Ipswich transferred to Lockyer Valley Turf Club

Racing Queensland advises that the Ipswich Turf Club race meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 1, has been transferred to the Lockyer Valley Turf Club.

The transfer has been rendered necessary to preserve the racing surface at Ipswich Turf Club following the recent heavy workload it has endured and leading into the club’s flagship Ipswich Cup raceday on June 17.

The venue change has necessitated amendments to some race distances on the program.  They comprise:

  • Class 3 Plate - was 1666m, is now 1600m;
  • Benchmark 70 Handicap - was 800m, is now 860m;
  • Benchmark 65 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1400m;
  • Ratings Band 0–60 Handicap – was 1200m, is now 1100m;
  • Maiden Handicap – was 1666m, is now 1600m;
  • Maiden Handicap – was 1200m, is now 1100m;
  • 3yo Benchmark 68 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1400m; and
  • 2yo Handicap – was 1350m , is now 1400m.

The distance of the remaining race on the program, the Winter Sprinters Series Heat, remains at 1100m.
