RACE ONE

In what shapes as a wide open contest to open the card, the early mapping looks a mess to sort out. Fitter after two runs back from a spell, BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS (6) has not been too far away on either occasion. Attacking the line in style last start from the second line, he is worth a ticket.

ROCK BOTTOM (10) eased across from gate 6 here last week to find the 1x1 trail and was making a closing raid when under 2m from the winner PORT AU PRINCE. Tackling open class performers in his three runs prior, the second line stings but in this divided event, he can issue a challenge.

OUR ACTION MAN (2) was a winner three starts back when powering over the top of them in the closing stages at this trip. Setting an electric tempo when fading two back, he is a place chance here.

GIRL FROM OZ (1) finally lands a marble after facing some horrid gates in recent weeks. No closer than gate 5 in her past seven starts from eight runs this term, the improved gate is a huge help.

SELECTIONS: BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS (6), ROCK BOTTOM (10), OUR ACTION MAN (2), GIRL FROM OZ (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BONNIE PRINCE LOUIS (6) to win

RACE TWO

Returning for another Winter campaign, MUSCLE BART (6) tackled the two main Derby’s here last season, where he grabbed the bronze in the big one. With a last start Menangle victory in a Regional Consolation, he brings two wins in his past three and this looks a steppingstone to bigger targets.

ALTA REVLERY (1) claimed a qualifying win here last starts when owning the superior closing speed to claim a neck margin, defeating subsequent winner DANGERZONE. Gate 7 was his undoing the start prior behind LEAP TO FAME and with the options off this gate, he can throw it down.

MISS MUCHO (8) started from the second line in a mare’s only contest last week where she owned the closing power to arrive with a narrow margin. 3rd to FUTURE ASSURED two runs back, she will be probing.

SEND IT (3) joins the Shane Graham barn after his last start at Menangle when down the line behind SWAYZEE. ON a win drought that dates to July 2021, the change of scenery can do the trick and be the cherry on a big week for his part-owner.

SELECTIONS: MUSCLE BART (6), ALTA REVLERY (1), MISS MUCHO (8), SEND IT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MUSCLE BART (6) to win

RACE THREE

A tricky qualifier over the middle trip where the early mapping might just help MO SZYSLAK (8) secure the ideal trip in behind the speed. Charging home last start from deep field when beaten a half-neck, he was too strong here two starts back in a smart win. He will be stalking ready to strike.

CLASS TO THE MAX (1) was a gritty winner here three starts back when rolling forward to sit parked and able to grind out the midweek win. Runner-up in a Trot Rods event at his net start, he was not too far away last start and with all the favours from the ace, gets his chance to cash in.

EAGLE COMMANDER (12) was put out of business on Wed night at Redcliffe but put up a tidy effort chasing. Runner-up to CAPTAINS PICK the start prior, the gate is not ideal, but he can chime in.

AALESUND (10) is yet to hit the board in four appearances here at HQ and will again face a tough gate after not receiving a decent marble yet. Midfield to DANGEERZONE last start, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MO SZYSLAK (8), CLASS TO THE MAX (1), EAGLE COMMANDER (12), AALESUND (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MO SZYSLAK (8) to win

RACE FOUR

Just the seven horse front line to do battle in this FFA with a few runners facing a step up to tackle this contest. A return to mobile conditions will favour BLACKSADANCE (7) who was a beaten fav from the tapes last start. Grabbed when PETES SAID SO gained a saloon passage two starts back, he can bounce back here.

CANTFINDABETTORMAN (2) returns to the scene of his South East Derby victory of last season where he turned over LEAP TO FAME. Coming into this fresh in search of a hat-trick of victories, he steps up against open performers for the first time. 3rd in the Chariots back in February, he can challenge.

PORT AU PRINCE (1) claimed his first Qld victory here last week when holding them off after setting the tempo. He lands the options and with the peg line trip, is a podium player.

KINGMAKER (5) arrives with the Cobbity equine team with one month between runs. Last seen when 5m from BONDI LOCKDOWN when chasing four on the bounce, he can grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (7), CANTFINDABETTORMAN (2), PORT AU PRINCE (1), KINGMAKER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (7) to win

RACE FIVE

This is a quality QBRED contest with two confirmed Hayden slot holders engaged and another four chasing potential suitors for a slot. BANGKOK DEEJAY (9) is confirmed for that event and despite gate 6 looks up to this. Large in defeat last start in a 70Final where he was charging in the stretch, he can descend off tempo to take this.

MY ULTIMATE LEVI (1) is still chasing his first victory after six attempts in the Matt Elkins livery. This is the best gate he has drawn in that time, drawing six or wider in his past five outings. Only 3m away after a mid-race move off the second line in slick time two runs back, he gets every chance here.

BIG SHADOW (2) secures an improved gate which will aid his chances after some luckless efforts in recent starts. Runner-up to the flying RED RIGHT HAND last start, he can be close enough to feature.

ALWAYSBME (7) is afforded no favours from the wide gate as she lines up from 7 for the third time in her past five. Runner-up in mare’s company last start, she can be chiming into the minor money.

SELECTIONS: BANGKOK DEEJAY (9), MY ULTIMATE LEVI (1), BIG SHADOW (2), ALWAYSBME (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BANGKOK DEEJAY (9) to win

RACE SIX

CALL ME KEITH (5)
was picking off some late metres at Redcliffe last start to grab the bronze behind CAPTAINS PICK. Gate 10 made it a big ask in a 70Fianl claimed by DANCE FOR GLORY two starts back and although this looks an awkward alley, it might just be open enough for him to strike.

YARRAMAN BELLA (6) will need to negotiate the wide gate, but her form since returning to Brisbane has been solid. Runner-up to the flying RED TRIX at her first appearance, she then claimed the scalp of UPTOWN BEACHGIRL. Gate 12 and LEAP TO FAME was her undoing last start, but she is up to this.

WHATA ROLLER (2) had the hustle from gate 3 to lead up before opting for cover last time out and was trying to rally up the passing lane when 2m from RED RIGHT HAND. He can fire early shots again.

BETTERTHAN POPSY (9) has been chipping away with some handy performances in recent starts, the latest from gate 11 and just outside the money behind TAIRLAW TOLL. A smaller field helps here.

SELECTIONS: CALL ME KEITH (5), YARRAMAN BELLA (6), WHATA ROLLER (2), BETTERTHAN POPSY (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

After three runs back from a spell, the conditions look ideal for RACY ROXY (1) to claim the first win of her 4YO term. Just 4m from CAT KING COLE when resuming, she then held the trail and was 5m from the smart ALTA REVLERY. Gate 7 was her undoing last week and she looks to get every chance this time.

PRINCESS LEIA (10) made her first appearance ion Qld last time out where she was best of the chasers to grab the silver behind the impressive SOHO RHAPSODY. Her previous efforts at Menangle had all been from wide gates and despite a tough ask from the second line, she can still challenge.

FORBIDDEN JEWEL (8) will be sweating on the 1 looking to keep them wide and under that scenario her chances would rise exponentially. Still chasing her first Qld victory, she will be probing for gaps.

POLKA DELIGHT (5) was beaten by a wide gate last start when forced to retreat and from back in the pack faced a task too great as ELOUISA DALE carved it out in front. The gate looks awkward.

SELECTIONS: RACY ROXY (1), PRINCESS LEIA (10), FORBIDDEN JEWEL (8), POLKA DELIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: RACY ROXY (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

Not really having any luck in securing a marble ARCO (1) comes up with the advantage from the ace after some smart performances from bad draws. Chasing against the tempo when 6m from SOHO RHAPSODY last week, her win here four runs back was smart and she gets all the options to arrive.

ALEXIA ROSE (4) was an effortless winner in slick time here last week when tackling a second division mare’s contest. Firing off the arm to take control, she ran a new PB in taking the 8m margin. This is not that much tougher and with three wins in her past five starts, she can throw it down.

DELIGHTFUL LOU (8) has placed at her past two starts, the latest a game effort when parked and finishing 6m from SOHOH RHAPSODY. With the soft trip likely here, she will be probing for openings.

COME SAY HI (2) tackled band 5 mares last start and an early error ended her chances before they ever really started. Collared by PLAYA BLANCA two starts back, she will be in the firing line.

SELECTIONS: ARCO (1), ALEXIA ROSE (4), DELIGHTFUL LOU (8), COME SAY HI (2)
SUGGESTED BET: ARCO (1) to win

RACE NINE

Returning for another Qld campaign to a track where he has five wins in seven attempts, EXPENSIVE EGO (9) may be in familiar surroundings, but the stand start is a whole new experience. Having his first start from behind the tapes here, was beaten a head last start over 2300 behind ALTA ORLANDO. If he steps, he wins.

L L COOL J (8) was declared a non-runner in last week’s Flashing Red after deemed to have been denied a fair start. His effort was still full of merit when finishing 10m from the winner. Scoring victory at each of his previous three starts, all from the tapes, he looms as the obvious danger.

TIMS A TROOPER (1) makes his debut at the standing start off the back of a slashing run from deep field last start behind LEAP TO FAME. With a safe step early, this looms as a great gauge.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (3) started from this handicap in last week’s feature and was boxed in when the runs started to come. Not really sighting any space when 4m in arrears, the smaller field is a plus.

SELECTIONS: EXPENSIVE EGO (9), L L COOL J (8), TIMS A TROOPER (1), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: EXPENSIVE EGO (9) to win

RACE TEN

Proving to be a stellar addition to the Qld trotting ranks, ADELLE (7) has missed the money just once in her seven starts since arriving with Jack Butler. That miss was an off the charts 6th placing that broke the clock. Too slick for them last start over the mile, she is 2 from 2 at the mobile 2138 here and can claim the threepeat.

MAJESTIC HARRY (2) resumes from a spell after a last start 2nd when sent to the post as fav over the mobile mile. Holding on for 2nd when 1m in arrears of SUGARINSPICE, that coincided with ADELLE’s first Qld appearance where she was 3rd over the line. With a tidy trial, he can challenge fresh.

SUGARINSPICE (4) can fly out of the machine when the arms fold and can look to dart across early here. Placed at her past three starts including a 2nd to ADELLE when leading, she can feature again.

RED CASTLETON (8) secures the second line options here and at his best when tucked away on the poles and awaiting the closing shot. Conditions here give him the chance to descend on them.

SELECTIONS:
ADELLE (7), MAJESTIC HARRY (2), SUGARINSPICE (4), RED CASTLETON (8)
SUGGESTED BET:  ADELLE (7) to win
