RACE ONE

A tricky little contest to open proceedings with a few searching for a handy spot. MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (3) had the speed to lead last start before releasing and then shuffled to three back. Chasing through for the silver behind SMIRKS LIKA BOSS, he can settle close enough to capitalise.

HES SWEET (4) did not have the pickup along the passing lane last start from the pocket trail as OOGA CHAKA descended on them. Gunned down in front here two starts back by subsequent Saturday night winner SHADOW MINISTER, he can roll forward to throw it down here.

BETTY GOLD CLASS (2) fired out from gate 1 here four runs back and from the front was able to take them all the way. Out of the money in all three since, she can run the arm here to feature.

OCTOBER RACKETEER (1) was chasing a hat-trick here two runs back when finishing 8m astern of the winner ETERNAL GOLD. Luckless last start when forced to retreat, he will be probing for an opening.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (3), HES SWEET (4), BETTY GOLD CLASS (2), OCTOBER RACKETEER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-4

RACE THREE

MARETTI (3)
is chasing his first win of the season and might just have found the ideal conditions for the breakthrough. Asked to hang tough when sent to sit first over last start, he had no luck here two starts back when forced to retreat. He can force the issue early here and look to capitalise.

JUST JOSHIN (1) has hit the board just once from 21 attempts this season but that is probably not a fair indication of his performances. Midfield and just 6m form the winner ELOUISA DALE last start, two runs back he was thereabouts behind LULU LUCIFER. He can be tucked away, ready to strike.

LITTLE CHANGE (9) has been in nice touch of late, finishing his races off strongly. Holding 3rd in a strong 70heat last start behind O B LEGAL, he was just 3m away two back when chasing a hat-trick.

ARTFUL MAID (8) was making late metres at Marburg last start when finishing 6m from WOODLEA DIEGO in a standing start contest. With the right trail through, she can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: MARETTI (3), JUST JOSHIN (1), LITTLE CHANGE (9), ARTFUL MAID (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MARETTI (3) to win

RACE FOUR

ENGLISH DANCE (8) started form this same gate at this trip last start when settled in the running line and owning superior closing power to take the prize. This is not too much harder and with the right trail in transit can look to claim a repeat victory.

BATMAN BART (1) struck trouble last start over the AP mile that ended his chances. Buried in the run here two starts back where he could not get into the battle, he comes up with a vastly improved barrier and settling close to the action can look to issue a challenge.

JOHNROD (4) was sent around them from outside the second line over the AP 2138 last time out and was in for the fight when under 4m from the winner. He can grind it out again here.

VODKA EN ICE (7) grabbed the bronze along the passing lane here three starts back. His past two have been at HQ, the latest when trying to see out from the front. He will be probing here.

SELECTIONS: ENGLISH DANCE (8), BATMAN BART (1), JOHNROD (4), VODKA EN ICE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: ENGLISH DANCE (8) to win

RACE FIVE

FOVEAUX MAJOR (1)
eased from gate 4 last start and settling rearward never got into the contest over the closing stages. Chasing the in-form MISTER HART at his past three in succession, he can be tucked in behind the speed, awaiting the passing lane to take the snipers shot.

OYSTER STRIDE (2) has worked his way back into form and was chasing a hat-trick of victories last start when finishing with the bronze, 5m astern of the winner DIEGO DELGADO. Forcing the issue from gate 4 when pressing forward to dictate two runs back, he will be gripping on here.

GRIGORA (6) has no favours from the outside paint, yet he has been in good touch of late, hitting the board in five of his past six. Descending on them to score here two back, he is in the mix.

FOR NO REASON (3) started from inside the second line last start and in the trail throughout, did not have the zip to make an impression in the stretch. She can be handy enough to be thereabouts here.

SELECTIONS: FOVEAUX MAJOR (1), OYSTER STRIDE (2), GRIGORA (6), FOR NO REASON (3)
SUGGESTED BET: FOVEAUX MAJOR (1) to win

RACE SIX

WHATELEY (2)
should appreciate a return to mobile conditions after missing away from the tapes here last week. Competing through the Brisbane Show before being sent out as the fav in one of last week’s finals, he has the ram hustle to be in position to stake a claim.

HEAVENLY SEA (8) was sent forward to do it the tough way here two starts back and working hard in the run, fought on to hold 3rd. She did not gain the smoothest passage here last week when finishing down the line and with the right trail in the early stages here, can look to issue a challenge.

WESTERN SHOWGIRL (9) finished midfield last start at Marburg when trying to make a run in the latter stages. Chasing OYSTER STRIDE two starts back, she can look to make start 100 memorable.

DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (1) was a winner here four runs back when finishing over the top of them from the second line to score. With the options available here, he can grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: WHATELEY (2), HEAVENLY SEA (8), WESTERN SHOWGIRL (9), DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (1)
SUGGESTED BET:  WHATELEY (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (5)
is drawn awkwardly in the wide alley here, but his form in recent starts has been solid, claiming two wins from his past three outings. Powering home over the top of them last start over the AP mile to claim a PB return, he can look to finish best again here.

CIRCLE LINE (2) was fired off the gate from outside the front line at Marburg last start and taking control was able to control the tempo and take them all the way. Placed his previous two starts, he can force it early here and from the front end, throw it down.

TOMMY BLIGH (9) was snookered in the run last start when 6m astern of the winner TACTICS ARE ROLLIN. Runner-up to the in-form OYSTER STRIDE here two back, he can be joining in.

HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (3) was not really suited over the AP 2138 last start but was still within 6m of the winner. Runner-up in both previous attempts on this deck, he can be in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (5), CIRCLE LINE (2), TOMMY BLIGH (9), HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN A JUG ORTWO (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

CALL ME TRISH (4)
was sent around the field from the second line last start to sit parked and despite a tough trip was still giving on the line when 5m from subsequent winner ROLLONX. Wide off the track two starts back when 3rd, she finds the right set up here to capitalise.

PURPLE SHADES (9) settled in the pocket trail from gate 1 last start and lost momentum before the passing lane arrived. Shuffled back from inside the second line here two starts back, he had placed his previous three in succession prior to that and can be looking to descend on them.

LORD DENZEL (1) was beaten by a wide gate last start at Marburg when retreating in the early stages to find position. Striking trouble here two runs back, an economical trip can see him feature.

CANNAN (7) could not finish it off last start from the 1x1 trail when out of the money behind DOOLITTLE DAYS. A soft pole trip will be on offer here and he can chase a podium return.

SELECTIONS: CALL ME TRISH (4), PURPLE SHADES (9), LORD DENZEL (1), CANNAN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CALL ME TRISH (4) to win

RACE NINE

LAST CALL (1)
was building towards a maiden breaking victory and franked that assessment when taking them all the way last time out. Sent to the front from gate 2, she was never in danger to justify the $1.22 quote and claim a 7m margin. The gate gives her the chance to repeat.

TRUE ORIGINS (9) was asked to do it the tough way when parked outside the leader last time out, finish just out of the money after being supported to run at an odds-on quote. 3rd behind WAT NOW SHANNON the start prior, the gate makes it a tough ask in issuing the challenge.

OUR ULTIMATE RUBY (3) grabbed the bronze behind subsequent winner SHES IN LINE here three starts back. Her latest outing over the AP mile was a tidy performance behind the smart looking HARRYS DEAL.

LINCOLN HART (6) got it all wrong at Marburg last start and was banished to the trials. Earning the return with a tidy effort, he is a place hope despite the tough gate.

SELECTIONS: LAST CALL (1), TRUE ORIGINS (9), OUR ULTIMATE RUBY (3), LINCOLN HART (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LAST CALL (1) to win

RACE TEN

SHOOBEE RIGHT (7) would likely be a lock if drawn any other gate, but he can still overcome a potentially awkward gate here. Asked to sit parked last start when sent out deep into the red, he could not reel them in and missed the money. Finding the gap in time, he might finally open the account.

MARKSMAN (4) was returning from a spell last time out when faced with a second line gate over the AP mile. Chasing gamely, he held on for the bronze behind the big winner JESEEKA. Fitter for that appearance, he can look to go on with it here.

ESTIVAL (1) slid across from gate 6 over the AP mile last start and chased hard to grab the bronze behind STUDLEIGH PUNTER. With the benefit of the gate, she can chase the money.

COME ON TASCOTT (5) is yet to hit the board in six appearances, the latest when finishing 4th at Marburg. The wide gate does not help, but this might be open enough to grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: SHOOBEE RIGHT (7), MARKSMAN (4), ESTIVAL (1), COME ON TASCOTT (5)
SUGGESTED BET:
