Shockwave Slow to begin. Reported that gelding failed to handle the sand track surface on this occasion. A post-race veterinary inspection did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards would follow-up with the trainer re its performance. Gladstone 22/10/2016
 
Race 5
Ruby Ray Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, S. Bogenhuber advised that despite being slow to begin, her mount travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure from the 600m failed to respond to her riding and proved disappointing. She added that in her opinion the quick back-up and the length of this preparation may have been telling factors in the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
