RACE ONE

Trot Rods are back for 2023 and tonight will see the first two heats, with a further two held every Wednesday over five successive weeks. LIVING FREE (3) is a two-time winner at this format and returns from a spell for his first run this campaign. Taking them all the way here four runs back at the 1780, he can fire out and look to prevail.

BEE GEES BEST (6) has just 1 win in 36 attempts here on The Triangle and the task is made no easier from the outside alley. That said, he is a slick beginner and does have a fitness edge over what looks his main rival. Collared over the AP Mile last start after leading them most of the way, he can challenge despite the gate.

HEAVENLY WISDOM (5) has placed at her past four starts, the latest when asked to hang tough outside the leader after starting from this same gate. She has the versatility to make a play.

SELECTIONS: LIVING FREE (3), BEE GEES BEST (6), HEAVENLY WISDOM (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVING FREE (3) to win

RACE TWO

BERTILS FIREFOX (3) looks to have the arm hustle to get across those to his inside and from the front over the one lap sprint, has found the ideal conditions. A winner at the 1780 here three back when descending on them, he has placed in both runs since and can look to add another win to the tally.

SCHOOBY (5) is fresh up from a spell and brings a previous win at this format. Last seen back in January when asked to hang tough outside the leader, he can power off the arm early and might just find the trail where he can then look to mount the closing challenge.

MOLLIDOR (6) was eased from the wide gate last start and from deep field never really got warm over the closing stages. Passing 12 months since her last victory, she can chase some minor money.

SELECTIONS: BERTILS FIREFOX (3), SCHOOBY (5), MOLLIDOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BERTILS FIREFOX (3) to win

RACE THREE

BLACKJACK BART (9)
is still a maiden on this deck but might just have found the right conditions here to capitalise. Angled back to the passing lane last start when 3m from the winner, he was 3rd in a qualifier three runs back behind CHEETAH LODGE. The set up looks right for him to arrive.

COURAGEOUS SAM (7) settled in the 1x1 trail here two starts back and was trying to make a late raid when 2m astern of the winner. Wide off the track when trying to make his run last week, he might be at risk of being locked away here but of the gaps present he can challenge in this line up.

COPY WRITER (1) resumes from a spell after her last start back in October where she was runner-up, albeit 17m from the winner. With all the options fresh up she can feature.

MISSTREPO (6) does not have too many favours from the outside alley but should appreciate a return to The Triangle where 8 of her 9 career victories have come. She can descend off the speed.

SELECTIONS: BLACKJACK BART (9), COURAGEOUS SAM (7), COPY WRITER (1), MISSTREPO (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKJACK BART (9) to win

RACE FOUR

TOM KAT (1) might just have found the conditions to claim a breakthrough Qld victory. Beaten by gate 6 last start, he was deep field and could not get warm in the closing stages as MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE scored. With bad gates hampering his chances, he looks to get every hope here.

A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (3) sat in the trail last start form gate 1 and when angled to the passing lane had the required speed to dart through and claim the prize. Making nice metres in the closing stages here two starts back, she can be close enough to the action to challenge.

ROYAL PRINCESS (2) has been in top touch this season and was closing out for the silver last start behind MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE. Taking them all the way here two back, she has the gate to feature.

CONVAIR HUSTLER (7) faced this same gate last start and was snookered in the run and needed space that did not arrive in time. He will be stalking ready to strike again here.

SELECTIONS: TOM KAT (1), A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (3), ROYAL PRINCESS (2), CONVAIR HUSTLER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TOM KAT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

ARTFUL JACK (4)
forced the issue from gate 3 over the 2040 last start to take control and from the front was trying to see it out. Unable to repel ALLSTAR SEA, he held on for the silver which had followed a tough 3rd at Marburg. Back to the sprint trip should suit his chances.

SHORT LEG SUE (1) had this gate two starts back and was looking to take them all the way when collared in the closing stages by subsequent winner BLING THE LUCK. From inside the second line last start, she did not get the smoothest passage and gets the gate to turn it around.

GO JO JOLT (7) was a winner from wide off the track here three starts back when swooping past to take a 5m margin. Wider gates at her past two have stung and with a cosy trip here she can feature.

FORTES IN FIDE (8) had the pocket trail from inside the second line last time out but could not get near the winner BLING THE LUCK. With early options, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: ARTFUL JACK (4), SHORT LEG SUE (1), GO JO JOLT (7), FORTES IN FIDE (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

It is not often a Redcliffe Wednesday race will have this much winning form but that’s what we see here with six last start winners to square off. COLBY ART (7) is one of those and stares down a hat-trick here after powering over the top to a 9m margin last start. Following a good beginner, he can be stalking awaiting the gaps.

BLING THE LUCK (4) completed a hat-trick of her own last start to remain undefeated in Qld with all 3 wins here on this deck. Doing it form the front last time when sent forward from gate 3, the start prior she swept over the top. She has the versatility to chase the quartet.

FORGIVE ME (1) was able to overcome gate 6 last time out in scoring a narrow victory over this trip. Holding 3rd two starts back when wide off the track, she has the options and gate top feature.

MONTEREY JACK (8) eased early from gate 5 last time out before finishing with the best speed to take a 3m victory. With the right early trail, he can be after the repeat.

SELECTIONS: COLBY ART (7), BLING THE LUCK (4), FORGIVE ME (1), MONTEREY JACK (8)
SUGGESTED BET: COLBY ART (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

TEGAN LEE (2)
is a Changeover filly on debut for Graham Dwyer out of the mare Terranora Vista. A graduate of the Redcliffe Yearling Sale, this is her first step towards that series in two months and with sound trial form can look to start her career in fine style.

ISLA AND ADDIE (6) was returning from a spell here last start at her first look at Redcliffe when making a mess of the start for which she faces the ODM embargo. Sound to the line, she will strip fitter from the first up run and despite the wide gate can issue the challenge.

TAKE COURAGE (3) was locked away on the poles last start and chimed in to grab the bronze behind ROCKIN CHIKA. Settling handy will help her chances of featuring.

TUFFY (7) found the pocket trail from gate 3 last start and was trying to make a late raid when grabbing 3rd, 6m in arrears of the winner IMA MIDNIGHT REBEL. He can be probing for gaps here.

SELECTIONS: TEGAN LEE (2), ISLA AND ADDIE (6), TAKE COURAGE (3), TUFFY (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

OUR UNCLE LES (2) TAKES HIS FIRST LOOK AT Redcliffe and second in Qld and comes up with the gate and opposition to open his Northern account. Striking trouble in a much stronger AP 2138 contest last start, he can be close enough to prevail in this battle.

ATOMIC PETE (5) was looming strongly here last week wide off the track but just peaked on the run when finishing 6m astern of the winner in 3rd place. Eased early before closing out strongly here two starts back when grabbing 3rd to MOONAN NINA, he can be making the closing challenge.

RAMBLING ON (9) has been racing consistently in recent times, hitting the board in 4 of her 6 for the term. Runner-up to KING OF KAOS last start, she can be trying to make a late play here.

SHESFEELINSPECIAL (7) eased early to look for the poles from gate 4 last start and found a late split to grab the bronze. She just needs the passing lane with some momentum here to chime in.

SELECTIONS: OUR UNCLE LES (2), ATOMIC PETE (5), RAMBLING ON (9), SHESFEELINSPECIAL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR UNCLE LES (2) to win

RACE NINE

MADRIGAL (3)
looks to have found some low hanging fruit here as she steps out for her fifth race since crossing the Tasman. A winner in 3 of her 4 since arriving, she is 2 from 2 on this deck and after two runs back from a spell, the latest when a winner over the AP mile, she looks the one to beat.

SUNNY COVE (4) faced the outside second line last start and never got warm over the closing stages behind AURORA FIG. Down the line in a 70Consolation the start prior, a return to this company can be the catalyst for him to chase winning form.

ENGLISH DANCE (5) will take added benefit from his latest outing where he was third up from a break. Too far back as WISPER A SECRET proved too classy, the gate makes it a tough ask here.

DEECEE ROCKIN (1) steps up to another level here but is in search of a hat-trick of victories. Finishing bets at Kilcoy on the grass to score last start, he has the early options to chime in.

SELECTIONS: MADRIGAL (3), SUNNY COVE (4), ENGLISH DANCE (5), DEECEE ROCKIN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MADRIGAL (3) to win

RACE TEN

It is only a smallish field for a 70Heat but it is a competitive race with a number of chances depending on how the map sets up. LITTLE BOLT (5) was required to do a stack of work last start over this trip and was still fighting when 8m from GLENLEDI COMMANDER. The gate makes it tough again, but he is up to the task.

OUR ACTION MAN (6) eased from gate 5 here two starts back before owning the closing speed to descend on them and claim a smart 9m margin. Grafting it out when parked last start and only beaten a head behind CAPTAINS PICK, he can defy the gate to throw down the challenge.

STOMPEM (7) has the second line options as the lone runner out the back and can search for the right spot to feature. Following a good beginner, if he finds the lane with momentum, he will loom large.

ZACH LOWE (4) has come through the Marburg Goldstrike Series where he was a het winner before grabbing 2nd in the big Final when only beaten a head. A winner at his only appearance on this deck, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LITTLE BOLT (5), OUR ACTION MAN (6), STOMPEM (7), ZACH LOWE (4)
SUGGESTED BET:
