The Ladbrokes Battle of the Bush returns this week with all roads leading to Eagle Farm.

The state’s showpiece country racing series commences at Goondiwindi and Thangool on Saturday, with 16 qualifiers (two per country region) to be staged over the coming months across the state.

Once again, the series will reach its thrilling crescendo as part of the Queensland Racing Carnival, with the $200,000 Final to be run on the card of the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara.

Racing Queensland CEO Jason Scott said the Ladbrokes Battle of the Bush remains the showpiece event for country racing in Queensland.

“The Battle of the Bush series provides our country and regional participants a unique opportunity to compete for feature level prize money on a Group 1 raceday with the eyes of a nation watching on,” Mr Scott said.

“The series continues to surge in popularity across the state, and we are excited to see it get underway bigger and better than ever this weekend at Goondiwindi and Thangool.”

A $30,000 bonus will once again be paid to the winner if it is a QTIS-registered horse.

In a first for the series since its inception in 2018, the Mt Garnet Amateur Turf Club will also host a qualifier on May 3.

Ladbrokes will sponsor the Battle of the Bush concept for the first time in 2024, with the final on June 29 supported by a function to be staged in the Ladbrokes Rough Habit Room.

“Ladbrokes has a strong heritage in Australia of supporting racing at all levels,” Ladbrokes Executive Director – Stakeholder Engagement, Karl deKroo said.

“Racing plays such a critical role, particularly in regional communities and it is great to have the Ladbrokes positioned behind the Battle of the Bush qualifying series and then of course the big final at headquarters.”

Additionally, the ever-popular Fashions From Afar competition will return in 2024, run in conjunction with each of the BOTB qualifiers, culminating with a final on Tattersall's Tiara Day.
