When questioned apprentice explained after being tardy at the start she elected to ride her mount at the tail of the field where it travelled comfortably throughout. She said that shortly after straightening she attempted a narrow run to the inside of another runner however was disappointed and held for a considerable distance. Apprentice concurred with stewards that although being slow to begin she should have made a greater effort to improve her position and that when racing at the tail of the field she should have not been three lengths from the remainder of the field. |
