RACE ONE

After some impressive trials in readiness for her debut, GAIT WITH GRACE (4) looked the ultimate professional when making her first race appearance here a fortnight ago. Stepping safely and trotting cleanly throughout to score, the added experience can see her look for the repeat.

NORTHERN HEIGHTS (4) was sent for a break after his last start victory where he defied the 10m handicap when pressing forward, taking control and pulling clear to victory. With two wins from his three starts by margins of 32m and 34m, the 20m handicap might be irrelevant.

ICANTDOIT (1) will take plenty of benefit from her debut performance when holding 2nd behind GAIT WITH GRACE. Off the front line and trotting cleanly, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GAIT WITH GRACE (4), NORTHERN HEIGHTS (4), ICANTDOIT (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

At her best when able to dictate in front, SET ME FREE (2) was snookered and not clean last week when midfield behind MY ULTIMATE EDDIE. Runner-up two starts back when taking the pocket trail, she can force the running early and pinching a panel or two will be hard to hold out.

THE REAPER (4) ducked in behind the leader here last week and with the soft trip was able to hold on for the silver. From the 20m tape with his great manners, he can be getting forward again here and settling handy to the action issue the challenge.

GETOVERROVER (1) is still chasing the maiden breaking victory and will receive the 20m advantage here. 2m from the in-form DEXTROUS DEXTER against his own age last time, he is ap lace hope.

NATTY PAGGER (8) had the 10m tape last week when grabbing 3rd when not too far from them. Not suited here two back when sitting parked, he can be closing out again here to chime in.

SELECTIONS: SET ME FREE (2), THE REAPER (4), GETOVERROVER (1), NATTY PAGGER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SET ME FREE (2) to win

RACE FOUR

Having her second Qld appearance last time out SHES FULLOFSPIRIT (1) was asked to do it tough when parked and was in for the fight in holding 2nd behind SOAP OPERA. Darwing gate 10 and gate 6 in her two local outings, the improved gate can be the catalyst for success.

CRUZ JOSHUA (4) chalked up another minor last start when 5m from SOAP OPERA to take his tally to 6 minors from his 8 attempts. Trying to see it out in front last start, he can press forward again and although he might need to roll the sleeves, can look to throw down the challenge.

TEDDY TURPIN (6) faced the inside second line on debut where he was able to hold on for 3rd in a race dictated in front by ROCKON ROCKY. The wide gate dents the hopes somewhat here second up.

CALL TO ORDER (8) looks set to enjoy the economical trip in behind the speed. Striking trouble last week, with the easy trip he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: SHES FULLOFSPIRIT (1), CRUZ JOSHUA (4), TEDDY TURPIN (6), CALL TO ORDER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SHES FULLOFSPIRIT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

Having his first Qld appearance in a much steadier Redcliffe event last time out, KALYPSO SAM (1) sat parked over the 1780m trip and was able to graft out a smart win, pulling clear to post a 6m margin. This is tougher, but from the gate, he gets the chance to chase a repeat.

MISTER DOMINGO (8) will strip fitter from his last start where he was returning from a spell. Faced with gate 7, he was snagged to the rear and never a factor as ARCHILLES claimed the prize. Tackling the Breeders Classic the start prior, he can be tucked away ready to fire some closing bullets.

SWEET GEORGIA BROWN (9) is still giving away experience to her rivals, but her effort last start in the Qld Oaks Consolation was full of merit at just her 3rd career start. She is in the mix here.

EMPRESS BYELINE (10) put in a smart performance in the Oaks Consolation when 8m astern of the winner SHEZ THE REASON. The gate stings, but she hits the board at better than 50%.

SELECTIONS: KALYPSO SAM (1), MISTER DOMIONGO (8), SWEET GEORGIA BROWN (9), EMPRESS BYELINE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-8-9-10

RACE SIX

CRIME TIME (1)
makes his Qld debut for Narissa McMullen, and the experienced performer finds the perfect race to make his local debut. Beaten a lip two starts back at Canberra when buried in the run, he has early hustle and with the options can kick off on the right leg.

SWINGING GEORGE (2) was first up for the new stable last start where he was well supported and asked to grind it out first over was able to hold on for 2nd. The chance to get in behind the 1 horse looks a viable play here and from there he can issue a challenge.

LANCELOT BROMAC (8) added another minor to his tally last start when putting the head down and chasing the line to be under 2m from the winner. He will be making his usual strong close out.

VALLANI MAGIC (10) makes her first appearance at HQ off the back of a tidy 2nd last start from gate 6 at Redcliffe. Eased at the start before attacking late, she can be joining in here.

SELECTIONS: CRIME TIME (1), SWINGING GEORGE (2), LANCELOT BROMAC (8), VALLANI MAGIC (10)
SUGGESTED BET:  CRIME TIME (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

Despite the outside front line alley, a big drop in grade back to Tuesday company can see CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (7) back in winning form. 7m away when just out of the money in the 4YO Championship last start, he went down swinging in The Hayden the start prior. He has the class.

TAIRLAW TOLL (6) covered plenty of territory last time out from this same gate when sent forward but forced to fight hard to get to the chair. A winner at his previous four in succession, limiting the burn can see him throw down the challenge.

AMERICAN OUTLAW (8) settled at the rear last start and off the back of a slick tempo was able to descend on them to claim a 2m margin. Tucked away with the soft trip, he will be probing.

COPPERFIELD (1) is still chasing his first win of 2023 but maps for the easy trip behind the speed and can look to chime in when the gaps present.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (7), TAIRLAW TOLL (6), AMERICAN OUTLAW (8), COPPERFIELD (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

Settled in the running line in the Oaks last start, SKY BLU (2) was trying to go with them in the closing stages when finishing in the second half of the pack. Bereft of luck at her previous start from gate 7 in the South East Oaks, she has the arm hustle to get forward and cash in.

REDS STAR DEAL (6) is still a maiden on this deck, placing in 5 of his 11 starts here. Sent forward from gate 4 last start at Redcliffe, he worked to the front and then was never tested in claiming a 6m margin. The wide gate stings, but he is in great touch and can look to cash in.

LUVBITE (10) has placed in all four starts since arriving in Qld, the latest when chasing gamely to be under 2m from subsequent winner ELOUISA DALE. A solid temp will aid his chances.

MERRY DANCER (1) will be first up in Qld for Narissa McMullen, arriving off the back of a last start 4th at Kilmore. With a tidy trial to open the pipes, the inside gate is a huge plus.

SELECTIONS: SKY BLU (2), REDS STAR DEAL (6), LUVBITE (10), MERRY DANCER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SKY BLU (2) to win

RACE NINE

Setting a strong tempo last start over the longer 2280m trip at Redcliffe, ROCK SUPREME (4) was gripping on down the stretch when nabbed in the closing strides up the passing lane. Chasing a hat-trick of victories in that battle, he can force the issue here and strong arm his way to victory.

LAST TIME JOE (3) faced the outside front line last start at Redcliffe and was strong to the line in the closing stages when 3m astern of the winner MISTER REACTOR. Attacking the line strongly two starts back in the J C McMullen, he can settle handy enough to issue the closing challenge.

HARRY KANE (1) faced this same gate last week where he was buried in the run three back and needing some factors in his favour. Slicing between runners to score, he will be probing again.

ALWAYSBME (7) tackled The Hayden last start when snagged to the rear from gate 4 and searching for short cuts was not too far from them. Despite the wide gate, she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: ROCK SUPREME (4), LAST TIME JOE (3), HARRY KANE (1), ALWAYSBME (7)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK SUPREME (4) to win

RACE TEN

A tricky old timers’ contest to close the card where the early tempo will be key to the closing chances. Back to this grade for the first time since January, PARAVANI (2) has the arm hustle to get across here and pinching a panel will be hard nut to crack in front.

KID MONTANA (7) has no favours from the outside gate but has been in nice touch in recent attempts. Needing a gap sooner than it arrived lasty start behind TIZ A SIZZLER, if he can limit the mid-race pressure, he can be issuing a challenge.

FEELINGFORARAINBOW (6) returns from a break after his last run when starting fav but finishing midfield at this trip. With the right cart home, he can be joining in.

THE SHADY ONE (1) is without a minor in his 6 attempts this season but maps for the cosy trip in behind the speed. He will be trying to make a late play when the gap presents in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: PARAVANI (2), KID MONTANA (7), FEELINGFORARAINBOW (6), THE SHADY ONE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: PARAVANI (2) to win
