SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Medical Clearances were received from Jockey C Spry and Apprentice L Overall.
 
GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweight’s: R3 C. Whiteley +0.5kg, R6 K. Matheson +1.0kg
 
Race 1: FAMILY RACEDAY SATURDAY 13 APRIL MAIDEN HANDICAP   1400 M
 
NAHEIGHTKAY – Slow to leave the barriers.
 
EYES ARE LION – Shifted out abruptly at the 300m and contacted KAISA.
 
ICE BOUND – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly in the early stages. Lost an offside hind shoe in running.
 
KAISA – Bounded on jumping and settled back in the field. Inclined to over race in the middle stages.
 
ALONTRO – Jockey L. Morrison reported at scale that the gelding was showing signs of lameness on pulling up. Underwent a post-race veterinary which revealed no significant findings.
 
SNUGGLE BANG YAHOO – A. Layt replaced R. Wiggins as the rider of the gelding when Jockey Wiggins was unable to make the allocated weight. Jockey R. Wiggins was fined the sum of $300 under the provisions of AR190(3). Jumped out at the start.
 
MY LITTLE VIKING. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
CYBER JAM – On entering the home straight, was held up for a clear run for some distance.
 
 
Race 2: HYGAIN BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP         1609 M
 
RAZMENT – Jumped in abruptly making heavy contact with CONQUERING JUDAS which lost ground.
 
MAJESTICS REQUEST – Jockey A. Butler reported that he elected to press forward to the lead at the 900m due to the extremely slow pace being set by TAVISTEEL (NZ).
 
TAVISTEEL (NZ) – Raced ungenerously when in the lead in the early and middle stages. Had to be steadied off heels near the 700m.
 
MOOLOOLABA (NZ) – Became awkward turning into the back straight when over racing and continued to over race for some distance.
 
 
Race 3: LADBROKES SAME RACE MULTI QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 M
 
 
HEAD HONCHO – Jockey L. Tarrant reported on scale that HEAD HONCHO raced greenly throughout.
 
FORGETABOUTIT – Declared a late scratching at 1:55pm as a consequence of SOGOYA rearing in the barriers and striking FORGETABOUTIT in the head region.
 
SOGOYA – Declared a late scratching at 1:55pm after becoming fractious in the barriers and proceeded to get its leg over the partition. Trainer S. Acornley was advised SOGOYA must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to resuming.
 
Following the late scratching’s of FORGETABOUTIT and SOGOYA and prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered the following deductions applied to all successful wagers made prior to 1:55pm;
 
1st 21c win, 17c place
2nd 22c
3rd 7c
Bookmakers were advised to pay first, second and third on all bets made prior to 1:55pm.
 
MR GRUMBLER – Commenced to over race and had to be restrained off heels for some distance passing the 900m.
 
MISHANI BURN – Shifted in abruptly on jumping and bumped MISHANI WOLF heavily.
 
 
Race 4: LADBROKES YARD COMMENTS RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP      1000 M
 
MIDAS STAR – Declared a late scratching at 8:03am due to veterinary reasons. Trainer S. Bush was advised he will be required to present a veterinary clearance prior to MIDAS STAR resuming.
 
TRINITY MISSILE – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping FIVE BULLS.
 
COLLOMBATTI – Tightened shortly after jumping and was badly hampered by MISS HELMUT which shifted out and HARVESTA which shifted in.
 
CROWNING MOMENT – Jumped out at the start and bumped ICE SKATER. Raced four wide without cover.
 
FIVE BULLS – Lost a nearside hind plate passing the 250m.

HARVESTA – Shifted in abruptly leaving the barriers making heavy contact with COLLOMBATTI, resulting in the gelding becoming badly unbalanced and losing ground. Lost an offside hind plate in running.
 
ICE SKATER – Lost an offside hind plate on jumping.
 
MISS HELMUT – Jumped out contacting COLLOMBATTI. Raced three wide with cover from the 800m. Hung out when making the home turn at the 500m and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout the final stages.
 
 
Race 5: LADBROKE IT! OPEN HANDICAP   1200 M
 
YES DREAM – Declared a late scratching at 10:45 due to veterinary reasons. Trainer M. Lee was advised he will be required to present a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding resuming.
 
FAMILY STAR – Trainer G. Hughes reported that FAMILY STAR suffered a one nostril bleed after the event.  FAMILY STAR will be required to gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward prior to racing again and a veterinary certificate of fitness will be required prior to such gallop.
 
CAPTAIN BOND – Proved difficult to load and delayed the start of the event. Trainer L. Gordy was advised a warning will be placed on the gelding’s record.
 
MISSILE THUNDER – Slow into stride. Hung out for the majority of the event.
 
ACROBATIC – A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to an eye.
 
 
Race 6: LADBROKES BET TICKER QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP       1000 M
 
BEAU RAIN – Between the 600m and the 400m was held up and unable to improve. Passing the 100m commenced to hang in requiring jockey N. Thomas to stop riding momentarily and straighten his mount.
 
MISHANI MYSTIQUE – Shifted out abruptly on jumping and hampered ELIE JOE which lost ground.
 
CRAICARO – Slow to begin. Shifted ground wider on the home turn.  Returned to the enclosure with a laceration to the nearside fore fetlock and was attended to by the on-track veterinarian.  
 
HE'S ALL POWER – Bumped another runner and became unbalanced on jumping. Raced very greenly throughout. Became unbalanced when steadied away from the heels of NAZORIAN passing the 300m.
 
CATALINA DREAMING – Jumped awkwardly. Raced greenly for a short distance after leaving the barriers. Raced three wide throughout.
 
DISCO ANNIE – Shifted in shortly after jumping and bumped with BEAU RAIN resulting in DISCO ANNIE losing ground and settling back.
 
 
Race 7: MITAVITE CLASS 1 HANDICAP       1200 M
 
 
HEZABUSYBEE – Trainer T McGovern and Jockey A Butler were questioned regarding the riding tactics adopted by Jockey Butler in particular over the final 350 metres. It was noted by Stewards that HEZABUSYBEE was not tested over the final 200 metres and went to the finish line untested. Jockey A Butler advised that he was instructed from the wide barrier to ride the gelding back in the field which is the geldings usual racing pattern. After being held up behind runners and unable to improve until the 200 metres, Jockey A Butler then elected to shift out across heels in an attempt to obtain clear running however was still unable to obtain same and went to the finish line without being tested. Stewards specifically questioned Jockey A Butler regarding his awareness of a run which had momentarily developed to his inside passing the 200 metres. Jockey Butler advised that he elected to follow MISS SHAALA and at the 180 metres TENNAGAIN which was racing to his inside shifted out and again he was unable to improve and was held up on the heels of MISS SHAALA. Trainer T McGovern provided evidence that he had confidently supported his runner. The explanation of both Trainer T McGovern and Jockey A Butler was noted.
 
MAMA'S MAN – Raced three wide early.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a nearside foreleg joint injury.  A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before MAMA'S MAN can race again.
 
OH MY HAT – Shifted in on jumping, hampering ELLIE’S DREAM which lost ground.
 
ELLIE'S DREAM – Hampered shortly after the start and settled back.
 
TENNAGAIN – Got its head up when being steadied near the 1000m then over raced for some distance in the middle stages.
 
MAKANUI – Raced three wide throughout.
 
HEADLANDER – Laid out after jumping. Skied its head and commenced to race ungenerously when being restrained near the 1000m.
 
 
Race 8: LADBROKES RACING CLUB BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP    1300 M
 
MISS SEATTLE – Raced four wide early before obtaining a three wide position for the remainder.
 
CASTILE – Raced three wide for the majority.
 
FINALLY REALISE – Refused to leave the barriers on release and took no part in the event. Trainer B. Kenning advised Stewards that he intends to retire the gelding, he was nonetheless advised that the gelding must perform two consecutive satisfactory trials prior to resuming.
 
INDICTMENT – Raced three wide throughout.
 
COUNTER COMMAND – Over raced in the early stages and raced ungenerously for some distance until the 1000m. Jockey L. Morrison reported on scale that the gelding hung in throughout the home straight.
 
TEN SCHILLING – Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
COUNT OF CARFORD – Raced three wide.
 
DON'T TELL LEEANNE – Shifted in on jumping bumping with EDIFICATION. Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
 
BREAKWATER BOY – Shifted in on jumping and bumped with MEDAL (NZ).
 
Following the late scratching of TOTO and prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered the following deductions applied to all successful wagers made prior to 5:03pm;
 
1st 1c win, 1c place
2nd 1c
3rd 1c
 
TOTO – Declared a late scratching at 5:03pm after refusing to load. Trainer G. Hughes was advised that TOTO must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to resuming.  
 
AIDENABET – Held up making the home turn. Hung in over the concluding stages.
