

GOVERNOR JUJON (2) has slowly been getting the miles back in the legs after an extended time off the scene. Always facing a mammoth task last week as TURN IT UP ripped home in front, he had a good early burn the start prior. He can dart straight in behind the speed here to make his challenge.

DEUS EX (4) resumes from a spell after a last start 3rd when 10m from the winner BLACKSADANCE. 3rd to MANILA PLAYBOY in the Redcliffe Christmas Cup three starts back, he has trialled sharply in preparation for the return and can make a closing raid to feature.

SELECTIONS: MACH DA VINCI (1), GOVERNOR JUJON (2), DEUS EX (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH DA VINCI (1) to win
