Overraced when being restrained to obtain cover near the 900m. When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, which weakened in the home straight, jockey M. Du Plessis indicated that, in his opinion, the horse raced like a horse that had come to the end of its preparation. He added that the gelding laid in badly when entering the home straight and was making an abnormal respiratory noise when under pressure. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near foreleg. Stewards advised trainer R. Lipp that in light of jockey Du Plessis’s comments he would be
