RACE ONE

Tackling a small 3YO event last start where he landed the outside gate, FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (4) was taken back to be driven with one run. Charging home over the closing stages he was able to lay out his own splits in 54.34 | 26.73 at the end of the 2138. Back to the mile, he can set the target.

CHISELED (1) was beaten by the second line gate last start in the 70Final where he was forced to work home wide off the track when all the action was up front. A slick Redcliffe winner the start prior when running the arm and keeping them moving, he has the mapping options to challenge.

OK BOOMER (8) spent plenty of tokens off the arm at the middle trip last start and wasn’t aided when it got tight off the first turn. Dictating here two starts back, he will be stalking in behind them.

MISTER FONZI (9) made a solid challenge last start in the 70Final when making the three-wide move and sticking on gamely for the silver. Off a hot tempo, he can be revving up late.

SELECTIONS: FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (4), CHISELED (1), OK BOOMER (8), MISTER FONZI (9)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANKIE FEROCIOUS (4) to win

RACE TWO

Hitting the board in all six starts since resuming from a spell, OLLIVICI (3) held on for 3rd in the Bill Collins when 8m from QUEEN ELIDA two starts back after darting across early. A tough trip off 30m last time in the Yarra Valley Cup, he can force the issue here and chase the maximum points.

MUFASA METRO (1) has the early speed to dictate where he positions and at his pas two has released for the trail, placing behind JUST BELIEVE and missing the money behind QUEEN ELIDA. With economics in mind, he can take the soft trip and produce in the stretch to throw it down.

CONSTANTINOPLE (5) has been faultless since joining the McCarthy stable, claiming the perfect 5 from 5 record, including an ID Golden ticket. This is the next step, and coming into the Series first up from a spell poses some questions.

MY ULTIMATE EDDIE (2) has been a model of consistency here in Qld in the past two months and has shown he will follow speed. This is a big step up, but he can follow them and possibly pinch some minor money.

SELECTIONS: OLLIVICI (3), MUFASA METRO (1), CONSTANTINOPLE (5), MY ULTIMATE EDDIE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OLLIVICI (3) to win

RACE THREE

The first of the four pacers heats where the local 4YO FUTURE ASSURED (5) can look to continue his rapid ascension. Really furnishing after the Constellations Carnival, he went on a four-win streak that peaked in the Be Good Johnny. The streak started with a sub 51 mile and with the chance to keep ahead of his main dangers, can start the Series in Style.

ROCK N ROLL DOO (7) makes his first trip to Qld for Mick Stanley and arrives off the back of a last start 2nd at Bendigo when buried from gate 1, before savaging the line to finish 3m from the dictating MACH DAN. 3rd behind that same winner in the Geelong Cup two starts back, the gate is the only hurdle.

SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (8) knows his way around The Creek, being a five-time winner on this deck. Chaing home and missing the money last start behind SWAYZEE, he is fresh for this but will need some favours as he risks being snookered.

KANENA PROVLIMA (9) is effective off tempo and can get the trip here to follow the speed. His number don’t suggest much but the right trip can seem grab some points heading into round 2.

SELECTIONS: FUTURE ASSURED (5), ROCK N ROLL DOO (7), SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (8), KANENA PROVLIMA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: FUTURE ASSURED (5) to win

RACE FOUR

Missing the Constellations Carnival this year, BETTER ECLIPSE (5) returns to The Creek where as a 4YO he was runner-up in The Rising Sun and defeated the open ranks in the Sunshine Sprint. Chasing a hat-trick of wins in this contest, he overcame a second line gate at Bendigo last start which had followed a lick effort in the Vic 4&5YO Championship. Despite mapping concerns, class can prevail.

CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (2) secures the ideal gate in the right Heat round to chase down maximum points. Dictating last start from gate 1, he was never in danger in a PB 1.51.3. Brave in defeat when sitting parked over the 2138 and from the second line the start prior, he can light the lamps and be gripping on.

CLASSIE WASHINGTON (1) was able to find a gap off the poles last start and worked forward to take control over the 2138 trip. Forced to dig in as the heat was applied, he held on and a soft trip here suits.

BETTERZIPPIT (6) claimed the Nullarbor at Gloucester Park in April and has had an interrupted campaign since. With just four more starts, his best result was a 2nd in the Redcliffe Cup behind LOYALIST. He comes into the Series fresh, but class is on his side.

SELECTIONS: BETTER ECLIPSE (5), CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (2), CLASSIE WASHINGTON (1), BETTERZIPPIT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-5 / 1-2-5 / 1-2-5-6

RACE FIVE

He may have tasted defeat in three of his biggest targets all year, but the effort of LEAP TO FAME (4) in all three of those was off the charts. Only beaten a head in the Vic Cup three starts back, he was beaten by the barrier in the Be Good Johnny. His win was huge in the Qld Cup where he threw out a sub 54 mile under a stranglehold with the plugs still in. He can gain the maximum.

DEUS EX (2) can fly the arm when needed and this looks the perfect scenario to chase the poles, release the good horse, and hope to have enough in the tank to grab some serious points out of the trail. Runner-up to BLACKSADANCE three runs back utilising that pattern, he can hope to repeat.

SPEAK THE TRUTH (9) comes into this Series first up off a break which does pose some questions, but he has shown previously he comes to hand quickly. With a smart private workout here last Saturday, he was last seen when midfield in The Eureka and can chime in here.

CANTFINDABETTORMAN (6) is one of very few horses that can boast a victory over LEAP TO FAME at this track. That was over 12 months ago, and he enters this Series fresh off his last start 4YO Championship victory here in July. The gate stings first up.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (4), DEUS EX (2), SPEAK THE TRUTH (9), CANTFINDABETTORMAN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4 / 2-6-9 / 1-2-6-9

RACE SIX

A NZ Cup victory stretched the winning sequence of SWAYZEE (2) to nine in succession since Jason Grimson took over. Dictating the Blacks A Fake and holding off LEAP TO FAME, he spelled before resuming with two effortless Menangle wins. Conquering NZ last start, he can stretch the streak to double figures.

MANILA PLAYBOY (1) started from this gate in the Qld Cup when resuming from a spell, where he was shuffled to three back in the early stages. When the field started to open, he found space and was best of the chasing pack to grab 2nd behind LEAP TO FAME. With the soft trip again, he can chase valuable points.

TURN IT UP (5) was beaten by the second line in the Qld Cup, but the run still had merit, along with MANILA PLAYBOY the only runners to really eat into the deficit behind LEAP TO FAME. With his blinding gate speed, he can zip across and then take cover.

TIMS A TROOPER (6) was first up from a freshen in the Qld Cup but he, like many, were left standing when LEAP TO FAME ripped clear. Strong to the line last start behind CAPTAIN SHUFFLES, he can make a late play.

SELECTIONS: SWAYZEE (2), MANILA PLAYBOY (1), TURN IT UP (5), TIMS A TROOPER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MANILA PLAYBOY (1) to place

RACE SEVEN

The Trotting Series is being billed as a two-horse showdown between QUEEN ELIDA (4) and JUST BELIEVE. It will be the Queen that we see first, the 5YO amid a super season where she has won a dozen races. Finding the front last start at Bendigo but collared by her Series rival. Scoring a big Melton win two starts back over the 2240 after sitting wide, she can flex in this line up.

ADELLE (5) looked the best placed of the Qld contingent when rankings were released, but she went through a slump not long after. Sent forward last start from the wide gate, it was a much sharper performance in grafting out 2nd place behind FUNNY FACE. At her best, she looks best of the rest.

PLYMOUTH CHUBB (8) is a talented 4YO that has faced his share of issues and line up here second up off a break. Just 5m from IM READY JET two starts back, he has the second line options to get into the contest.

HATCHBACK (3) has good speed out of the machine but might find himself parked if the 1 wants to wait for the fav to come calling. Finding front and releasing three back when runner-up to ARCEE PHOENIX, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: QUEEN ELIDA (4), ADELLE (5), PLYMOUTH CHUBB (8), HATCHBACK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Quinella / Exacta QUEEN ELIDA / ADELLE (4/5)

RACE EIGHT

Bringing just one run into this Series, the barriers have been kind to the defending champion JUST BELIEVE (1) with the chance to utilise his early speed to take control and secure the maximum. Resuming from his Scandinavian adventure with a tough and impressive victory, bad luck looks his only threat.

BULLION HARRY (4) started off the 20m tape ion the Kilmore Cup two starts back and with great manners worked forward to take control. Leading into deep stretch, he was grabbed by OLLIVICI. Gate 7 from the mobile was his undoing last time behind QUEEN ELIDA and with good speed off the arm, he looks the best of the chasing pack.

FUNNY FACE (3) claimed a Golden Ticket exemption when claiming the Trotters Spring Sprint here two starts back after trailing the speed and finishing best. Franking that with a subsequent win off speed, she has podium claims.

MAJESTIC HARRY (2) returned from a spell with a tidy victory and followed that with a pair of placings. Fading out last start, he can be sharper here as he chases a second Final berth.

SELECTIONS: JUST BELIEVE (1), BULLION HARRY (4), FUNNY FACE (3), MAJESTIC HARRY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Trifecta 1 / 4 / 2-3-5-8

RACE NINE

A strong support race where a case can be made for many of the runners and tempo and position will be key. HOLI STARZZZ (9) made the most of conditions last start to dart across, find the front and fight them off over this trip. Trailing through early, she is going well enough to repeat.

LIGHTNING DAN (6) makes his first appearance after joining the Brittany Graham stable and comes off a last start 5th over the Menangle Mile. A tough effort three starts back when sitting parked and beaten a half-neck, he can issue the challenge.

LUVBITE (1) backs up from Tuesday where he was strong to the line after retreating from gate 7, closing hard to be 1m from the winner. With the early options, he has podium claims.

BIG SKEWY (7) has been defeated at his past two starts, but the efforts have been huge. Just 2m from the winner two starts back, he again threw all the heat last start when getting within a half-head of CLASSIE WASHINGTON.

SELECTIONS: HOLI STARZZZ (9), LIGHTNING DAN (6), LUVBITE (1), BIG SJKEWY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: HOLI STARZZZ (9) to win

RACE TEN

The odds could be against BOBBY WATERHOUSE (8) from this gate if he finds himself buried in the run. Banking on securing the right trail, he arrives as a last start Methven winner and the winner of three races. Tuning up for this with a slick trial outing here at The Creek, he just needs the right gap to capitalise.

LULU MAE (2) has resumed from a spell in super form, with a pair of wins and a minor from three appearances. Grinding out a tough win last start when parked, she has the ideal gate to settle in the running line here and with what looks a hot tempo, if she can limit the burn, can throw it down.

MISTER QUIRK (1) is a newcomer to the Dwyer stable and brings two placings in his past three starts. Strong to the line three starts back from a second line gate, he has options.

BONNIES DANCE (9) eased from gate 7 last start and from deep field was attacking the line strongly in the closing stages to grab the silver. Placed at her past four in succession, she can chime in again.

SELECTIONS: BOBBY WATERHOUSE (8), LULU MAE (2), MISTER QUIRK (1), BONNIES DANCE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BOBBY WATERHOUSE (8) to win
