RACE ONE

Claiming the opening 2YO trot event of the year in Qld last week, DEAD SET CRAZY (5) will meet three of the same contestants with one newcomer to the battle this week. Stepping cleanly, trotting in good rhythm and pulling clear, he was a big 15m winner. He can overcome the 10m to repeat.

TOORBUL TILLY (4) started fav in last week’s event and was far from the polished product behind the tapes when circling and needed a few attempts to get sorted. Trotting reasonably good throughout to hold on for 2nd behind DEAD SET CRAZY, she can try to go one better.

JUSTABITLIKESULLY (2) held on for 3rd behind DEAD SET CRAZY last week, not making any errors but still on the green side. With the added experience, he can look to grab some minor money again.

SELECTIONS: DEAD SET CRAZY (5), TOORBUL TILLY (4), JUSTABITLIKESULLY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: DEAD SET CRAZY (5) to win

RACE TWO

Kept fresh since the APG Bullion Final MILLIEWOOD (2) was able to grab 3rd in that race when 6m from the winner MORE SASS. Placed behind DRAGON three runs back, she has the gate to be near the action and chase a maiden breaking victory.

DONTTELLMEAGAIN (5) will take her place here after not being required for Saturday night’s Final where she was slated as the emergency. Trying to hold on when leading but gunned down as BETTOR CULLECT scored last start, she was only beaten a head on debut. Despite a tricky gate she can challenge.

MISSED CONSEQUENCES (4) is an OHOKA PUNTER filly on debut that ranks as a half to four individual winners that includes TALENT TO SPARE. With a sound trial, she can feature.

ISLA AND ADDIE (7) has the outside paint as a consequence of the ODM embargo. Forced to work hard when sent to sit parked last start as BADLANDER rounded them up, back to her own sex helps.

SELECTIONS: MILLIEWOOD (2), DONTTELLMEAGAIN (5), MISSED CONSEQUENCES (4), ISLA AND ADDIE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MILLIEWOOD (2) to win

RACE THREE

Placed in both starts to date, GEM PUNTER PETE (6) was making a closing raid last start from outside the second line to get within a blister of taking the prize. Asked to grind it out first over from this same gate on debut, he looks to have the edge to capitalise.

ROCKON ROCKY (1) has placed in all three career starts and takes his place from the ace after not being required on Saturday night for the Final. Holding on for the silver from this gate last start behind DELE ROW, with the options for the right trip, he can issue a challenge.

CYCLONE TONY (4) chased home for the bronze at Redcliffe last start behind BETTOR CULLECT when 7m in arrears. Beaten by bad gates his previous two, he can be handy enough to feature.

CHARLIE POTATOE (5) tackled older horses last start and from gate 2, eased to the fence and was chasing when 4m from VINCERO. Back to his own age with more experience, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: GEM PUNTER PETE (6), ROCKON ROCKY (1), CYCLONE TONY (4), CHARLIE POTATOE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GEM PUNTER PETE (6) to win

RACE FOUR

Making his first appearance since crossing the Tasman, GUS (11) arrives as the winner at one of his two NZ outings. He impressed in a local trial where he ripped home a sizzling closing panel in showing that he has some wheels. With potentially bigger fish to fry, he can start with a bang.

INSTANT DELIGHT (14) made her Qld debut with a Redcliffe win sweeping home in the closing stages wide off the track after starting from the 40m. Her run in defeat here last week was off the charts, missing away, tailed out and then beaten a lip. Trotting throughout is needed in the capacity field.

EN MASSE (1) was snookered away four back on the poles last start and was under 8m from the winner NATTY PAGGER. Runner-up at her Qld debut two back, she can be near enough to feature.

THE REAPER (10) chalked up another minor last start, making it four successive starts where he has been in the minor money. A similar trip can see him chime in once again.

SELECTIONS: GUS (11), INSTANT DELIGHT (14), EN MASSE (1), THE REAPER (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

Beaten by gate 7 last start over the 2138 when retreating, JAKKI MUN (4) never got warm over the closing stages as a well-supported BRILLIANT ART scored. First up off a break in that contest, he will strip fitter and with a return to the mile against his own age, might just be able to pinch the prize.

CARTER GRANT (3) was sent out a red figure fav last time over this trip and from gate 2, found the front through a steady opening half but could not put them away when 6m in arrears of the winner BLING THE LUCK. Runner-up from outside the second line the start prior, he can throw it down here.

YOGI (9) was banished to the trials last start and since transferred to the Shawn Grimsey barn. With two trials to earn the return, the latest a smart piece of work, he stays under a watch.

FIVE STAR GEM (2) was not required in Saturday night’s Final, lining up here off the back of fading out at Redcliffe when sitting parked last time. A return to his own age is a plus.

SELECTIONS: JAKKI MUN (4), CARTER GRANT (3), YOGI (9), FIVE STAR GEM (2)
SUGGESTED BET: JAKKI MUN (4) to win

RACE SIX

Facing big handicaps in recent appearances, OONSKADE (3) had the benefit of the front tape last start, stepping cleanly before releasing for the trail and then finishing just a half-head form the winner MILLY AN EYRE. Runner-up off 50m three back, she can be in the right position to strike.

KAR MANOR (12) is hit and miss from the tapes, his latest appearance saw him slow to muster and soon found himself with the field in front. Finishing midfield he will appreciate a return to the 2138 after that was over the 13 furlong trip and with a tidy start, can throw down a challenge.

NORTIE NORTIE (13) was first up off a freshen last start when safely away from the 10m and able to descend on them in the stretch to claim a 8m margin. Back 10m and added traffic makes it tougher.

ALDEBARAN MISTY (10) made a perfect start in Qld when stepping straight to the front at Redcliffe and taking them all the way. Runner-up to NORTIE NORTIE second up, she can feature again here.

SELECTIONS: OONSKADE (3), KAR MANOR (12), NORTIE NORTIE (13), ALDEBARAN MISTY (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

Having her first appearance of the season after arriving from Victoria, MISS BAY KING COLE (4) rolled forward from gate 5 and did some early work before finding cover and arriving to claim a neck margin. With eh added fitness, she can look to go for 2 for 2 in the Sunshine State.

MULLUM RUBY (9) was beaten by the outside second line at Redcliffe last start and could not get into the contest over the closing stages. 6m from MACARENA MADI here two starts back from the pocket trail, she can get the right trip through to issue a closing challenge.

WATERLINE (1) settled in the 1x1 trail last start when 8m in arrears of the winner VINCERO. Still chasing her first 3YO victory after 6 placings in 9 attempts, the gate is a big plus with options here.

MAYWYNS LA NINA (5) grabbed a Redcliffe victory last start when faced with the second line and powering home in the closing stages after starting the $1.09 fav. Still an AP maiden, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: MISS BAY KING COLE (4), MULLUM RUBY (9), WATERLINE (1), MAYWYNS LA NINA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS BAY KING COLE (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

A winner here five runs back when settled in the 1x1 trail from gate 3, ALTA MAGACIAN (4) has not been closer than gate 5 in his four runs since. Finishing down the line behind FOR REAL LIFE at his past two starts, he has had to cope with the outside front and outside second in each of those.

BRILLIANT ART (1) was first up for the new stable last start when heavily supported from gate 4 over this trip. Sitting parked, she was too gritty for the opposition in grafting out a tough win. With the options from the ace, she can build off her first win of the season to issue the challenge.

QUEENSLANDER (3) overcame gate 6 last time out when working home wide off the track to claim a 3m margin after starting deep into the red. Taking his first look at the middle trip, he stays under watch.

AMAMI (9) returned from a spell in super order with a strong victory back in February, but in the seven runs since, he has been unable to replicate. Still not far from some classy types, he cannot be ignored.

SELECTIONS: ALTA MAGACIAN (4), BRILLIANT ART (1), QUEENSLANDER (3), AMAMI (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ALTA MAGACIAN (4) to win

RACE NINE

Still chasing his first win since arriving in Qld, a return to the front line can be the catalyst for MO SZYZLAK (3) to capitalise. Facing the second line in all three of his appearances here at The Creek, he was trying to make a passing lane raid last start when beaten a neck. He looks to get his chance.

LUKE JOHN (5) faced gate 6 last start when easing to secure position and soon finding himself at the rear of the pack. Making a sharp sprint over the closing 400m to grab the bronze when 3m from the winner, he can look to settle closer to the action to issue the challenge.

AWAYWEGO (6) returns from a spell after a luckless effort last stat from inside the second line back in January. With a tidy trial effort and a Hayden slot locked away, the gate makes it tricky fresh.

OFFYAROCKA CROCKER (8) will likely need a slice of luck form this gate as he could potentially be shuffled back in the run. A smart last start winner, if the gaps open, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: MO SZYZLAK (3), LUKE JOHN (5), AWAYWEGO (6), OFFYAROCKA CROCKER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MO SZYZLAK (3) to win

RACE TEN

Asked to graft it out first over last start from gate 4, IM BILLS LAST (1) wilted in the latter stages as WISPER A SECRET proved too classy. That was his first run in Qld off the back of a last start Menangle win when leading throughout. He can burrow through and holding them wide, look to see it out.

SOHO CASABLANCA (8) was chasing a hat-trick last start when eased from gate 5 to settle rearward and then could not get into the contest over the closing stages. Too strong at Redcliffe two starts back, he can hope for the 1 holding them and that will allow him to stalk the speed awaiting the gap.

ALEXIA ROSE (2) was chasing a hat-trick of victories last start when rolling forward from gate 6 to find 1x1 cover when runner-up to the in-form STRONG RESPONSE. From this gate she is in the mix.

MOSSDALE MAC (3) tried to take them all the way here last start after holding up from 1 and it took WISPER A SECRET every step to get to him. Settled near the speed once again, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: IM BILLS LAST (1), SOHO CASABLANCA (8), ALEXIA ROSE (2), MOSSDALE MAC (3)
SUGGESTED BET: IM BILLS LAST (1) to win

RACE ELEVEN

Placed just once in his six appearances this season, KEY LARGO (2) looks much better suited here. Back to the mile after his past two have been at the middle trip, he tackled open company last start. With the early hustle to get across, he can be in the perfect position to grab another victory.

OUR MAJOR DAY (7) has been airborne in of late, with wins in two of his past three starts with a near track record run at the Marburg Show in between. Charging home to overcome gate 10 last start, he is given no favours but was a winner grafting it out first over from gate 6 here three back.

OLD LUKE (9) makes his first appearance in Qld for visiting trainer Amanda Turnbull. Beaten by a wide gate last start at Bathurst behind SOUTH COAST ARDEN, his run two back was a big effort, and he can feature here.

KASH US BACK (8) added another second placing to the tally last start when using the passing lane and finishing an blister short of victory behind OUR MAJOR DAY. He will be probing again here.

SELECTIONS: KEY LARGO (2), OUR MAJOR DAY (7), OLD LUKE (9), KASH US BACK (8)
SUGGESTED BET: KEY LARGO (2) to win
