RACE ONE

SHEZ GOT BLING (2) tackled a mare’s qualifier last start and found them a bit slippery over the closing stages as ARCO was able to see it out. Descending on them from the second line at the end of the 2138 here four back to score, she can be handy enough to capitalise from this gate.

WHATA JOURNEY (9) was tucked away from gate 1 last start and with the soft trip was able to follow through for the bronze behind MERRY DANCER. Strong to the line here three starts back when 4m from the winner, the gate stings but she should appreciate a return to this grade.

HESLUVABLE (10) was a winner three starts back when sent around them from the second line at Redcliffe and proved too strong in taking a 12m margin. Runner-up last start, he has podium claims.

FLY CHEVAL (8) was winding up in the closing stages and worked home strongly to grab 2nd here two starts back. Trying to make ground from deep field last start, she will get a soft trip here.

SELECTIONS: SHEZ GOT BLING (2), WHATA JOURNEY (9), HESLUVABLE (10), FLY CHEVAL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SHEZ GOT BLING (2) to win

RACE THREE

After a first up run where he went to the wire locked in traffic and never spotting a gap, THE IRISHMAN (1) was able to cash in last start. Taking the trail from gate 2, he was able to dart up the passing lane and pull clear to a 4m margin. This is no harder and with options can repeat.

KERBANG (12) returns to Gemma Hewitt after a stint in NSW and arrives with a last start 3rd at Bathurst where he hit the line in nice order from back in the pack to grab 3rd. A perennial placegetter that only broke maiden ranks four runs back, he has the extreme gate as he looks to challenge.

JAKKI MUN (9) was wide off the track last start at Redcliffe when trying to chime in, finishing 4m from the winner MATAI REACTOR. Minor money over the 2138 looks wide open here and he can make a case to grab some of it.

IT AINT ROYAL (8) held the 1x1 trail last start and was not that far from the winner. Dictating here three starts back, he maps for a soft trip and will be searching for openings.

SELECTIONS: THE IRISHMAN (1), KERBANG (12), JAKKI MUN (9), IT AINT ROYAL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: THE IRISHMAN (1) to win

RACE FOUR

The second line over the 2138 was a hurdle too high last start for MAJOR ICON (2) after being sent to sit parked. Still fighting in finishing 6m from THE IRISHMAN, it followed a neck 2nd two starts back when looking to take them all the way from this same gate. He can look to dictate and see it out.

MATAMUA (1) took the trail here two starts back and was able to hold on for the bronze behind FORGIVE ME. Too far back last start and unable to get warm as HEAD NOISE took the prize, she lands the mapping options here and finds the right set up to issue a drought breaking challenge.

SOHO CASABLANCA (10) eased from gate 6 last time out and was then working home wide off the track in nice close out behind GLOVER. Despite the tough gate, he can make a closing raid.

HEAD NOISE (5) is in great touch, completing the hat-trick last start with successive Redcliffe victories followed by a dictating PB. A wider gate will make t it a tougher task in chasing four.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR ICON (2), MATAMUA (1), SOHO CASABLANCA (10), HEAD NOISE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR ICON (2) to win

RACE FIVE

Unplaced in three previous appearances here at HQ, FULLOFIT (1) will be looking to amend those numbers after securing the ace. Pressing on to find the front at Redcliffe and fight them off over the 2040 two starts back, the inside second line saw her buried last start. This looks within reach.

KHULAN KID (7) is afforded no favours from the wide gate, but he has been in super form of late. Trying to see it out from the front last start, he was swamped in the closing stages, holding on for 3rd. Chasing behind IM BOO in successive starts, he can press ahead to throw down the challenge.

ARTS PEREGRINE (4) settled in the running line from gate 3 here two starts back and chimed in late to grab 3rd behind MOTU CULLEN. Positioning cheaply will help his chance to feature.

REDS STAR DEAL (10) will take benefit from his latest outing where he was returning from a spell and made good metres in the closing stages behind JAZIAH. The gate hurts, but he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: FULLOFIT (1), KHULAN KID (7), ARTS PEREGRINE (4), REDS STAR DEAL (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

A tricky one to peel here, finding the leader looks tricky. If IDEAL TIGER (1) can hold the pocket trail and get to the passing lane with momentum, he might be the one. A Redcliffe winner two starts back, he as 3m away last start and can look to make the closing shot a winning one.

BARTELLO (8) will need some factors in his favour from this alley, but a cheap run can see him ready to make a closing flurry. Beaten by gate 7 as FRANKIE FEROCIOUS carved it out in front last start, a tough trip the start prior dented his hopes. From this alley, he will be probing to challenge.

MADRIGAL (2) resumes from a spell after her last start 5th in the Qld Oaks where she loomed up strongly but just peaked in the closing stages. With good early speed, she should take benefit from the run.

THUNDAMENTAL (3) was in the trail from gate 1 last start and using the passing lane was able to grab the bronze. Settling handy, he can again be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: IDEAL TIGER (1), BARTELLO (8), MADRIGAL (2), THUNDAMENTAL (3)
SUGGESTED BET:  IDEAL TIGER (1) win/place

RACE SEVEN

Debut performances do not come any more impressive than what KING VANCE (8) was able to produce when leading throughout from gate 1. Doing it as he liked, running smart time and pulling away to post a huge 39m margin, if he gets the gap in time here, should make it 2 from 2.

APHRODITE (1) has faced some tough gates in recent outings, the latest from gate 6 when asked to grind it out first over but unable to finish it off. Strong to the line for 2nd two starts back, this is a huge gate improvement from recent outings, and she can look to throw it down.

ROLLED IN GOLD (4) was a winner here four runs back when locked away on the fence and owning the closing speed to grab the prize. Runner-up her past two, she can be closing hard.

NEVADA YANKEE (10) eased from gate 7 last start to settle rearward and was making some nice metres in the closing stages to be just outside the money. A peg trip here appeals to grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: KING VANCE (8), APHRODITE (1), ROLLED IN GOLD (4), NEVADA YANKEE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: KING VANCE (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

Faced with an inside second line gate last start, SOMETHINGABOUTLEXY (1) was buried in the run and never found the gap in finishing down the line behind MERRY DANCER. Scoring a slick win front the front at Dubbo two starts back, she has the early speed to take control and see this out.

BLACKJACK BART (8) eased for position on Saturday night when tackling a qualifier and with 250m to travel was still last. Rattling hard down the outside, he was able to arrive in time for a smart win. Just a half-neck away three starts back, the economical trip can see him ready to snipe.

MERRY DANCER (10) is also a last start qualifying winner, leading throughout in mare’s company with 5m to spare on the line. The second line makes this a tough ask.

CHAMONIX (3) has faced some wider gate in recent starts and should appreciate a tighter alley here. Still making good ground last start behind BEACH VILLA, positioning cheaply can see him chime in.

SELECTIONS: SOMETHINGABOUTLEXY (1), BLACKJACK BART (8), MERRY DANCER (10), CHAMONIX (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMETHINGABOUTLEXY (1) to win
