RACE ONE

A typically open veteran’s event to open the night and if he can settle handy enough, KASH US BACK (2) is going well enough to capitalise here. Strong to the line last start from a wide second line alley, three back over the middle trip, he loomed strongly to get within a pimple of victory.

SWAGGIE SHANNON (1) was runner-up over this trip two starts back when making a late raid behind ROCK BOTTOM and used the passing lane from this alley the start prior when 3rd. From the gate he can be tucked in behind the speed and ready to issue a closing challenge.

COMMODORE JUJON (6) faced the outside second line over the middle trip last start and was strong to the line when 2m from the winner. The gate hurts again but he can be thereabouts.

ITS MR CLOONEY (7) has bounced back into some form and is on the back up from Saturday night where he tackled the tapes from 10m. Placed in both prior outings, the gate dents the hopes here.

SELECTIONS: KASH US BACK (2), SWAGGIE SHANNON (1), COMMODORE JUJON (6), ITS MR CLOONEY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: KASH US BACK (2) to win

RACE TWO

Returning from a spell in the first round, SPEAK THE TRUTH (2) was left chasing, as were the entire pack as LEAP TO FAME handed out a lesson. This looks his chance to step up to the big time and while he may not have the early speed, he can find the position to stake his claim.

SWAYZEE (8) is at risk of ending his winning streak here after looking in danger of being buried and it might be an early ease back to get into the running line on the cards. Once he found the front in Round 1, he was in cruise control and is up to the task if he gets clear in time.

CANTFINDABETTORMAN (12) was sent forward in the early stages last time and after the tough trip faded late as LEAP TO FAME proved too classy. That was his first run since July and with the chance to work home off speed, can make a play.

FUTURE ASSURED (11) claimed first blood in the Series when winning Heat 1 with an all the way performance. Up to the 2138 with the right cart home will still work and he has claims.

SELECTIONS: SPEAK THE TRUTH (2), SWAYZEE (8), CANTFINDABETTORMAN (12, FUTURE ASSURED (11)
SUGGESTED BET: SPEAK THE TRUTH (2) to win

RACE THREE

So long in the shadow of his stablemate, TIMS A TROOPER (3) can further enhance his own great record by finally landing a decent marble here. Chasing behind SWAYZEE in Round 1 where nothing really made an impact, he rattled late two starts back and can get handy here to stake a claim.

BETTER ECLIPSE (11) was too strong in Round 1 when sitting parked and putting them away to score a strong victory. That completed a threepeat of victories and despite coming up with the second line gate, he has the versatility to issue the challenge and put up a claim that this Series is not a just about the brothers.

MANILA PLAYBOY (4) was driven hard in the early stages to protect a poles position and that aided his chances as he darted through late to grab the silver. Finding a cheap spot in the run will be key to his chances of gaining more valuable points.

TURN IT UP (1) found the front, took the trail and then held 3rd last time behind SWAYZEE. With all the options of who, if at all he releases, he can continue his consistency to grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: TIMS A TROOPER (3), BETTER ECLIPSE (11), MANILA PLAYBOY (4), TURN IT UP (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TIMS A TROOPER (3) to win

RACE FOUR

The fastest of the four pacing winners, LEAP TO FAME (9) hit the line under a stranglehold and looked super in victory, also posting the biggest winning margin of the Round 1. Off the back of his Qld Cup demolition, he can overcome the second line to go 20 for 2 this Series.

SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (2) was buried on the poles as FUTURE ASSUREED took them all the way and never a factor. It is a hard read of where he actually is at this campaign but gets every chance from this gate to press forward and throw it down for maximum points.

BETTERZIPPIT (7) did some early work to find position from the wide gate and was still thereabouts as BETTER ECLIPSE proved too classy. Despite the wide gate, the button might just get pressed early here.

HOT AND TREACHEROUS (11) did the heavy lifting outside SWAYZEE and battled gamely to just miss the placings when 6m astern of the winner. The gate stings, but he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (9), SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (2), BETTERZIPPIT (7), HOT AND TREACHEROUS (11)
SUGGESTED BET: LEAP TO FAME (9) to in

RACE FIVE

The only red figure fav from either division to go under in the first round, QUEEN ELIDA (3) looked to have her chance but was unable to finish it off as PLYMOUTH CHUBB rattled home to pinch the prize. Collared two starts back by JUST BELIEVE, a return to the middle trip will aid her cause.

ADELLE (1) was required to do her share of work last time and after the tough trip held on for the bronze. She gains the big improvement in barriers, but that may come at a risk, having been on the ODM embargo for so long. If she gets the start right, she is up to throwing down a challenge.

OLLIVICI (7) was able to squeeze in on the back of the leader MUFASA METRO in the first round which was the winning move as he then found space to power over the top. He cops no favours from 7.

MAJESTIC LAVROS (4) was buried in the run and did not receive the smoothest passage when still grabbing 4th behind PLYMOUTH CHUBB. He can settle handy to chime in.

SELECTIONS: QUEEN ELIDA (3), ADELLE (1), OLLIVICI (7), MAJESTIC LAVROS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: 3 / 1-4-7

RACE SIX

Victories don’t come any more clinical than what JUST BELIEVE (8) was able to deliver in the first round when holding them wide from gate 1, controlling the tempo and zipping home in 27.7 to claim an effortless 5m margin. The gate is tricky, but his class can see him home.

PLYMOUTH CHUBB (2) caused the Round 1 boilover when rattling home from three poles to knock off QUEEN ELIDA who looked to have an easy time of it in front. That was his third run back from a spell and he should take good benefit from the run. With good arm hustle, he can look to claim another scalp.

MUFASA METRO (10) was trying to see it out in front in Round 1 but OLLIVICI was able to get the better of him after the cold sit. The second line makes it a tough ask, but he can be chiming in.

SIR FAHRENHEIT (1) had the early hustle to find the poles which made the difference as he grabbed silver behind JUST BELIEVE. He comes up big in the barriers again and that can help him land in the money.

SELECTIONS: JUST BELIEVE (8), PLYMOUTH CHUBB (2), MUFASA METRO (10), SIR FAHRENHEIT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JUST BELIEVE (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

After an impressive trial session where he was green but strong to the line, SKYRO DREAMZ (7) was sent out deep into the red here last week for his debut. Off gate 1, he burrowed through early before breaking gait and ending his day. Now with the ODM embargo, time to balance up can be vital.

CHICAGO BART (8) is an unraced Sweet Lou colt trained by Belinda McCarthy. Out of a G1 winning mare in New York Fashion, he trialled at Menangle in good order in readiness for a debut. If some factors can go his way from this alley, he will be issuing the challenge.

HAY BALE HUSTLER (9) has placed in three of her four career starts, the latest when chasing home in an open age maiden behind the smart looking 3YO DEFENSE ATTORNEY. She can be chiming in again.

DENIS THE PUNTER (1) has placed in both runs back from a spell, the latest when grabbing 2nd from gate 7 behind FINANCIAL BURDEN. With the inside alley, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: SKYRO DREAMZ (7), CHICAGO BART (8), HAY BALE HUSTLER (9), DENIS THE PUNTER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SKYRO DREAMZ (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

The Southern region heat for the Regional Championship where the class of THE IRISHMAN (10) can see him overcome the mapping difficulties. Finding the 1x1 trail last start, he had the closing speed to arrive for a narrow victory at the mile. Collared over the 2138 the start prior, he is up to this.

HUGO GEORGE (9) has faced the starter twice since joining the Jack Butler stable and they have been in much tougher races than what he gets back to here. 5m from CAPTAIN NEMO to starts back when snookered, he was beaten a similar margin last start. He can throw it down here.

CHAMONIX (7) receives no favours from the outside paint, but he has been meeting stronger opposition than what he lines up against here. Under 7m from LAST TIME JOE two starts back, he can be joining in.

SKIPPERS SWAN SONG (2) has been in nice touch and completed a hat-trick of victories here last week when descending on them in the closing stages. Off tempo, she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: THE IRISHMAN (10), HUGO GEORGE (9), CHAMONIX (7), SKIPPERS SWAN SONG (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THE IRISHMAN (10) to win

RACE NINE

LEITHEN BURN (2) worked forward from gate 3 here two starts back and once in control was able to dictate and pull clear to a 12m margin. Buried away last start when just behind the money as SO SIRIUS arrived, he can dart across and look to dictate.

BETTING ORIGIN (1) will be first up off a freshen with his last appearance in the Peak of The Creek heats when 4m from WISPER A SECRET. Chasing home behind FRANKIE FEROCIOUS the start prior, he maps for the perfect trip in behind the speed to issue a closing challenge.

BANGKOK DEEJAY (6) has not been seen since The Hayden back in July and comes into this without a public trial to prepare. At his best he would be a threat here, fitness and a wide gate asks some questions that he may not be ready to answer first up.

OFFYAROCKA CROCKER (4) was asked to sit parked last start and after the tough trip was 4m from the winner THE TAX CULLECTOR. Just a half-head away two starts back, he looms large here.

SELECTIONS: LEITHEN BURN (2), BETTING ORIGIN (1), BANGKOK DEEJAY (6), OFFYAROCKA CROCKER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LEITHEN BURN (2) to win

RACE TEN

Returning from a spell last start from a 20m tape, TOP OF THE MOMENT (4) was safely away and given plenty of time to balance up and find his feet. When set free, he chased hard, rounded them up and pulled away to a 5m margin. Still only inexperienced, he looks smart and can repeat.

KING CITY (2) was first up for Shawn Grimsey last start when rolling forward to sit parked but ending his chances with an error. Banished to the trials, he came through that in good order to earn the return and if able to trot cleanly, will get the chance to issue a challenge.

INVICTUS (7) is the big query runner, a hugely talented performer that resumes from a spell and faces the 60m impost. With three starts in NSW for the McCarthy stable, he switches to Brent Lilley and stays under a big watch.

KING OF THE NORTH (5) was second up off a break here two starts back when darting across from gate 4 to set the speed and take them all the way. Making an error last start, he can bounce back.

SELECTIONS: TOP OF THE MOMENT (4), KING CITY (2), INVICTUS (7), KING OF THE NORTH (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TOP OF THE MOMENT (4) to win
