RACE ONE

Runner up in her past three successive starts a win is just around the corner for SISTER KATIE (1). Leading them up last week she looked to have it in her keeping until MIRA SATURN peeled off her back and got her in the closing strides with the 10m advantage she can cash in.

MIRA SATURN (6) had been moving closer to a maiden breaking victory and finally broke through here last week. With the ideal trip she had the closing speed to arrive on the wire. She goes back 10m, but confidence can help her throw it down.

DEAD SET CRAZY (5) was resuming from a spell last time out and was fired up, made errors in the run which ended his chances. If he can trot cleanly, he can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SISTER KATIE (1), MIRA SATURN (6), DEAD SET CRAZY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SISTER KATIE (1) to win

RACE TWO

Asked to sit parked last time out after the tough trip ITSALLANDOVER (5) was able to grab the bronze behind EVERYSECONDCOUNTS. Shooting for a hat-trick the start prior. He was unable to finish it off and benefiting from meeting last week’s winner on equal terms here, he gets his chance.

IGNITE (9) was first up for the new stable last start where he trotted cleanly and was finishing the race strongly in the latter stages. Taking benefit from that run where he was resuming from a spell, with the right cart home here from the back mark, he can issue a challenge.

JUST CALL ME MOLLY (4) is a good beginner, and from the 10m can press forward to settle on the speed. Not too far away last start when releasing for the trail, she can be thereabouts once again.

EVERYSECONDCOUNTS (6) was buried against the poles last start, and when breaking free, attacked the line strongly to claim a smart win. She faces an extra 10m handicap but has claims.

SELECTIONS: ITSALLANDOVER (5), IGNITE (9), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (4), EVERYSECONDCOUNTS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ITSALLANDOVER (5) to win

RACE THREE

HOT ROD HARRY (5) is a Trent Dawson trained debutante by the top stallion, American Ideal out of the handy mare Happy Feelings. Looking impressive in a recent trial, he faces an awkward alley for his first race appearance, but he strikes the right field to kick-off, his career in winning style.

PEEJAY MACK (2) grabbed the silver last week when darting between runners after easing from gate 5 to secure position. Hitting the line in nice fashion, with an improved gate for this, she can look to press forward and handy to the action can throw down the challenge>

SKYRO DREAMZ (7) started deep in the red from gate one on debut but got it all wrong at the start to end his chances. Now on the ODM embargo his trial form suggests he is in the mix.

HAY BALE BUSTLER (10) can do a few things wrong in her races but is slowly starting to put it together with the right cart into the contest, has podium claims

SELECTIONS: HOT ROD HARRY (5), PEEJAY MACK (2), SKYRO DREAMZ (7), HAY BALE BUSTLER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: HOT ROD HARRY (5) to win

RACE FOUR

These up to in NR40 events are always tricky affairs, and despite a second line, if the tempo is right CRIME TIME (9) can be looking to power home in the closing stages. First up for the new stable last start when luckless after being buried, with the right outside line trip, he might be the one.

IMA BIRUBI BOY (6) loves to fly the arm and last start was launched early from gate 7 to set the speed. Unable to finish them off and fading late, he can look for the front again here. Pinching a panel or two will be beneficial to his challenging chances.

FLY CHEVAL (10) can look to get a cart into the contest and with the right trip can make a podium finish. A winner two starts back when leading throughout at Marburg, she has claims.

TEST OF FIRE (2) lands the gate to be to the first to the poles. From there, he will then have available options, and with the chance to tuck in behind the speed can be probing for the gaps to feature.

SELECTIONS: CRIME TIME (9), IMA BIRUBI BOY (6), FLY CHEVAL (10), TEST OF FIRE (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

Caught too far back in strong time last start MAJOR MONDO (4) was trying to finish it off and was sound to the line behind BEACH ON FIRE. That was at the mile, and he steps up to the middle trip here where he was a winner five runs back. Pressing forward, he might just be able to pinch this.

BEACH ON FIRE (1) sat in behind the speed last week in an AYDC Race, and when angled to the outside, had the closing speed to arrive. With further options from this alley, he can be tucked in for the soft trip. The big query is the middle trip and his credentials to challenge.

ARCHILLES (6) grabbed the bronze in a qualifier last start when finding the pocket trail and finishing 5m from the winner WINDY HILL WALLY. The gate hurts, but he has been super consistent.

KERBANG (7) faces gate 7 for the third successive start, the previous two his own doing after facing the ODM embargo. With the right trip and limiting the early burn, he is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR MONDO (4), BEACH ON FIRE (1), ARCHILLES (6), KERBANG (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR MONDO (4) to win

RACE SIX

A winner on debut, this looks another step up for DEFENCE ATTORNEY (2) but importantly, he lands a gate tight to the fence. Doing it comfortably in that first appearance with a 55.9 closing half he should take benefit from the experience and with the chance to light the lamps, can look to remain undefeated

PERFECT TREND (10) has had two starts since arriving in Qld, one of those when tackling a mare’s qualifier when finishing runner-up to ROCKNROLL MAMA. Under 4m from subsequent winner MYDADSAID when first up, the alley makes it a tough ask, but she can throw it down.

BOGLE MCNEEP (3) is an interesting runner, making his Qld debut for Trista Dixon. The son of Sweet Lou arrives as the winner of his only start in a big field at Ashburton. With a recent trial against experienced rivals, he was not asked for much and from this gate can issue the challenge fresh up.

HARRY KANE (8) will be requiring a slice of luck at some stage from this alley as he looks at risk of being buried. With more race craft than some of the favoured runners, if the gaps arrive, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: DEFENCE ATTORNEY (2), PERFECT TREND (10), BOGLE MCNEEP (3), HARRY KANE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: DEFENCE ATTORNEY (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

THE BEAUDEN BLUES (3) will come into this event fresh after a last start fade out in a Peak of The Creek heat. Sent to the post as the favourite in that event, he finished at the rear of the pack. He lands a nice gate here and limiting the early burn can be the catalyst to get the campaign back on track.

IM BOO (2) is at his best when allowed to roll along in front but has been hampered by second line barriers at his past two starts. Still strong to the line last time behind HANDS ON in slick time, a return to the front line is a plus and if taking control, he will ensure a solid tempo.

ALTA MAGACIAN (7) is afforded no favours from the outside paint but is a handy three-year-old. There should be good tempo in this race and positioning cheaply will aid his chances.

ETERNAL GOLD (9) should be able to secure the right trail in the early stages, following out behind some good speed. If he is close enough, then the tempo looks right to be a knockout hope

SELECTIONS: THE BEAUDEN BLUES (3), IM BOO (2), ALTA MAGACIAN (7), ETERNAL GOLD (9)
SUGGESTED BET: THE BEAUDEN BLUES (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

Fitter, after two runs back from a spell an improved gate for APOLLO DREAMZ (3) can be the catalyst for him to get back into winning form. His last start was full of merit when 5m from ARODA, chasing home in a slick last 800. That form has since been franked and settling closer to the action, secures, his chance to capitalise.

ALWAYS SMOKIN (9) was a winner here last start when sent forward from gate five taking control and fighting them off over the closing stages. The second line will make it a tougher ask this time, but with the right trail in the early stages can be issuing a challenge.

LEITHEN BURN (4) started a red figure fav last start where he led them up but was unable to see it out. Buried when chasing SO SIRIUS the start prior, he can be thereabouts once again.

LANAI (1) was strong to the line when grabbing 3rd behind ARODA last start. Securing options from this alley, tucked in behind the speed, he can take one closing shot at them in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: APOLLO DREAMZ (3), ALWAYS SMOKIN (9), LEITHEN BURN (4), LANAI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: APOLLO DREAMZ (3) to win

RACE NINE

Another even veteran’s race, where position in the run and tempo will be crucial. OBI ONE (2) should have enough early bullets to get across and from there will have available options. Hitting the line strongly last start from deep field behind O B LEGAL, he finds the right set up to capitalise.

KASH US BACK (3) has hit winning form and lines up here chasing a hat-trick of victories. Settled at the rear of the pack last week, when set free, he rattled hard down the outside, arriving for a smart victory. He can slide across and settling much closer to the speed, the threepeat is within reach.

SWAGGIE SHANNON (1) should secure an ideal trip against the markers and be in position to utilise the options. Not far away last start, mapping favours will aid his chances.

KEY LARGO (9) was wide over the closing stages two starts back but hit the line strongly in a smart performance when runner-up to KASH US BACK. At his best in front, the right trail can see him chime in here.

SELECTIONS: OBI ONE (2), KASH US BACK (3), SWAGGIE SHANNON (1), KEY LARGO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: OBI ONE (2) to win
