RACE ONE

An up to 60 for the 5YO and older campaigners to open the QStars night where CAPTAINS PICK (9) can defy the second line gate. Beaten by gate 7 last week when snagged off the arm to settle rearward as HOLY CAMP DILLON dictated, it followed a 2nd behind SURF ACE. This looks well within reach.

LAST TIME JOE (6) showed good hustle in the early stages last start before receiving cover. Fighting hard to the line when holding 3rd and under 2m from the airborne ROCK SUPREME, that was a 70heat and back to an up to 60 here, finds conditions to overcome the tricky gate.

BLACKJACK BART (4) tackled a second division qualifier over the 2138 two starts back where he was driven hard to protect gate 1. Headed with a lap to travel, he fought back gamely to be under 5m from the winner and is right in the mix here.

MARETTI (10) has placed at his past three starts, the latest at Redcliffe when sitting parked in handy time. The second line makes it a tough ask.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAINS PICK (9), LAST TIME JOE (6), BLACKJACK BART (4), MARETTI (10)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAINS PICK (9) to win

RACE THREE

With great speed out of the machine and with a huge barrier draw advantage over his rivals, APOLLO DREAMZ (1) looks to get every chance to claim the G1 victory. Putting the opposition to the sword in the heats when scoring effortlessly by 29m, four runs back he was 3rd in The Hayden.

FOR REAL LIFE (11) faded out last start in the Queensland Sun on July 1 with a subsequent issue detected that has kept him off the scene since. A slick trial winner when peeling off the back of SPEAK THE TRUTH and zipping past, he can look to defy the gate to issue the challenge.

HOLD ONTO YA BLING (10) was the other heat winner when leading from gate 3 and from the front was never headed in an easy 7m victory. He has the class, yet the gate puts a big dent in his hopes.

FREE THINKER (7) faced this same gate at his last appearance in the Derby Consolation when making some late ground from deep field behind NEPTUNE. Claiming the Rising Sun consolation three back, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: APOLLO DREAMZ (1), FOR REAL LIFE (11), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (10), FREE THINKER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: APOLLO DREAMZ (1) to win

RACE FOUR

The dam of TORQUE LIKE MOTION (1) was runner-up in the Qld Oaks and the Triad Final back in 2010. Going one-better than her mum in the Oaks when rattling home to claim the victory during the carnival, she lands the perfect gate to add another victory that eluded Torque In Motion. Keeping the pipes open with a win at this trip 8 days ago, it all looks in her favour from this gate.

JEWEL MELODY (9) started fav in the Qld Oaks at her last start and from gate 6 was forced to do it tough when sitting parked. Unable to go on with it, she faded in the closing stages to finish midfield to miss the money for the first time in 7 starts here at The Creek. Claiming the South East Oaks here two starts back, she can bounce back.

CHEER LEADER (5) was rattling home in the closing stages of the Qld Oaks when finishing runner-up to TORQUE LIKE MOTION. With a smart trial since that run to keep sharp, she can get forward to stake a claim.

MULLUM RUBY (12) claimed her heat when powering up late from the second line to arrive in the last strides. That was her first win beyond the mile and can be chiming in again here.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE LIKE MOTION (1), JEWEL MELODY (9), CHEER LEADER (5), MULLUM RUBY (12)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE LIKE MOTION (1) to win

RACE FIVE

Claiming victory in the Breeders Classic earlier in the season, QUIK CHANGE (1) lands all the favours to chase the QBRED double. Defeating the older horses last start when rattling late, he was game in defeat two starts back when parked. With the arm hustle to dictate his position, he can cash in.

BRONSKI ZULU (8) kept a solid tempo out in front when claiming his heat and pulling clear to claim a 15m margin. Making late metres when 3rd to DELE ROW two runs back, he will be stalking the speed here and be ready to pull the trigger when the space presents.

COSMIC FLYER (3) has developed a smart record of three wins in five appearances and looks to have plenty of upside, winning on ability, still with a bit to learn. Seeing it out in front in his heat, he can be close enough to make a play.

DELE ROW (10) set the tempo from gate 1 last start and after a steady time in the early stages was able to rip home a slick 27.2 closing panel to claim victory. Runner-up in both prior starts, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: QUIK CHANGE (1), BRONSKI ZULU (8), COSMIC FLYER (3), DELE ROW (10)
SUGGESTED BET: QUIK CHANGE (1) to win

RACE SIX

Returning from a spell last time out in a mixed sex event, RYLEE RHAYNE BOW (1) was slammed with gate 7 where she retreated and never really got warm over the closing stages. Sent for a break after a gritty 3rd after moving around from the second line to sit parked, she opened the pipes with a slick trial and lands all the favours from the gate.

EVER ART (7) is lightly raced and arrives back in Qld looking to maintain a perfect record. Scoring smartly on debut at Wagga, she was impressive in claiming the Breeders Classic back in May. Sent for a break thereafter, she has opened the pipes in a pair of Menangle trials but faces a task with the visitors draw in chasing the threepeat.

BETTOR CULLECT (10) has three wins from just four starts, her latest victory in the Redcliffe Sales Final where she was too slick for them out in front. Runner-up to EVER ART at her only appearance here at The Creek, a recent trial has her in the mix.

SYNCHRONIZER (5) was allowed to balance up out of the machine before being sent forward to take control in her heat and once in charge, claimed an easy 10m margin. Sent forward, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: RYLEE RHAYNE BOW (1), EVER ART (7), BETTOR CULLECT (10), SYNCHRONIZER (5)
SUGGESTED BET:  RYLEE RHAYNE BOW (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

Fresh off claiming the inaugural The Hayden, SPEAK THE TRUTH (2) is a big winner from the barrier draw, landing inside all the main threats in this race. Sent around them to sit parked from the 1200 in The Hayden, it was a starchy performance in holding on for the victory. He can grab another feature enroute to The Eureka.

FUTURE ASSURED (5) has been kept fresh since The Hayden where from inside the second line, he was eased off the inside and put into the fight at the mile before receiving cover at the 1200 and finishing 9m from the winner. Mapping is the concern, but if he can get a mid-race breather, looks the best placed to issue some form of challenge.

CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (6) forced the issue in The Hayden four starts back but could not hold out SPEAK THE TRUTH. Left flat when TIMS A TROOPER dropped him last week, the gate stings.

BIG SHADOW (7) was huge in defeat here two starts back at this trip and then last start was again asked for a big effort when parked in a slick mile at Redcliffe. The gate makes it a tough ask.

SELECTIONS: SPEAK THE TRUTH (2), FUTURE ASSURED (5), CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (6), BIG SHADOW (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SPEAK THE TRUTH (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

The barrier draw for this 4YO mares Final has fallen to the advantage of ALWAYSBME (1) in a race where there looks 2-3 genuine winning chances and then a gap back to the rest. Darting through from this gate at the mile last week to take them all the way, the middle trip is no concern and with the luck of the marble, is the one to beat.

RACY ROXY (3) retreated from the middle of the line here last week before attacking the line strongly in the closing stages when midfield behind ALWAYSBME. That followed a similarly smart effort when 5m from ELOUSIA DALE. Beaten a head at this trip in the Rising Sin Consolation, she looms ominously.

ROSES ARE SWEET (6) tackled a 70heat last start when strong to the line in the closing stages to finish 5m from the dead-heating pair of AMAMI and BETTERTHANAROKET. Back to mares’ grade is a plus.

MAGICAL MAYA (10) was the winner of the 3YO division of the Triad last year and has worked her way back into some winning form in recent starts. Chasing from back in the pack last start behind HOLY CAMP DILLON, she is up to the task for the repeat.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYSBME (1), RACY ROXY (3), ROSES ARE SWEET (6), MAGICAL MAYA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3 / 1-3-6-10 / 1-3-6-8-10

RACE NINE

Completing a hat-trick of victories last start when successful over the mobile mile, DEXTROURS DEXTER (7) should appreciate a return to equal marks for this Final. Overcoming the 20m impost when scoring here two starts back, he defeated the older performers three back. He gets his chance to claim a big one.

WEWILLSEEHHOWWEGO (3) is an enigmatic performer and was banished to the trials last time out after making an error when the tapes released. He put it all together two starts back, stepping to the front and powering up in front to pull away to a 30m margin to set an age record at the trip. If he can step, he can throw it down.

GLENEAGLE REIGN (6) capitalised from the mobile last start when firing out from gate 3 to take control and once in front was never headed. Placed in all four prior starts including a 2nd in the trotters Derby, he is right in the fight.

KENETURIO (3) was asked to hang tough when parked in the trotters Oaks, fading over the closing stages after the tough trip. A return to standing start conditions is in her favour.

SELECTIONS: DEXTROUS DEXTER (7), WEWILLSEEHHOWWEGO (3), GLENEAGLE REIGN (6), KENETURIO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: DEXTROUS DEXTER (7) to win

RACE TEN

Just a field of 6 for the 2YO Triad final where the unbeaten GAIT WITH GRACE (1) has stepped up to each task as it has been presented. Showing brilliant manners and a perfect gait, she is unbeaten in three career starts and is the only runner with a win over the 2138 trip they face here. She looks to get every chance.

NORTHERN HEIGHTS (3) was tracking into the race strongly last start and looked set to be a huge factor in the finish until striking trouble at the 400 and his chances expired. A game 2nd two starts back when resuming from a spell, he looks the obvious threat and already a two-time winner can throw it down.

JUSTABITLIKESULLY (6) was a distanced 3rd last start after striking trouble in the run as GAIT WITH GRACE pulled clear to a big victory. Placed in three of five in his career, he can chase some the minor money.

SELECTIONS: GAIT WITH GRACE (1), NORTHERN HEIGHTS (3), JUSTABITLIKESULLY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GAIT WITH GRACE (1) to win
