GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: MCKINLAY SHIRE COUNCIL BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP    1100 M
 
 
FAR REACHING – jumped in at the start and crowded Northern Girl which had to steady.
 
SUNVALLEY DREAMING – raced wide throughout.
 
NORTHERN GIRL – crowded when leaving the barriers and had to be steadied; raced wide from the 800 metres.
 
CORALEE – slow to leave the barriers and settled well back.
 
DONENOTHING – gave ground passing the 400 metres.
 
BOOM KING – tightened at the start and lost ground; hung out making the turn.
 
 
 
Race 2: TOWNSVILLE EARTH MOVING OPEN HANDICAP         1100 M
 
FULL OF FIRE – raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 3: JULIA CREEK BUTCHER MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0 – 60 HANDICAP      1100 M
 
LE WEASEL – lay out throughout; raced in restricted room for several strides near the 400 metres when inside TRINITY MISSILE which became unbalanced and shifted in when making the turn.
 
TRINITY MISSILE – had difficulty negotiating the turn at the 400 metres.
 
BOARDIE – raced wide throughout; passing the 600 metres hung out and made the final turn wide on the track.
 
ASHMOLEAN – very slow into stride.
 
 
Race 4: MARWILL / GULF COTTON QTIS MAIDEN PLATE  1200 M
 
ADASHAN – raced wide throughout.
 
FORTIUS ALTIUS – hung out badly near the 800 metres and ran out, clipping a heel and losing momentum. Rider D Sparks reported the gelding proved difficult to control and that after clipping a heel he had not persevered in riding the gelding out- a post-race veterinary examination revealedof the gelding revealed no obvious abnormality. Trainer Ms S Royes was advised that a warning had been placed on FORTIUS ALTIUSracing manners.
 
BITONTHESIDE - – raced wide throughout
 
Rider of the third placed BITONTHESIDE Shane McGovern, advised he wished to view the photo finish print prior to all-clear being declared. After review the image he was satisfied with the placings.

 
Race 5: MULTICOM RESOURCES ARTESIAN EXPRESS CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
SINNER – raced wide for the majority.
 
LASTING PROMISE – raced wide throughout.
 
PREFERRAL (NZ) – raced wide throughout.
 
GREAT IAM – crowded and had to steady when in restricted room near the 550 metres and lost ground.
 
 
 
Race 6: NTS / NAVMAN / AIC COPPER MINE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP       1350 M
 
KING’S CONDUCT – raced wide throughout.; rider reported that the gelding had failed to handle the turn.
 
SIZZLESUN – struggled to maintain contact through the middle stages; raced wide throughout; rider reported that the gelding had resented the kick back, and additionally may be suited to more distance.
 
BARRICHELLO – raced wide throughout.
