RACE ONE

This is a cracking race to open the card where TIMS A TROOPER (5) makes his first appearance since the 4YO Championships when beaten by the second line as CANTFINDABETTORMAN secured the trip to land the win with a strong front-end tempo. The wider gate hurts, but he can arrive.

CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (3) attacked the line in smart fashion in the 4YO Championship when just out of the money. Bouncing back with a mid-week victory over this trip when closing strongly to claim victory, he has the gate and versatility to be handy enough to throw down the challenge.

CLASSIE WASHINGTON (2) should relish the improved gate after facing gate 6 three starts back and the second line at his past two. Game in defeat last start when parked, he is right in the fight here.

ALTA REVELRY (6) was deep in the pack here last week from gate 10 and was rattling home late when beaten a head, breaking 54 for his last 800 wide off the track The gate is a tough ask again.

SELECTIONS: TIMS A TROOPER (5), CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (3), CLASSIE WASHINGTON (2), ALTA REVELRY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TIMS A TROOPER (5) to win

RACE THREE

An intriguing contest to dissect with the front line racked with speed and pressure. Placed at his past two starts, THE GROGFATHER (3) was strong to the line last start in a qualifier when grabbing the bronze behind DARK TERROR. Runner-up to BEACH VILLA two back, he finds the gate to make a play.

BIG SKEWY (1) was repelled in the early stages last start after a strong challenge for the front, before eventually forcing his way to the front with a lap to travel. Trying to bust them open down the back with a 27.7 last split, he was in for the fight when beaten a neck. With options, he can challenge.

HAVEYOUCHECKEDIN (5) was making his first appearance back in Qld this campaign on Tuesday when finishing out of the money behind KASH US BACK. Tackling older horses, the gate is awkward.

AMAMI (8) has been in super form in recent starts, the latest when sharing the victory in a 70Heat in a career PB. Hitting the line strongly, it followed a close 2nd to DARK TERROR. He will be probing.

SELECTIONS: THE GROGFATHER (3), BIG SKEWY (1), HAVEYOUCHECKEDIN (5), AMAMI (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3- / 1-2-3-5-8 / 1-2-3-5-8

RACE FOUR

Fitter following one run back from a spell which was his first Qld appearance, SIR SONNY MAGUIRE (10) was snagged back from gate 6 with plenty of speed drawn to his inside. Stil last at the 400, he attacked the line with gusto as HOLD ONTO YA BLING scored in sharp time. Tempo will be his friend.

CLASS TO THE MAX (6) faces a stiff ask from the wide gate, but he is a horse that never seems to have much go his way yet is never far from the action. He charged home last week behind the dead-heating AMAMI and BETTERTHANAROCKET after being snookered and cannot be underestimated.

LAURIE DEE (1) released last start when pressured early and then was stuck searching for a gap when the leader hoisted the white flag. With options, he can get better luck here to feature.

MISTER REACTOR (8) was locked away on the poles at Redcliffe three runs back and charged late to claim a smart win. Midfield from gate 6 last start, he can get the soft trip and be probing late.

SELECTIONS: SIR SONNY MAGUIRE (10), CLASS TO THE MAX (6), LAURIE DEE (1), MISTER REACTOR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR SONNY MAGUIRE (10) each-way

RACE FIVE

An even set of mares currently sit in this B5 bracket and you could make a case for a number of them here depending on the set up. TALENT TO SPARE (10) was sent to sit parked here last week and was game in grinding out the bronze when 2m from the winner. She can defy the gate.

ALWAYSBME (1) lands her best gate in some time with her effort last start in a 70Heat from gate 7 full of merit behind the flying ROCK SUPREME. Not too far off them in The Hayden two starts back, she can secure the economical trip and be ready to peel in the stretch to challenge.

PLAYA BLANCA (3) has faced a second line gate at her past two starts, the latest from deep field and running her own last 800 in sub 55 chasing ELOUISA DALE. With early speed, she can be handy.

RACY ROXY (5) claimed the fastest last half out of the ELOUISA DALE race last week and also covered the most ground when closing hard wide off the track. From the sticky gate, she can still feature.

SELECTIONS: TALENT TO SPARE (10), ALWAYSBME (1), PLAYA BLANCA (3), RACY ROXY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TALENT TO SPARE (10) to win

RACE SIX

Making her first Qld appearance last week in a second division mare’s qualifier, COCORA (3) was first up in over 8-weeks without a trial. From the second line, there was plenty to like in how she attacked the line over he closing stages and with good speed out of the machine, can step up.

MISS DAYTONA (4) powered up from gate 5 last time out to find the front and was trying to see it out, only to be nabbed up the passing lane. A half-head from the winner, her previous two were form the second line and settling forward once again can look to issue a challenge.

DELIGHTFUL LOU (8) gains a return to the main draw after being on the ODM embargo list last start. There was merit in the effort after doing some early work and if a gap arrives, she can chime in.

JILLIBY CHAMBERS (6) is given no favours as she looks to continue her solid form that sees her go in search of a hat-trick of wins. Making the passing lane shot a winning one last start, she has claims.

SELECTIONS: COCORA (3), MISS DAYTONA (4), DELIGHTFUL LOU (8), JILLIBY CHAMBERS (6)
SUGGESTED BET:  COCORA (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

With three appearances here at The Creek, NOBLE TRICK (10) has shown good improvement at his past two, the latest when grabbing 3rd. That was in a 70Heat behind the dead-heating AMAMI and BETTERTHANAROCKET where he was attacking the line late. Some early tempo will aid his cause.

BOSCH (2) was buried here last week, had no momentum turning for home and had nowhere to go as he went to the line untested as DARK TERROR arrived. His early speed is unknown of late, having started from the second line at his past 8 in succession. The map is a query, but he is up to this.

PRINCE JOY (1) has been racing in consistent touch and snares the ally for the soft trip. Snagged off the gate to settle at the rear last start, he was closing out hard and will be probing here.

BIDE OUR TIME (3) snagged back from gate 5 last start and kept coming over the closing stages when grabbing the bronze behind ZOOM PARTY. He might need to grind it out.

SELECTIONS: NOBLE TRICK (10), BOSCH (2), PRINCE JOY (1), BIDE OUR TIME (3)
SUGGESTED BET: NOBLE TRICK (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

SOVIET STUNNER (5)
did not engage with ARMA RENEGADE to her inside here last week, settling in the 1x1 trail but the closing speed made it a tough chase. Strong to the line from deep field here two starts back when runner-up behind MAGICAL MAYA, she can fire some early rockets to stake a claim.

HEAVENLY SIGN (10) was asked to do the heavy lifting here last week where she faded over the closing stages after the torrid trip in sharp time. Claiming successive Newcastle victories prior to her first Qld appearance, she can look for a cart into the contest to issue a challenge.

REMY BROWN (9) was left chasing in vain here last week as was anything back in the pack as ARMA RENEGADE dealt from the front. Making some nice metres when 3m from the winner BETTYS LASS here two starts back, she can secure the right cart through to issue a closing challenge.

ALEXIA ROSE (8) has placed at her past two, the latest from this same gate where she was snookered int eh run and found late space for the bronze. Locked away again, she will be probing.

SELECTIONS: SOVIET STUNNER (5), HEAVENLY SIGN (10), REMY BROWN (9), ALEXIA ROSE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SOVIET STUNNER (5) to win

RACE NINE

From just two previous attempts from the standing start, MIRACLE MOOSE (6) can boast a win in the Redcliffe Cup Consolation where he stepped to the front and took them all the way. Sizzling home from deep field here last week where he broke 54 for his last 800, conditions look ideal.

MACH SHARD (9) has been given an easy time since winning the opening race on the Final night of the Carnival where he turned back the clock to descend on them. That was over 13 furlongs which he eats up and while he faces 20m here back at the 2138 trip, he can be charging late to challenge.

ROCK BOTTOM (2) is unplaced in two attempts from the tapes, both of those coming earlier this season. Safely away in his one attempt on this deck, a soft trip will suit his chances.

COLT THIRTY ONE (8) angled to the inside last start and the tempo put it out of reach as LEAP TO FAME blitzed them up the stretch. A safe beginner, the conditions and small field help.

SELECTIONS: MIRACLE MOOSE (6), MACH SHARD (9), ROCK BOTTOM (2), COLT THIRTY ONE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MIRACLE MOOSE (6) to win

RACE TEN

Building into his campaign to suggest he is nearing a return to his peak, GLOBAL FLIGHT (1) went down swinging last start when beaten a head by GUS. The time was slick, and his own rate was quicker than the track record. He has not started from the mobile in 12 months, but previous speed suggests he can burrow through to capitalise.

SIR FAHRENHEIT (8) will be hoping to land leaders back once the dust settles and under that scenario his hopes would rise exponentially. Asked to hang tough here last start over the 2647 when parked, he closed nicely here two back after facing the second line. He will be probing.

SUGARINSPICE (9) fired off the arm to find the poles before releasing for a trial last start in the G1 Qld Trotters Cup and held 3rd behind MAJESTIC TRIO. A winner at both prior starts, the second line dents her hopes.

FUNNY FACE (7) is a mare on the up and was chasing a hat-trick of victories last start when finishing a neck from the smart GUS. Powering home from a 30m handicap two back, she will be right in this.

SELECTIONS: GLOBAL FLIGHT (1), SIR FAHRENHEIT (8), SUGARINSPICE (9), FUNNY FACE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GLOBAL FLIGHT (1) to win
