RACE ONE

The 2YO Springboard Final looks a showdown between the Melissa Gillies trained pair. NORTHERN HEIGHTS (3) made an error in the Triad Final and it looked like his night was done. Resetting, he charged around them, took over and then was only nabbed late. He can gain redemption.

GAIT WITH GRACE (1) has shown perfect manners in all four starts and in the Triad Final, was safely away and setting the tempo until releasing NORTHERN HEIGHTS. Fighting on for 3rd to end her three-run winning streak, she has the manners to throw down a big challenge.

JUSTABITLIKESULLY (5) is still chasing a maiden breaking victory after six attempts. Placed in three of those, he can be chasing them home to grab the bronze.

SELECTIONS: NORTHERN HEIGHTS (3), GAIT WITH GRACE (1), JUSTABITLIKESULLY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3 / 1 / 5

RACE THREE

A small but very open trot contest where IM THE COMMANDO (4) made an error last start to end his chances from the 30m impost. At his best when able to roll along, he can get away safely and with the three runners ahead of him a risk from the tapes, he can find the front where he likes it.

EVERYSECONDCOUNTS (6) turned her form around here two starts back when darting through a gap after securing the prefect trip to take a 3m winning margin. Starting off 10m in that victory, she was off 20 last start and was again strong late to grab 3rd behind THE REAPER. She can issue a challenge.

NATTY PAGER (5) was a winner here four starts back when working home strongly to claim the prize from this same mark. Midfield last start, the smaller field will be in his favour.

INSTANT DELIGHT (7) has got it all wrong at her past two starts to end her day on both occasions. Placed in both runs prior, if she can trot cleanly, she has podium claims in this line up.

SELECTIONS: IM THE COMMANDO (4), EVERYSECONDCOUNTS (6), NATTY PAGER (5), INSTANT DELIGHT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: IM THE COMMANDO (4) to win

RACE FOUR

Catching the eye on debut when starting from the second line, FIREBOLT (1) should appreciate the barrier improvement to tackle this contest. Making a strong challenge wide out to move up, she was 2m from the winner TEDDY TURPIN. With all the options, she looks the one to cash in.

MOVE HEAVENNEARTH (5) was supported to start in red figures last week from gate 1 and after initially poking through and looking set to hold them out, she broke gait and her chances looked done. Rallying strongly after resetting to be just 4m from the winner, she can look to turn it around.

SHACKOUTTHEBACK (4) was sent forward to sit parked here last week and after the tough trip, faded over the latter stages as TEDDY TURPIN saw them home. Limiting the work will aid her hopes.

BIG ROCK SINGER (6) is a Rock N Rol Heaven gelding on debut for Darren Weeks that has done everything asked in his educating and qualifying trial.

SELECTIONS: FIREBOLT (1), MOVE HEAVENNEARTH (5), SHACKOUTTHEBACK (4), BIG ROCK SINGER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FIREBOLT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

First up for the new barn last start at Redcliffe, FLY CHEVAL (1) was snookered in the run from inside the second line and faced a forlorn task after being carted back through the pack. Making good ground in the closing stages to grab 2nd, with better luck from this gate, she can look to cash in.

HESLUVABLE (4) was asked to sit parked last start and after the tough trip faded in the closing stages. Beaten by gate 7 here two starts back when taken to the rear and hoping for some luck, he can look to dart across them here and from the front would throw down a challenge.

LANCELOT BROMAC (5) was able to hold the pocket trail last start and was making a late raid up the passing lane when 2m from the winner FINANCIALLY STABLE. Despite the gate, he will be chiming in.

WHATA JOURNEY (8) will be tucked away here awaiting some late gaps. Grabbed in the last stride when in front last time, she has podium claims again.

SELECTIONS: FLY CHEVAL (1), HESLUVABLE (4), LANCELOT BROMAC (5), WHATA JOURNEY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-5-8

RACE SIX

The middle trip of the 2138 will be finding a few of these out and despite being winless over the journey, ARCHILLES (11) might just get his chance to capitalise. A beaten fav last start when trying to take them all the way, he was wide for a long way two runs back when 3rd and can stake a claim.

APHRODITE (12) had trialled in good order in preparation for her first Qld appearance. Securing running line cover when stepping out for the first time, she was able to hold on for the bronze behind SWEET GEORGIA BROWN. Gate 12 is no luxury, but in an open contest, she can challenge.

FINANCIALLY STABLE (8) found the right conditions last start to descend on them in the closing stages and claim a 2m margin. Likely to be buried away, he will be searching for openings.

IMA BIRUBI BOY (5) has been runner-up in five of his past six starts, the past three in succession. Gunned down here last start at the mile, he will not be too far away again here.

SELECTIONS: ARCHILLES (11), APHRODITE (12), FINANCIALLY STABLE (8), IMA BIRUBI BOY (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

LUVBITE (9)
was finally able to snare his first Qld victory here last week after being a model of consistency, expanding his record on this deck to 12: 1-4-5. Spearing across to take them all the way, he attacked the line his previous two in strong fashion and can descend on them here.

SWEET GEORGIA BROWN (3) was sent forward from gate 4 last week and taking control was able to pull clear and put up a 14m margin over her rivals to claim a new career PB. A beaten fav at the middle trip the start prior, she can throw it down again from this alley.

WILD IMAGINATION (6) is on the back up from Sat night where she was down to tackle a mare’s qualifier from outside the second line. Only collared in the last strides two back, she is in the mix.

CHARLIE CHUCKLES (5) resumes from a spell after more than 12 months off the scene. A three-time winner, he has trialled in smart fashion and will improve with further racing.

SELECTIONS: LUVBITE (9), SWEET GEORGIA BROWN (3), WILD IMAGINATION (6), CHARLIE CHUCKLES (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LUVBITE (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

Normally a handover type, OBI ONE (1) will likely be seeking cover on the right runner to ensure he can then stalk the speed. Holding on for the bronze two runs back behind APHORISM, he was runner-up to that same winner three back. He will tuck in ready to make the winning move.

COMMODORE JUJON (5) was second up from a spell last start when doing it the tradesman’s way, grinding away outside the leader. Looming up in the stretch, he fought hard for the bronze as DESPONDENT darted through on the passing lane to score. He can throw it down.

SPIRIT AND SOUL (3) had caught the eye in a couple of runs leading up to his outing here last week which saw him start in red figures. Unable to reel them in when 4m away, he can be thereabouts.

OUR MAJOR DAY (7) has no favours from the outside paint, but he might just have the speed to cross them if he charged hard. Strong to the line last start from gate 10, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: OBI ONE (1), COMMODORE JUJON (5), SPIRIT AND SOUL (3), OUR MAJOR DAY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OBI ONE (1) to win

RACE NINE

Second up in Qld last start when tackling an easier contest at Redcliffe, EURO BEAT (2) eased from gate 6 to settle rearward. Rattling hard down the outside, he was able to pick them up and claim a smart win. Not suited when sitting parked first up, he might be able to pinch an open contest.

MIDNIGHT CALM (6) tackled a qualifier last start where he was crossed from gate 1 before moving out for the retake. Trying to fight them off, he was grabbed by NOBLE TRICK in the closing stages which took the sit on him. The gate is tricky, but he won from here three back when parked.

AMAMI (9) settled in the running line last start when trying to make a late raid and finishing unplaced behind LUVBITE. A passing lane winner here three runs back, tempo will suit his claims.

ALTA SENSATION (5) started from inside the second line last start and not much went his way when finishing down the line behind MIDNIGHT CALM. Kept fresh since that outing, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: EURO BEAT (2), MIDNIGHT CALM (6), AMAMI (9), ALTA SENSATION (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TEN

Drawn inside the second line at his past two starts MULLUM BOY (2) should appreciate a return to the front line for this open battle. Probing for a run two back when 3rd to OUR UNCLE NEV. Out of the money last start behind SWEET GEORGIA BROWN, he can look to cash in.

CAPTAIN OF SPEED (1) was first up in Qld for the new stable off the back of a spell last start where she settled in the 1x1 trail. Looming strongly at the 300, she could not finish them off, ultimately finishing 9m from the winner. With all the options, she can issue a challenge second up.

SISTA BLISS (5) settled in the running line last start and was out of the money from her second line gate behind NEVADA YANKEE. Not much has been in her favour this prep, but she can turn it around.

LORD OF MISRULE (8) is another that has not had much go his way this campaign, the latest from this same gate when snookered in the run and searching for gaps. With a slice of luck, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: MULLUM BOY (2), CAPTAIN OF SPEED (1), SISTA BLISS (5), LORD OF MISRULE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MULLUM BOY (2) to win
