RACE ONE

CAPTIAN OH CAPTAIN (9) was taken back from gate 6 last start to settle at the rear and was then closing it out in nice style when runner-up to WHATA REACTOR, finishing 5m astern of the winner. Beaten in red figures at his past two starts, he can atone and gain some redemption.

CIRCLE LINE (5) is never too far away and last start was locked away three back on the inside after starting from the inside second line gate. Chiming in to grab the bronze, he was a winner from this gate three runs back at the 2040 trip after making one closing challenge. He is never too far away.

THE CASUAL GOOSE (6) receives no favours from the car park alley but did overcome this same spot four runs back when rolling forward to sit parked. He can roll the sleeves to feature again.

MISS PAU (4) has been runner-up at her past two appearances, the latest when sitting parked and grinding out a 3m margin. She can get handy to issue a podium play.

SELECTIONS: CAPTIAN OH CAPTAIN (9), CIRCLE LINE (5), THE CASUAL GOOSE (6), MISS PAU (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTIAN OH CAPTAIN (9) to win

RACE TWO

MILLIE FRANCIS (2) has had her runs this campaign well-spaced and lines up here with one month between appearances. Trying to make late metres last time when 3rd to subsequent winner FOVEAUX MAJOR, she has the gate to make her presence felt.

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (9) is better suited when rolling on front with all his best work done from that position. While he will not receive that map for this contest, he should appreciate this level of opposition and held 3rd last start from the pocket trail. He can make a closing challenge.

PROSPECTUS (1) will be second up for the new stable and should appreciate the improved gate after drawing wide and retreating last start. Tucked in behind she can be sharper here.

MOTU CULLEN (6) was an AP winner second up from a spell when easing forward to find position from a tricky gate. Well beaten in three runs since, despite the wide gate, he can turn it around.

SELECTIONS: MILLIE FRANCIS (2), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (9), PROSPECTUS (1), MOTU CULLEN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MILLIE FRANCIS (2) to win

RACE THREE

MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (3) eased to the inside from a second line gate last start over the AP 2138 and was trying to make a late play when 6m from the winner and holding 3rd behind MY ULTIMATE VICTOR. Runner-up here two starts back from deep field, positioning cheaply will be key.

ROYAL PRINCESS (1) struck trouble last start but was still able to be thereabouts as FLO RYDA scored. Sent out fav from this gate two starts back, she could not see it out but finds conditions here where she has the options to issue the challenge.

DIEGO DELGADO (6) found the 1x1 trail from this gate last start and had the closing power to descend on them and claim a 5m margin. The gate makes it a tough ask again but he can feature.

BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (5) has faced the starter twice since returning from a spell and been runner-up on both occasions. The gate stings but he has a smart record on this deck and is in the mix,

SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (3), ROYAL PRINCESS (1), DIEGO DELGADO (6), BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Heat five and the first of two heats this evening for the BOTRA Young Drivers Championship  and with good early hustle DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (3) can look for the poles in the early stages. With the absence of pressure, he can give some cheek in front.

THREE MACHS (5) was a last start winner after finding the pocket trail from gate 2 and then when angled into space was able to extend to claim a 7m margin. Drawn the second line at her three previous runs in succession, the wide gate stings but she is up to challenging.

MY ULTIMATE HESTON (7) was picking off a few in the latter stages last start at Marburg after settling deep field and then grabbing the bronze. A soft trip in behind the speed will help.

TAPTHEKEG (4) is looking to overturn a win drought that extends three years and last start was midfield at Marburg. Not that far from them two starts back at the 2040, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (3), THREE MACHS (5), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (7), TAPTHEKEG (4)
SUGGESTED BET: DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (3) to win

RACE FIVE

BETTING BARON (7) made the most of gate 1 over the AP mile four runs back and from the front was able to see it out with 6m to spare. Beaten by a wide gate here at his next start, not much has been in his favour at his past two. With the chance to stalk the speed, he just needs momentum.

ROLLONX (1) had this same gate over this trip last start in the strong Cup at the Bay heats and after setting the speed, faded over the latter stages. Gunned down here tow starts back, he has been unable to fight them off when lighting the lamps here at his past four, can he grip on here?

MATAI REACTOR (6) eased from a wide gate before owning superior closing power here three starts back to claim a narrow margin. The gate stings but back in this grade he has podium claims.

FEEL THE THRILL (8) was chasing a hat-trick of victories last start when faced with an inside second line gate where he was snookered in the run. He can be handy enough to chime in here.

SELECTIONS: BETTING BARON (7), ROLLONX (1), MATAI REACTOR (6), FEEL THE THRILL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTING BARON (7) to win

RACE SIX

The Final Young Drivers Heat for 2023 and there is every chance that it will come down to this race for a winner to be decided. WHATA CHALLENGE (9) could not get into the contest last start at Marburg from outside the second line. Finding the wire soundly his previous two, he might just be the one.

SKIPPERS SWAN SONG (5) found the 1x1 trail last start over this trip and grabbed the bronze behind GHOST TRAIN. Not that far from them two starts back after easing from this same gate and then making a closing raid, if she can position cheaply, she can throw down the challenge.

WEDDING NIGHT (1) tried to see it out from the front last start at Marburg but faded over the closing stages to just miss a minor, albeit a long way from the winner. The gate is a huge plus here.

BUSTN FEELZ GOOD (7) retreated from outside the front-line last start and was too far back to get into the money. With a softer trip here behind the speed, he can be chasing a minor.

SELECTIONS: WHATA CHALLENGE (9), SKIPPERS SWAN SONG (5), WEDDING NIGHT (1), BUSTN FEELZ GOOD (7)
SUGGESTED BET: WHATA CHALLENGE (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

WATERLINE (5) eased from gate 3 last start to find the poles and then found the gaps when needed working home to claim victory. Striking trouble in the run two starts back from a wide gate, if she can stay clear of any scrimmage, she can finish them off.

PRETTY GOOD REASON (2) led them up through a 62.1 opening half last start and had every conceivable to finish them off but faded to miss the money last start. Strong to the line two starts back when 3m from the winner, she can show her early speed and chase redemption.

BATMAN BART (9) was a winner from this gate four runs back when powering up in the closing stages. Beaten a head at his next outing, he has been wide out the past two and can chime in here.

AQUA CRUISER (8) was able to overcome the second line last start when working home best to claim a 3m margin. Runner-up at Marburg the start prior, he has podium claims once again.

SELECTIONS: WATERLINE (5), PRETTY GOOD REASON (2), BATMAN BART (9), AQUA CRUISER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WATERLINE (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

BORN TO WRITE (5) was a winner here three starts back when sent around them in the early stages to sit parked and pulling clear was far too classy for the opposition. Still honing her craft and with not much working out in the two runs since that win, she finds the right assignment to capitalise.

DOLLAR BUCKS (2) will be fresh up here after a last start 3rd where he was 8m form the winner VINCENT TIME. Midfield over the AP mile after an interrupted trip two starts back, he has the gate to get handy and issue the challenge.

KEITH WILL DO (4) resumes from a spell after breaking maiden ranks at his last appearance of the last campaign. Building towards that win, he has claims fresh up.

FRIDAY THIRTEENTH (1) was runner-up at Marburg last time out, albeit some 30m from a clear out winner. The inside gate helps his chances.

SELECTIONS: BORN TO WRITE (5), DOLLAR BUCKS (2), KEITH WILL DO (4), FRIDAY THIRTEENTH (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BORN TO WRITE (5) to win

RACE NINE

CRADOCK (5) rolled forward from outside the front-line last start and sitting parked was able to grind out the bronze, finishing 3m from the winner. With four runs back from a spell, he strikes a winnable maiden here and might just be stamped urgent to capitalise.

LADY ANTHEIA (9) started from this same gate last start and never had any luck when searching for gaps that did not open. In a wide-open maiden contest, if she can get into the clear with some momentum, she can cash in.

ENZED FLYER (7) started from this alley last start and finished midfield when under 6m from the winner. With any luck to spot clear air, he has podium claims.

CHLOES PROMISE (1) is just a 2YO filly tackling this mixed maiden and will be resuming from a spell. Unplaced in five starts earlier in the season, the gate helps.

SELECTIONS: CRADOCK (5), LADY ANTHEIA (9), ENZED FLYER (7), CHLOES PROMISE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CRADOCK (5) to win
