Near the 1100m had to be checked. Rdr reported that after her mount had to be checked, it failed to respond to her riding and was disappointing in its finishing effort. A post-race vet exam revealed the gelding, which was beaten 57(L), to be lame (2/5) in its near foreleg. At a subsequent inquiry, stable rep was advised that vet clearance must be provided prior to barrier trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again.

Rdr stated mounts racing manners in e&m stages were to its detriment sustaining a finishing effort. Rdr added mount was 1st up after lengthy spell & would take race fitness benefit from event. App stated she endeavoured to give mount some cheaper sectionals in middle stages before asking for sprint near 400m. App stated mount failed to respond to her efforts from this point & weakened to line. Tnr stated gelding has raced best when it obtains an easy lead so as to sustain a finishing effort. Tnr added on today's performance he intends to spell the gelding. P/R vet no ab's. To trial PTNS.
