RACE ONE

A lover of a cheap trip behind the speed to be saved for the closing shot, JONAH JONES (8) secures the ideal conditions here. Used off the gate to find a forward spot at his past three, he can follow through behind a slick beginner and he just needs to get the lane with momentum to take this.

DEUS EX (7) is afforded no favours from the outside front line, but he is the class runner of the field. He got home the last panel in sub 27 last week behind GOVERNOR JUJON when resuming from a spell. 3rd to BLACKSADANCE at his last run before the break, he can throw down a big challenge.

HY VOLTAGE (1) was a winner here three starts back when firing off the arm and taking them all the way. Barriers have been against him in the past two, so the improved alley here is a big asset.

LYRICAL GENIUS (3) made the most of a cosy trip on the poles last time out to dart through when the gap opened and claim a 2m margin. Settling handy can see him in the minor money.

SELECTIONS: JONAH JONES (8), DEUS EX (7), HY VOLTAGE (1), LYRICAL GENIUS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: JONAH JONES (8) to win

RACE TWO

Not much has been in the favour of ROLLYARRRZ (1) in recent starts, a mixture of bad gates and tough runs in transit conspiring against him. Forced to retreat from gate 7 last start, he secures all the options this time around and with the likelihood of a soft trip, can fire the closing shot.

ALTA REVELERY (9) tried to capitalise on gate 1 over the middle trip here last week when leading them up. With the speed dialled up through a sharp 57.2 middle half, he was fighting hard but came up a half-head short, when grabbed up the lane. He can follow through early here to challenge.

ARCO (2) was having her first start in Qld here three runs back when setting the speed. Holding on for 2nd behind RED TRIX, her next two have been from gate 7. This alley is a huge plus.

OUR MODERN MINNIE (3) was looking to make it five wins on the bounce here two starts back when finishing midfield to NAVAGIO. Beaten by gate 6 last start, she is right in the fight here.

SELECTIONS: ROLLYARRRZ (1), ALTA REVELERY (9), ARCO (2), OUR MODERN MINNIE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ALTA REVELERY (9) to place

RACE THREE

Working his way back into the form he displayed last campaign, CLASSIE WASHINGTON (3) looks to get his chance to take this. Only a head in arrears of the passing lane winner LOCHINVAR JAG last start, he thundered home to score two starts back and can be handy enough to take this.

MACH DADDY (4) was staring down a hat-trick of victories last start when slammed with gate 12 and from deep field was never in the mix. Fired off the gate to take them all the way from the ace the start prior, three back he arrived from the 1x1 trail to score. He can issue the challenge here.

CHAINLINC (5) made the most of a return to The Triangle last start when descending on them to claim a 7m victory. Positioning cheaply will be key to his chances in this contest.

CANT BLUFF YOU (10) was hemmed away on the poles last start and went to the wire probing for an opening that never eventuated. The gate stings here but he can be closing out.

SELECTIONS: CLASSIE WASHINGTON (3), MACH DADDY (4), CHAINLINC (5), CANT BLUFF YOU (10)
SUGGESTED BET: CLASSIE WASHINGTON (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Maintaining a consistency over an extended period and sectionally super from bad draws, OAXACAN DREAM (1) finally lands a marble. A winner 7 starts back when pressing on to lead throughout, her next 5 were all from the second line and last start from gate 7. Runner-up her past three, she has all the options to capitalise here.

LORD ZARIAS (5) was having his first Qld race appearance here last week off the back of a slick trial and was sent to the post an even money elect. Funky out of the machine, he needed time to balance before being sent to sit parked at the bell. 5m in arrears, the middle trip looks in his favour.

SCOTCH EN ICE (8) looks set to enjoy the economical trip on the inside and will be awaiting some gaps to make a closing play. Trying to see it out in front last start, he can probe for a placing.

STORMTIDE (4) was snookered last start after being crossed from gate 1 and was three back in the wash up. Beaten by gate 6 the start prior, he can settle handy enough to grab some minor money.

SELECTIONS: OAXACAN DREAM (1), LORD ZARIAS (5), SCOTCH EN ICE (8), STORMTIDE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: OAXACAN DREAM (1) to win

RACE FIVE

Gate 7 is no luxury for the 8YO TURN IT UP (7) but he has been the benchmark of consistency in the open ranks for over 18 months. Walking them through the slowest ever first 1200 metres of a FFA event here at HQ, possibly ever, he only had to carve out a quick last quarter which he laid out in 25.7 to score. Electric off the arm, race fitness looks his advantage over his main adversary.

HOT AND TREACHEROUS (5) is the great unknown here, but he is a classy animal that arrives with form in top NZ company. A high-price purchase, he has stepped out in two local trials, the latest where he zipped home the last 800 hard held in 54.4. He will take great benefit on whatever he can accomplish.

AMERICAN OUTLAW (1) rises in grade here but has the offset of the inside gate and he has shown to be super effective off speed. He can get the ideal tow in behind the action and pop out to chase a podium result.

GOVERNOR JUJON (6) was back in winning form last week when showing a great turn of hoof to overpower the leader MACH DA VINCI. Slowly building his way back to the top, the gate stings here.

SELECTIONS: TURN IT UP (7), HOT AND TREACHEROUS (5), AMERICAN OUTLAW (1), GOVERNOR JUJON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TURN IT UP (7) to win

RACE SIX

The first 2YO feature for the year in Qld is this restricted APG contest where DRAGON (11) will need to be at his very best to overcome a stinging draw. He made a lightning move from the 500 to scorch his opponents in his heat, pulling clear to claim a 9m margin. That win followed victory in 1.55.8 to open his account and he can defy the gate.

IRON CLAD (3) started from gate 1 in his heat when making his race debut and was allowed to balance off the arm and never hustled. Locked away, he needed a gap a little sooner and when finding open space, the race was well and truly gone. He closed out nicely to suggest there will be upside.

BADLANDER (5) was tucked away back in the field in his heat before breaking free into open space and closing out in nice style to grab 2nd behind DRAGON. Taking experience from that debut performance, he can chime in again.

ATTACHMENT (9) landed the inside second line when making his race debut in the heats, where he followed BRONSKI ZULU throughout. Darting up the passing lane to score, he will take benefit from the run and with added experience be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: DRAGON (11), IRON CLAD (3), BADLANDER (5), ATTACHMENT (9)
SUGGESTED BET:  DRAGON (11) to win

RACE SEVEN

Undefeated in two career starts to date, the talented MORE SASS (5) looks to have the edge once again on her rivals. Pressing forward to take control of her heat from gate 4, she was never in danger from the front with the winning margins of 6x11. It is a potentially tricky gate, but she has the class to claim the threepeat.

MILLIEWOOD (1) was beaten by the wide gate in her heat when forced to roll across from gate 7. Sitting off the wheel of the leader, she edged closer from the 600 and looking under pressure on the turn, kept to the task. A 9m 3rd to DRAGON two starts back, the gate is a huge help, and she can be ready to make a closing raid.

DIAMONDS ARE IDEAL (3) was hemmed away in her heat when on debut and only found some space when shouldering out into the clear in the stretch. Finishing it off nicely, with the added experience she can chime in.

LOCHINVAR JEWELLS (10) was runner-up when making her debut behind RYLEE RHAYNE BOW and then in her heat of this series was sent out deep into the red. Holding the front and just lasting, she is given no favours from this alley.

SELECTIONS: MORE SASS (5), MILLIEWOOD (1), DIAMONDS ARE IDEAL (3), LOCHINVAR JEWELLS (10),
SUGGESTED BET: MORE SASS (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

Chasing down a hat-trick of wins, MISS FROUFROU (2) has fared well with the barrier draw to take her shot. Grabbing victory in the Gold Bracelet Consolation at Bathurst two starts back, she darted through a needle eye opening to claim the prelude here last week. With early hustle, she will have options thereafter and looks up to the threepeat.

QUEENSLANDER (8) was resuming from a spell in last week’s prelude where he was taken back from gate 7 to settle at the rear. Still at the tail of the pack as they approached the home turn, it was an eye-catching close out to be just 3m from the winner. The gate makes it awkward, but he can throw it down.

MISTER DOMINGO (6) was brave here last week when set free of the peg line early to mover around and sit parked. Grafting it out to finish just a half-neck from the winner, he can feature once again.

MAYWYNS LA NINA (4) showed the speed to take control here in the prelude and was trying to repel the challengers, only to be collared in the last stride up the passing lane by MISS FROUFROU. She can get forward to feature once again.

SELECTIONS: MISS FROUFROU (2), QUEENSLANDER (8), MISTER DOMINGO (6), MAYWYNS LA NINA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS FROUFROU (2) to win

RACE NINE

He may be fresh up since February without a preparatory trial, but TIMS A TROOPER (8) is bringing Chariots of Fire form to his return run. Qualifying for the 4YO Classic with a 4m 3rd, he found CATCH A WAVE too slick in the big one. He has the second line options as the lone 2nd line runner and has his chance to pick up another feature.

SPEAK THE TRUTH (7) has missed the money just once in 12 career appearances, that coming in the 2021 Paleface Adios Classic where the gate dented his hopes, and he was 4th to TEDDY DISCO. Building smartly last time, his 3YO campaign was derailed following a 1m 2nd behind DANGERZONE. Trialling in smart fashion, the gate makes it a big ask first up.

MY ULTIMATE LEVI (3) returns from a freshen and will be first up for Matt Elkins. Beaten a lip in slick time at Maryborough two starts back, he has trialled locally in smart time and can look to fire the early bullets.

AMAMI (6) was working wide off the track last start when fighting hard for the silver, finishing 3m from the winner. He receives no favours again from this gate but can get a cart into the contest to feature.

SELECTIONS: TIMS A TROOPER (8), SPEAK THE TRUTH (7), MY ULTIMATE LEVI (3), AMAMI (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TIMS A TROOPER (8) to win

RACE TEN

Chasing an elusive qualifying victory where he was the runner-up on three consecutive occasions, THE HIGH COMMANDER (4) finally found the breakthrough last start when sent forward from the second line and once in control was able to pull clear to an 11m margin. The gate is potentially sticky, but he can repeat.

COPPERFIELD (2) has had little go his way recently, the latest when dragged back from a wide gate and making late metreage when 7m in arrears of KEYAYNG MARVEN. Beaten a neck behind DAZZLE ME three starts back, he can find the poles and with options thereafter, issue a challenge.

GOLIGHTLY (3) is over 12 months since his last victory but has been building strongly towards another success. Asked to hang tough first over last start, he was just 2m from the winner and getting handy here can make a play.

BOMBADIER JUJON (5) was second up from a spell last time out when finding his way to the front from gate 4. Trying to see it out in front, he was collared in the last strides by KANYE CRUSADER and can feature again.

SELECTIONS: THE HIGH COMMANDER (4), COPPERFIELD (2), GOLIGHTLY (3), BOMBADIER JUJON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HIGH COMMANDER (4) to win
