Punters will have access to sectional data for greyhound races in Brisbane from tonight.

Racing Queensland has announced the implementation of the Isolynx Tracking and Timing System at the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club, with plans to introduce it to other clubs in the coming months.

Developed by Brook Group, the system uses small chips placed in the rugs on the back/neck of each greyhound, to provide real-time tracking and data, display race order, and track the speed, distance travelled, individual splits, and acceleration of each greyhound.

The system will enable live broadcast graphics, with detailed sectional data to be available on the Racing Queensland website.

Racing Queensland EGM Operations Adam Wallish said the Isolynx system was a game-changer for the industry, and would enhance the viewer experience while providing valuable data for analysis and commercial opportunities.

“The introduction of IsoLynx to greyhounds in Queensland will pave the way for a brighter future where animal welfare soars to new heights,” he said.

“This technology will enable us to analyse every stride to ensure we are identifying trends to improve safety through a variety of initiatives that are currently being investigated.”

Callan Brook from Brook Racing & Sporting Technology said they were proud to be working with Racing Queensland.

"IsoLynx is the cutting edge of racing technology,” he said

“This is a smart investment by RQ to enhance the Greyhound Racing product across multiple verticals now and into the future.

“The collective sensors and algorithms built into the system will generate real-time data captures on a scale greyhound racing has never experienced before."

The technology is also set to come online in Ipswich in the coming months.
