RACE ONE

With a 50% winning strike-rate since arriving in Brisbane, INSTANT DELIGHT (8) looks to have found the right conditions to increase it to 60% here. Safely into stride from the 30m tape, she owned superior closing power to descend on them effortlessly last week. It all looks right for her to repeat.

SHEZA CHANCE (9) was resuming from a spell last start and was much better away from the tapes to find the running line from the 50m handicap. Making a strong challenge down the back stretch, she powered clear to establish a winning margin. A smaller field is an added benefit here.

TROTHETROTTER (3) found the pocket trail from the 10m last week and tried to go with INSTANT DELIGHT over the closing stages but had to settle for the silver. A similar effort sees him in the mix.

MY ULTIMATE EDDIE (7) was midfield after fading over the latter stages here last week before stepping up against the higher rated performers on Saturday night. He can grab some minor money.

SELECTIONS: INSTANT DELIGHT (8), SHEZA CHANCE (9), TROTHETROTTER (3), MY ULTIMATE EDDIE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: INSTANT DELIGHT (8) to win

RACE TWO

With his best work done when up near the speed, the handicaps look to suit the pattern for THE REAPER (4), and he can get forward from the 10m tape. Coming off 20 or further in recent attempts, he chased home when midfield to SHEZA CHANCE last start. Conditions look ideal here.

FENOMENAL (2) is still a maiden which makes it a tough ask under the conditions of this race, yet his latest effort was full of merit when under 5m from the winner SHEZA CHANCE. Forced to work hard in the run, he was in for the fight and with a similar effort here from 10m, can issue a challenge.

MOCCA FRANCY (9) is the query runner, the 5YO mare debuting in Aus for Jack Butler, arriving as a three-win performer. Last seen at Cambridge in mid-April, she stays under notice.

IM A GYPSY QUEEN (1) holds the keys to this contest, the filly chasing a hat-trick after successive wins from the mobile against her own age. Her chances hinge on stepping away which she is yet to master.

SELECTIONS: THE REAPER (4), FENOMENAL (2), MOCCA FRANCY (9), IM A GYPSY QUEEN (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

Placed in two of his four since arriving from NSW, RED HARBOUR (4) might have found ideal conditions for a breakthrough. Making a mess of it in the early stages last start from behind the start car, he rattled home for 3rd behind KAR MANOR here two runs back. With manners he can capitalise.

JACCKA WATCH (7) can be hard to catch but profiles to be a player in this contest. Making strong ground in the closing stages last start from the 10m when 4m from the winner DEFENSIVE GUY, he was luckless when buried here two starts back. Finding the right trip puts him right in the frame.

IM THE COMMANDO (1) should relish the chance to see open track in front, with some of his better efforts all recorded when stepping off the front mark. Chasing in recent starts, he can feature here.

RILEY MOMENT (9) was locked away against the poles last start and could have finished closer if the gap opened sooner. Asked to sit first over the start prior, she can be chiming in here.

SELECTIONS: RED HARBOUR (4), JACCKA WATCH (7), IM THE COMMANDO (1), RILEY MOMENT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: RED HARBOUR (4) to win

RACE FOUR

An open 2YO maiden contest with four of the 10 boasting a last start placing. CRUZ JOSHUA (6) has placed in both career starts, the latest where he worked to the front and was eyeballed through a 27.4 third panel and was game when grabbed up the passing lane. He can defy the wide gate.

REASON TO SHINE (1) found the pocket trail last time out when on debut in a mixed age maiden and was best of the chasers behind big winner GOLDEN FIRE who has since claimed another dominant victory. With all the options off the ace, she can be issuing a challenge.

MILLIEWOOD (8) eased to the poles from outside the second line last time out and was making some late meters behind GEM PUNTER PETE. With the soft trip, she will again be probing.

GUTSY GIRL (5) was on debut last week in the race taken by GEM PUNTER PETE where CRUZ JOSHUA set the tempo in front. Drawn inside the second line, a return to the front should help.

SELECTIONS: CRUZ JOSHUA (6), REASON TO SHINE (1), MILLIEWOOD (8), GUTSY GIRL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CRUZ JOSHUA (6) to win

RACE FIVE

Likely to appreciate a return to the big deck after a tough trip from outside the second line at Redcliffe last start, CUSTOM NIKE (2) can take control off the inside alley. Working hard last start, she was just out of the money here two starts back from the front and can look to dictate here.

MADRIGAL (7) has been given a light time, with no racing through May after her last start 4th in late April behind FOR REAL LIFE. Facing a second line gate in that contest, she attacked the line smartly here two starts back behind WISPER A SECRET and despite the wide gate, she can chime in.

JUSTA DRAGON (9) was back in the pack from the outside second line here on Friday night and was making some nice metes in the stretch when 1m from the winner. He has podium claims again.

BONUS BET (10) arrived from NSW with three successive wins but has trailed the field home in both Qld appearances. Gate 6 and not much luck was her undoing last start, and she can be sharper here.

SELECTIONS: CUSTOM NIKE (2), MADRIGAL (7), JUSTA DRAGON (9), BONUS BET (10)
SUGGESTED BET: CUSTOM NIKE (2) to win

RACE SIX

Making his return from a spell after a last start 5th in the NSW Derby Final, SURE THING CAPTAIN (10) faces a tricky gate first up. Beaten by gate 8 in that Derby, he qualified off a tidy close out behind NATURALLY GIFTED and with two handy preparatory trials, should be too classy.

THE BEAUDEN BLUES (1) is a 3YO for Chantal Turpin that arrives from the Shaky Isles with one win and two minors in his eight appearances. Fresh up for his first appearance in Qld, he trialled sharply in readiness where he rolled to the front effortlessly. He has the gate to throw it down.

MULLUM RUBY (4) was exposed early last start before receiving cover and was not far from ALTA MAGACIAN in slick time. Runner-up to MISS BAY KING COLE two starts back, she is a place hope.

MYDADSAID (5) will strip fitter from his latest appearance when returning from a spell to make his first 3YO appearance. Just 4m in arrears of the winner ALTA MAGACIAN, the gate is awkward.

SELECTIONS: SURE THING CAPTAIN (10), THE BEAUDEN BLUES (1), MULLUM RUBY (4), MYDADSAID (5)
SUGGESTED BET:  SURE THING CAPTAIN (10) to win

RACE SEVEN

Despite coming up with the second line gate, BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (11) has the race fitness to call on which might just be enough in what looks a race dominated by a pair of smart 3YOs. Runner-up in two runs back since the NSW Derby Heats, both runs have been at the Redcliffe 947. He can convert Trot Rods form here.

BORELLA (4) has the gate advantage over his main rival but will be coming into this contest first up. Taken to Menangle for a tilt at the NSW Derby at his last start, he struck trouble in the run and was far from disgraced. With a steady trial to prepare, he can throw down the challenge.

ARCHILLES (2) settle back in the pack from gate 3 last time out and was picking a few off late when just out of the money behind BRILLIANT ART. Settling handy, he has podium claims in this.

LANCELOT BROMAC (3) does find the 2138 a little tougher at this stage of his career, but can look to slot into the running line handy. Runner-up last start at the mile, he can be closing out again here.

SELECTIONS: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (11), BORELLA (4), ARCHILLES (2), LANCELOT BROMAC (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (11) to win

RACE EIGHT

Still chasing his first win for the 2023 season, MIDNIGHT CALM (4) was sharper last start when using the passing lane to grab the silver. That was behind RED RIGHT HAND who has franked that form since. $m from CLASS TO THE MAX from gate 6 the start prior, he can chase the breakthrough.

SIR RICHRD LEE (2) has had two runs since joining the Rob Morris stable, the first when finishing 2m from MO SZYSLAK at the mile. Stepping out to the 2138 last time from gate 11, he was put into the contest early and took control before fighting them off to score. The improved gate is a huge asset.

BURNS BAY (1) fired off the arm last start and looked to take them all the way. Unable to see it out, he was just out of the money behind subsequent winner RED RIGHT HAND. He is in the mix.

ARGYLE (7) cops no favours from the outside, the same gate he had last start when down the line behind BANGKOK DEEJAY. Chasing LEAP TO FAME the start prior, he is a podium hope in this.

SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT CALM (4), SIR RICHRD LEE (2), BURNS BAY (1), ARGYLE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Chasing four on the bunce last start when wilting and subsequently going for a spell, HEAVEN IN LOCKSLEY (2) returns to the track and will take his first look at veteran’s company. Taking a 70Final two starts back in smart fashion, he blew the cobwebs out with a slick trial and can return in style.

HIPSTAR (6) has placed at his past two in this grade at the middle trip, the latest when the best of the chasing pack behind ESCALERA, finishing 6m in arrears. Strong to the line from outside the second line and under 2m from the winner here two starts back, he looms large.

ESCALERA (9) landed the prize from this same gate last start at the middle trip, descending on them to claim a 6m margin. Placed his previous two, he can find the running line to chase another podium.

OUR MAJOR DAY (10) was snagged off the gate after facing gate 7 last start and making a run wide off the track, closed out in nice order to grab the bronze. He is in nice touch and cannot be ignored.

SELECTIONS: HEAVEN IN LOCKSLEY (2), HIPSTAR (6), ESCALERA (9), OUR MAJOR DAY (10)
SUGGESTED BET: HEAVEN IN LOCKSLEY (2) to win

RACE TEN

It has been a mixed season for AMAMI (4) since returning from a long injury enforced break. His latest effort twas a much-improved effort when making good metres wide off the track to finish 3rd behind SIR RICHARD LEE. They might just be able to force the issue early to capitalise here.

LOUS DREAM (6) tackled a 70Final last start from inside the second line where he was soon buried in the run in a luckless effort. A winner at his previous four on the bounce, he looks a smart 3YO and despite the wide gate can look to issue the challenge.

MAKARA (11) landed gate 1 at his first Qld appearance and after being beaten for early speed, was three back on the poles. Finding space to break free and rattle home to score, he can chime in off tempo again.

MOSSDALE MAC (5) has been in the quinella at his past three in succession with a win sandwiched between a pair of 2nds. Wide off the track lasty start when 2m away, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: AMAMI (4), LOUS DREAM (6), MAKARA (11), MOSSDALE MAC (5)
SUGGESTED BET: AMAMI (4) to win
