Timperley Raced greenly and hung out throughout when racing wide without cover. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse was shin sore in the off foreleg following the event. Barbara of Seville Finished a distant last. When questioned, rider P. Romeo stated that the mare travelled reasonably well in the early stages of the event however, after passing the 1000m when the pace quickened slightly, failed to maintain a position on the back of the field and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be making some slight abnormal breathing noise, which could be consistent with a lung infection. Trainer S. Glenturret Had to steady passing the 950m when crowded for room by ALLENA, which was taken in by INFINITE LEE. Ipswich 14/01/2017
Dansu When asked to explain the horse's disappointing performance, jockey J. Lloyd sated that the gelding raced greenly throughout and was inclined to change legs repeatedly in the home straight. He added that nevertheless the gelding still proved disappointing and will take benefit from today's racing experience. Trainer D. Duryea expressed her disappointment in the performance and indicated that she would now add blinkers to the horse's gear and the horse would possibly compete in a jump-out before its next race start A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slightly slow recovery rate.
