Bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start raced in restricted room and became unbalanced momentarily when crowded for room. After being taken inwards when crowded near the 600m, became unbalanced for some distance due to pressure on its hindquarter.

When qst re settling back in field, rdr std no firm instructions given other than to avoid racing in or outside lead & to have mnt racing comfortably depending on how it jumped. Std after beginning awkwardly & becoming unbalanced due to pressure on its hindquarter at start, he then was not in a position to ride forward, so allowed mnt to settle where comfortable behind midfield. Added since he considered going to be favourable closer to inside, he was able to place mnt under full pressure from the 250m whereby it closed off satisfactorily. A post-race vet exam rev no abs.

Had difficulty securing clear running in the early part of the straight and at the 150m was disappointed for a run, then again had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted outwards inside the 100m. Rdr was reminded of his obligations to ensure that he rides his mounts out fully to the end of the race.
