Stewards questioned rider regarding the fast pace set during the early and middle stages before her mount commenced to tire, particularly as to why that near the 1100m, when it became apparent the gelding was going to be unable to obtain the lead, she persisted with pressuring her mount when a more favourable option would have been to attempt to settle her mount and obtain a position just off the leader. Rider advised that her instructions had been to obtain the lead from the wide barrier and concurred with Stewards that she should have eased.
